Went to the local silver/gold store.. and was asking about prices today.. he said silver is selling at 4.00 over spot and his gold (coins) are at $100.00 over spot. He said there is no silver or gold... that is why it is so high!!
Anyone have a better deal?? or has anyone bought sliver or gold on the market (commodity exchange) and gotten delivery ??

After being a long Time DP member......everyone here does not recommend the SLV ETF......but I bought it. You can buy silver at spot.

Went to a coin show last weekend and bought ounces of silver at $14. Spot that day I believe was 9.86 or somewhere right there.
I wasn't looking at gold but I did see 1/10 at $95. It was actually a 100% recycled coin made from old jewelry. Pretty cool actually. It was stamped with the 100% recycling mark.
I got Gold
The guy that holds my mortage on my church bldg is a metals guy. When gold was at 887, I got it for 925.

Gold (and Silver) Leaves Coin Shops So Fast
Last week I saw a Maple Leaf in the local coin store in Folsom, CA. (I have bought several Maple Leafs and Krugerands in recent weeks.) I talked with the owner a few minutes and within 5 minutes somebody walked in asking for the Maple Leaf. He sells silver eagles as the come in, no junk other than occasionally the $100 to $500 worth comes in. He has began offering about a percent or two over spot because he can get a large premium.

my dealer that I use has been sold out of Silver for over 2 months and has limited amounts of Gold daily. Limited, he told me, meant that he sometimes has up to 4 ozs in his entire store but then is quickly bought up. I've been shopping at his biz for over a year. He's a huge RP fan and he has banned the word Bernanke from being used within his store.
I posted a few craigslist ads and got some "junk silver" at great deals. just another suggestion - tap into the "sheeple" network :)

That's not such a bad deal
Last time I bought, when spot was around $750.00, I ended up paying $900.00 for a maple leaf. I did better on silver, getting 5 refinery rounds for $1.50 over spot each.
