There is no "Mandate" ...

I've already heard 3 times that there's a "mandate"... 51% to 48% doesn't establish a mandate.
BTW, had streets blocked off by police tonight on the way home, in a small midwestern town. Couple thousand college kids walking down the middle of the street, cheering and yelling, people from the windows, even had a black guy look right at me and yell "fuck you!", completely unprovoked. It was surreal.

Welcome to Rwanda
It could get crazy.
Yes there is...
when his party takes full control of both houses as well with large gains on each side and close to a filibuster proof senate.
It's funny how we get 10% in a primary and it's a "revolution" but when someone takes 52% of the national vote he doesn't have a mandate. Look, I don't like the guy but it's over and he's the man now, dog.
Common usage of the term "mandate"
requires a large majority, but technically, you're right he definitely has the authority to take this country over the cliff. If he is really eligible to be president, that is.
52% is not a mandate
There will probably be a lot of damage done, but there will be a TON of resistance as well. It's time for the supporters of this "Re-distributionist" to argue about the real issues we're facing, instead of just "hope", "change" and nonsense. It's time to educate the people who just elected this guy based on a slogan.
yes, he is the man now. But the ignorance and naivety that elected him will wither, and an enlightened populace will emerge from the ashes of our Constitutional Republic.
"You are a den of Vipers.I intend to rout you out and by the Eternal God I will rout you out."
For an informed citizenry, individuals must discard the television set in favor of the acquisition of information via either books and/or the internet. An uneducated populous will remain in ignorance and thus continue to suffer the sharp ax of tyranny.
