Ron Paul for Texas governor?

Any thoughts? I know that would be a first great step in defeating the NAU.

Paul was asked about it a while ago by a supporter and he asnwered in the negative. He is interested in dealing what lead him to politics in the first place: the Fed etc., so governor is not interesting to him. What he could do, is to run for senator in the place of Kay Hutchison, who wants to be governor. He run for senate in 1984 already.
MAN WAS I DELUSIONED
When the "normal" Ron Paul supporters (regular people) left we tore each other apart -- The ones who remained were die-hard Minarchists/Libertarians, Truthers (not that they couldn't be Minarchists or Libertarians, just that they focused a lot of Daily Paul energy on 911), and The Obama/McCain Trolls.
So I was thinking -- When the election is over the losers will leave and the strategists will remain; but this is not going to happen with posts like this. You all are still throwing hail-mary end zone passes -- "Treasury Secretary"
We need to go back to our local Meetups and focus on City and County (80%) and (20%) on State -- Let go of the Central Gov't 4th-and-long drives until 2010 and 2012.
We need to take our time and find a leader the people will know and rally behind (assuming Obama screws up worse than Bush - if he does marginally better he will win again in 2012 - easy).
A smart "attractive" middle aged man or woman who is well known -- Could be a "convert" or better yet someone out of the public eye or politicial arena with a proven track record.
We have to realize it might take us 20 years to tactically turn this boat -- I've been in this since '88 so you youngins got a lot to learn about steadfastness.

I wouldn't hesitate to get up and move to Texas if Ron Paul took office as Governor and seceded from the Union. What a dream come true that would be. As we all know the federal government would never allow it. But, it sure would be a great way to show the rest of them how its done when Texas prospers as the Union and the world market collapses.
I still say, "Draft Ron Paul for Treasury Secretary"...
Obama just might go for it. That way, as the world economy continues to tank, he could let Ron Paul take the blame. However, if Dr. Paul turned it around, Obama could take the credit and win another four years.
Dr. Paul just might go for it, as well. He's smart enough to turn the tables on just about anybody.
Kay Bailey Hutchison has already hinted that she's interested
in being the gov. She's a pro-bailout vote, just like Cornyn (he was re-elected yesterday).

Real Texans still want a provision in our state constitution to have the right to secede from the Union if If the FED abuses it's power like it's been doing for the last 40 years. The problem is the International Corporations that own our state and federal representatives and the news that is forced on the public.
Those times are coming to an end though, more and more truth is being spread through our great state about the use of the delta force in Waco by presidential directive and the TTC being forced down our throats for NAFTA and the SPP.

MONTANA has that provision and...
this state can secede if the 2nd amendment is taken away. That almost happened with the recent 5-to-4 Supreme Court decision regarding the right to bear arms.

Actually I lived in Texas for 28 years. (overseas for 3 Air force brat) I know about the Trans Texas corridor, & the toll road being operated by foreign developers. (Cintra) And yes, I think Ron Paul would have a strong force behind him. You don't think that Dr. Paul would enforce any provisions in regard to of succeeding from the Union? Why wouldn't he be the man to have represent us? You think pretty boy Perry would do it? He's been bought and sold. He wouldn't have ever made it to Austin if Bush hadn't appointed him.
So I don't know what your definition of a Texan is, but I sure as hell am. Born and raised.

He says the issues that concern him are national in scope, and being the governor of a single state would not advance his agenda at all.
Which is true. Not much one can do about monetary policy, foreign wars, empire building, and such, as a governor.

Actually.... I he were to win the governor seat and declared sovereignty from the federal government and started to balance the budget in texas and not receive fed funding it would be a huge step for the rest of the states to follow suite.
