Election Day 2008
I gathered my research papers and headed out the door this morning (it was election day finally).I thought for sure that my BALDWIN for President 2008 would be the lone voice in a sea of McCain and Obama signs all over my precinct polling place. The first thing I noticed as I arrived is that there were no Presidential signs, there were local race signs but none for President.I saw a vote Democrat sign but that was as close as it came to a Presidential sign.Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon also? At first I thought it was just my precinct, but as I drove to work later I found that every precinct had no signs.I didn't know if it was because they had already decided the election or if a third party lawsuit had been brought against the Republicans and Democrats for not allowing thier signs to be included on the lawn.Suprise No. 2 came as I walked up to the polling place door, there were so few people there.Heck there were more people inline when I voted for Governor awhile back then were inline today. This at a time when the media is talking about record turnouts and such.To get a perspective of what should've been there I live in Dallas a city with a population of about 1.2 million. There were about 15 people in the line when I got there and another 15 or so inside already, about 30 in all,and when I left there were not big increasing crowds just a slow trickle. They opened the doors and I went inside and right away they had a problem with the counting machine. It seems it would not read the paper ballots.(Oh what a shame they have to do a hand count, just perfect in my book). I showed my I.D. and got my ballot, with a clear conscious I darkened in the circle for write-in below the REP,DEM and LIB circles in the Presidential race.I wrote in Chuck Baldwin, and continued to the United States Senator. Now my incumbent Senator is John Cornyn one who voted for the bailout and against everything I contacted him about.I went to the Libertarian circle and darkened in Yvonne Adams Shick and continued to the US Representative District 30.Eddie Bernice Johnson...well well well my representative who never represents me and votes with party lines and against my intrest 99.99% again drop to the Libertarian circle and darkened in Jarret Woods and on to Railroad Commissioner.Darkened in the Liberatarian circle for David Floyd and on to the State Board of Education. No Lib's here but someone running against the incumbent Democrat,so I darkened in the Republican circle for Cindy Werner.Oh then I saw another beautiful sight State Senator,District 23 and Democrat incumbent Royce West ,yeah time for Royce to hit the road,I darkened in the Libertarian circle for Jim Renfro and moved on to State Representative District 100 and Terri Hodge the incumbent Democrat (need change, change is coming).I darkened in the Libertarian circle for Robert M. Pritchett and on to the County Tax Assessor David Childs the Republican incumbent. As long as I'm hitting three for three I darkened in the John R. Ames Democrat circle. And my County Commissioner Precint No. 3 was next he ran unopposed so I did nothing I didn't grace him with my vote I just left it blank,as I did with the Sheriff's race.I left for work having voted for at least 4 different parties and did not vote for any incumbent. This has been a long fight here at the DP and elsewhere,I thank all the Paulites and I think we have fought the good fight these past few months.I would have liked to been able to vote for Dr. Paul as the Republican candidate as that didn't happen I hope I have done him proud.I've learned so much about things pertaining the political structures in this Country and the situations we are faced with in trying to bring a Constitutional form of Government back to the United States. However this election turns out remember we fought the good fight and we will live to fight again.May God bless Ron Paul and his loyal supporters.

Of all the People
I voted for today it seems that only one person may actually unseat one of the incumbents.Of all the seats it is the Tax Assessor,LOL. My precinct reported there were only 4 write in votes for President at my precinct. One was mine but it didn't say who it was that was written in.All the other races I'm stuck with the same non-representation I've had for years....
