Another Barr Traitor to Liberty & Paul's Cause

0 votes

canadafreepress.com - November 2, 2008, Former Ron Paul Senior Aide & Bob Barr backer, Eric Dondero, makes plea to Libertarians to back McCain/Palin

"This election year, I’ve been supporting Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr. As a matter of fact, I’m the very guy who recruited his running mate Wayne Root into the race. Since the Spring, I’ve been the Party’s lead petitioner around the Nation. I’ve collected tens of thousands of signatures to get Barr/Root on the ballot in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and Rhode Island."

...

"For these reasons, I am voting for McCain/Palin on Tuesday and I urge all of my Libertarian friends to do the same."

- Eric Dondero

Didn't see this sort of thing coming, did we?

Eric Dondero Self Described on His Website:

"In 2004, Dondero led the nationwide effort for Libertarians for Bush."

Isn't Libertarians for Bush an oxymoron?

He's had experience USING the Libertarian Party for the GOP.

"...worked and consulted for numerous campaigns nationwide including: US Senator Joe Lieberman..."

Joe Lieberman!

This guy is horrible.

I'll bet he was working for Ron Paul in order to keep a close eye on him.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

Screw U Eric Dondero

Backstabbing SOB...

Badmouthing Ron Paul and trying to get him out of office..

Go to Hell...
And Screw you Frank Lutz.....

This is why the establishment keeps doing what they do! When good people hold out to the very last minute and then cave in because of fear this is how THEY WIN!

A vote for either Obama or McCain is treason--to this country and your beliefs.

Please people, show some spine, vote 3rd party and stop with this childish crap!

I hope you aren't calling

I hope you aren't calling Dondero "good people".

Agreed on the treason part, of course.

McCain is Toast, he will loose big today

Conservatives should vote Baldwin or Barr and send a message.

Don't you understand what's going on here?

The Libertarian Party's "Lead Petitioner" is telling all Libertarians to vote for McCain, two days before the election.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

Yeah, He's an Ass - we need our own party

But, right now the best argument for a third party is because the election, in my bview, is not close, and 1-2% of the vote from libertarians will not make a difference. better for conservatives to vote libertarian, or Constitution party. There is no better time to vote your conscience, since McCain will loose big anyway.

Libertarians at least need

Libertarians at least need their own new party. This one is beyond saving.

The Libertarian Party is GOP Lite.

The Libertarian Party is GOP Lite at the moment. The reason why is because the party was never constitutionalist or Minarchist; its heart and soul were anarcho-capitalist.

Lacking any loyalty to anything but capitalism, it was ripe for a takeover by GOP political refugees, and this has happened at the worst of all possible times, during the Ron Paul Revolution.

The effect of this is going to be a rise in the fortunes of the Constitution Party--unless our movement creates its own party.

I think we should for 2010

Perhaps gaining disgruntled Libertarians and Greens.

Some sort of politically

Some sort of politically moderate party that is strongly constitutionalist is what is badly needed. No Left vs. Right paradigm..no socialism or religion...just loyalty to the REAL American dream..Liberty.

Eric Dondero is an

Eric Dondero is an establishment tool. Always has been.

Not surprised at all

Barr and Root are both wolves in sheep's clothing. Career politicians (egotistical liars) just like most of congress. It doesn't surprise me one iota that anyone associated with either of those campaigns would back McCain. Because of that I would hope the Libertarian party would give him the keel-haul for supporting someone whose policies are obviously waaaay out of line with their own beliefs. Ridiculous, yes. Surprised? Not a bit.

So who do you vote for?

You don't like the Libertarian Candidate,

I refuse to vote Republo-Crat

Doctor Paul told us to vote 3rd party.

So what are you going to do?

For me it's either, vote Bob Barr or Sit at Home and not vote at all.

I'd rather throw my vote towards Barr,
It'll have more effect over the next 4 years!

-what about you?

Ron Paul supports Chuck Baldwin

And it's more clear why, now more than ever before.

The GOP has taken over the Libertarian Party.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

Correct, and he doesn't

Correct, and he doesn't support Barr, and in my opinion, Ron Paul's showing his usual good judgement in this case.

Absolutely.

There should be no doubt now that Ron Paul was right about this.

As Ron Paul has proven - vote for the person, not the party.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

Barr sold us out by not standing with the other 3rd party

candidates. So he did not get my vote.

Lurked for about a year, but now from the shadows I have come.
