***Rand Paul 2012***
Submitted by Lacandy on Wed, 11/05/2008 - 05:07
We have our work cut out for us.
Let's get started folks --- He can continue his father's (Our) R3VOLution message/mission with our support.
»

How about he runs for some
How about he runs for some other office first so he actually has some experience first.... because if we're just going to start running average citizens how about me in 2012? You see how stupid that sounds?
While the message is what counts, we have to remember reality.... the majority, you know, the dozens of millions of people who vote, care about experience.
It's simply not realistic to pick Rand Paul for president.... maybe for Congress or some local/state office.
Rand For Kentucky Governor
I would like for him to run for office before making a presidental run. IMO

I agree

Sounds great to me!
Rand talks just like his dad. Could he run on the lndependent, libertarian, Constitution party ticket? We need to combine all of the 3rd partys to one party and then we might get somewhere. Can you run on a Republican ticket and third party tickets If each group would chose Rand?
bump

I say start working on 2010
Still too many congressmen and senator who are neocons and voted for the bailout. We need to get paper ballots hand count at precincts. Get rules/ laws changed for 3rd party candidates and recalling elected officials for states who don't have the law to recall elected officials. Maybe get the GOP back to its original position. Also keep in the background persons who we get get on a Ron Paul platform for 2012 and getting organized. We need to keep on our elected officials on every bill coming to the floor.
a bump
.
hopefully in 4 years everyone in this move realizes something
that it's a waste of time to vote. everyone here claims to be enlightened. yet many of us still go vote even though we know the machines are hacked. we know that even if we win we lose like we did in Nevada. and those of us who went to state and national conventions know that they change the rules at the drop of a hat to suite their needs.
so i'd like somebody to explain why we should continue playing by their rules. Ron Paul lost, BJ Lawson lost and so did every other "Ron Paul" Republican. even if BJ won that would only give us 2 guys out of over 300.
i don't see how more people don't agree with Lew Rockwell and simply stop participating in these sham elections. we all know it's a joke. you see thread after thread on here about this topic. yet all the "enlightened" people still want to believe their vote counts. IT DOESN'T

So how would you suggest we go about changing things so that we can get fair elections again?
Two questions:
1. For President?
2. On which party?

Thanks for the Word...
I really didn't know much about him so I just researched him. Found this youtube link.
He is a vibrant younger Ron Paul...
Thanks for getting this started.

He should
go for congress in KY in 2010, not sure if there would be a senate position.
But if you meant Rand Paul for president in 2012, please forget it. I have a high regard for him, but he does not have any elected political office yet or
experience. Focus on Gary Johnson for president in 2012, in case Dr. Paul would not offer him in the race again. Gary has executive experience running a business plus a times governor in a swing state, and smart, and good looking, 55 years old and principled, in short the ideal choice. Dr. Paul also let him speak at the R4R for this exact reason, to "promote" him. He impressed me highly.
good article on Johnson from 2001

Yes, forget it
Nice guy and he has his father's views but enough of dynastic politics already. He has no experience. There is no good reason to accord him rock star status or any support and funding for a Presidential race.
I agree, it would be nice if
I agree, it would be nice if he could get a house seat in kentucky first, to build up his political experience, then run for president in 2016 perhaps?
He would have my vote
