Rhino: An Obama presidency is a good thing

It will quicken the awakening…

We need the left…

As for me …

I cannot ethically vote for him, but …

I am praying for his victory …

It will prevent a violent uprising …

And it will disappoint …

These are all good things…

Bottom line …

The budget will be the same regardless …

So I hope for an Obama presidency...

I am also hoping for a 60 senate majority for the Dems.

I wouldn't call it 'good',...

yet I concur with you for this reason:

McSame would be Bad, because the cult of personality formed around BO is so intense, it is quite probable that messy riots and bloody revolt would come fast and quick. In such a situation, people all over would be mentally helter-skeltered dashing this way and that trading calmer logic and reason for frenzied emotional outbreak and low-thinking defense.

With Obama announced as President... and a transition to Office with all the bells and whistles... the "Left" will get theirs' same as the "Right" has already with the charlatan Bush.

After a much shorter while (I have no idea how ugly the parity must be such as to the Bush Administration)... but the 'let-down' of even a briefly intense Obama Administration WILL drive many people (yet in a diffuse manner) to deeply reconsider the corporate-person media and ill-body politic for it's MANY deleterious shortcomings... thus possibly, if there is a God of tough-love, a once divided Left/Right body of humanity might see across the chasm, thumb their nose at the sorcerers of dominance and slavery, and reunite our soul with understanding for the dignity of the individual AND respect for the same air we must ALL breath together.

Just not saying I think BO is a good thing... but maybe a natural course through this messy life we have today.

Peace, or I might just have ta kill ya for it.

I fully agree

I hope it is a complete landslide, although I will be writing in Ron Paul here in Oklahoma....where write ins aren't allowed. :O)

I am voting against every single person who voted for the bailout, all republicans in other words. I personally want to see the GOP implode so that we can pick up the pieces and craft our own Constitutional Republican Party.

Either way the next four to eight years is going to be complete hell, and McCain winning isn't going to help our cause overall. We need the GOP, and America to wake the hell up!

Perhaps

Perhaps an Obama administration will suck in some neocons, scatter the rest, and leave the Republican party open to a return to real conservatism.

Perhaps an Obama swan dive into New Deal Two will create such an economic disruption and so weaken the Federal government that the Union will fail and we can have some Ron Paul Republics break free from the collapsing mess as independent nations. This is the shiniest silver lining in my dreams.

But in any event, an Obama victory will cause McCain's head to explode. This will be entertaining for me, I am ashamed to admit.

I agree emphatically--just

I agree emphatically--just wasn't going to be the one to say it first.

Obama is better for the RP movement than McCain--this is quite logical if you think about it. We need Obama in Office to be able to take over the Republican party, or better yet, create a legitimate 3rd party platform.

I did not vote for Obama but I pray that he wins for this movement and its future.

Yes...

Real change will be demanded after false promises.

I agree. Obama won't

I agree. Obama won't "change" anything.

I'm going to enjoy telling all those anti-war democrats: "see, I told you Obama wasn't going to bring home all our troops and stop the wars."

Inflation will spiral out of control and we'll be able to spread our message of sound money and abolishing the fed.

We'll be strategically well positioned to win many house seats in 2010 and 2012.

I'm still voting for Baldwin.

Either way that stinking bag is still

going to be held by someone. Does it really make a difference who holds it? In my mind I am more concerned about the VP's that were chosen. ( Scares the crap out of me to think Palin could be President ).

It's no improvement-probably

It's no improvement-probably slightly worse than McCain being elected.

McCain would be a politically weak President with an angry public approval rating from Day One, and most likely with a gridlocked Congress. War and the economy will likely stay the same, and it's unlikely Obama will do anything to improve civil liberties.

strange but I feel the same way

I would never vote for the man, but deep down I want the Left to wake up. I think we can wake them up easier than some of these McCain idoits. If the conservatives haven't woken up at this point, nothing will wake them up.

I am going to send a certified letter to dick wadhams the head of the republican party of colorado tomorrow and tell him what a dumbshit he and his neocon buddies are for not giving Ron Paul fair treatment! if Ron would have been the nominee the Republican party would have won! also its time for the republican party to return to its roots! and that is truly to come back to conservativism!

I guess we will find out---

sooner or later. "Don't Blame Me--I voted for Ron Paul" bumper stickers should be popular!

I know

That's why I've had mine on since 9-04-08.

Not to be contentious, but

"I cannot ethically vote for him "yet you pray that others do ? Isn;t that a bit hypicritical,or is the act of praying, unethical ? Help me understand your rational. I do however disagree with your next point. I believe it will hasten a violent uprising, when he is taken out. No inside knowledge just an expectancey.

Because

you know that he is the lesser of two evils in some ways but that the evils that he will bring are unacceptable (and make it morally impossible to vote for him) but in the long run will enable our message to be heard clearer. As opposed to McCain who will be evil in ways that muddle our message.

Your next point: Then pray he isn't taken out, but replaced peacefully and constitutionally by one of us, either in 2012 or 2016. We can be patient. It will suck, but we will survive an 8~10 year depression, because we know it's coming.

Thanks for your reply,

but it still seems hypicritical to pray for something that one would not actively pursue ( by voting ). At any rate it's a non issue for me, because I'll always vote pricipal, which leaves out both major party canadates.

Is suspect Rhino

was using pray more figuratively than literally.

I, for one am voting Dr. Paul, but (kicking in realism here) hoping, but not praying (although I do believe in prayer), for an obama win. I think a McCain win has the dangerous effect of possibly turning off liberals to our ideas (free market liberalism) because McCain will say he's a free marketer when he's simply a cryptic supply-side, corporate-socialism, mercantilist.

The damage that the Democrats will do with a whole government will be no worse than the damage that an erratic McCain presidency will do.

To think, I once liked that guy. Perhaps it is providence that his awful character was so vividly revealed this election cycle than in the 2000 cycle, and that it took the Bush presidency (which, by the way I was an apologist for and even voted in in 2004) to wake me up and reveal to me, the depredations onto freedom that the Federal Government have suffered us since the FDR administration.

I'm finding out slowly the

I'm finding out slowly the more I know, the less I actually know.

These things I think I know:

-I have to further educate myself
-I have to educate others
-I have to hold the Republican Party accountable. Others will have to hold the Democratic Party accountable (wahor).
-I hold them accountable by making sure that their losses are so overwhelming that they have no choice but to listen to the paleos, the libertarians, the true conservatives, the constitutionalists, the min-archist, etc.

If that puts the Dems in control. So be it. My anger and my fury are absolute. My quarrel is not with the Dems, they have nothing for me. My quarrel is with the GOP leaders who claimed to represent me.

I think Obama is a socialist, period. And I hope he cleans McCain's clock.

I won't vote for Obama, but the GOP had 8 years to take a step towards smaller government, no nation building, up hold the constitution.

Even a meager fucking gesture, a nod of the head, a bread crumb, a bone...whatever, would probably have pacified me.

But it's too late now. I hope they all rot in hell. Excluding Ron Paul and his friends of course.
