As Crossroads Baptist Church is an independent Baptist congregation, and not associated with any denomination, I can be certain that Baldwin's church is *not* a member of the NCC.

They were in the wrong to engage in slavery. (Like most other developed nations from the period.) Slavery was not abolished in the British empire until 1833-1840. It was not abolished in France until 1848.
The US was in the wrong to wage a war of aggression on the Confederacy after secession--and historians were wrong to call it a "Civil War". It was nothing of the kind. No more classic example exists of "history books being written by the victors".

The United States was never meant to be what we have today.
It was ( and Constitutionally still is) a voluntary union of individual sovereign states (nations). When the Federal government goes beyond the powers specifically granted it, it is the peoples and the states right to leave the Union. Even today, scratch that, ESPECIALLY TODAY.
Thank you Dr. Paul for making my act on what I already knew was right.

Montana's heavy artillery and shipping it to Iraq. Their governor has said enough times that he will secede from the union especially in light of the recent Real ID statues that were passed.
Ergo, Montana rules. Ron Paul / We may even be a deciding force in who gets the presidential electors from up there.
They did roll over on the speed limit thing, though, so not all is well.... But comparatively, it's definitely the place to be. And it can only get better with asset deflation forcing CA and NY statists to pull back out and put off retirement for a decade or two.

Love it when people see the light. We had one customer today state that they voted for Ron Paul during the Primaries, but now is going to vote for Palin in the General Election. I quickly told him, she was not running for President, he responded by saying he was hoping McCain would croak. He asked who I was voting for, and I told him Chuck Baldwin, he told me that was a vote for Obama. My response to him was at least I was voting for a limited government, sound money candidate that actually represents my views, and not throwing my vote away like he was for McCain. Some people are so dumb, it's all about winning, and not principles.
At least they had pretty lame satirical criticisms. AOL just recently put RP in a picture alongside Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, so I wasn't really too surprised about this.

Please read and then get the book and decide for yourself.

Some time ago you asked about how I would define fascism. I gave an unsatisfactory answer and said I'd say more if I came up with
something better.
I'd recommend checking out this book, "Liberal Fascism " by Jonah
Goldberg. The introduction has a nice explanation of how he defines
fascism and why it's hard to define.
Part of the problem is that many people don't want it defined so it can be used as a generic label for "I disagree with that so I'll call if fascist". Stalin started doing that in earnest.
So far the book has been a great read. It goes through history of
fascism in the West. I didn't put two and two together before and
never really thought about how the Western fascist state matured in
the United States first, and then moved into Europe.
This validates my belief that the U.S. has been a fascist state for
decades, but I've been tenuous in that belief because I could never
nail down the word "fascism" very well.
At least get the book from your library and read the introduction
entitled "Everything You Know About Fascism Is Wrong".
Well, what do you expect? Ron Paul would be in there, too, with his shocking beliefs. Anyone who isn't a lemming is in there.

Definitions
I found a video online (maybe John Birch Society made, not sure) that used the following definitions for fascism and socialism:
Fascism is government control of capital (aka. regulation)
Socialism is government ownership of capital (aka. nationalization)
Those two definitions are the most useful and meaningful I've ever heard.
I haven't heard of them outside that video I saw.
