Did Nevada Assemblywoman Lisa Marie Johnson say: I believe that Ron Paul divided this party?
Updated: Based on Jdayh request below, I changed the title and left the question open if what is being reported in this article is right or wrong.
"Please update your thread... it appears she/Lisa Marie... did not say that
and the newspaper misquoted her.. She has posted as much down below. If this is true it is slanderous to continue with your thread title....(at
least put an UPDATED on it.)
I think any of us would want the same done if we were in this situation.
(I am not saying she did or did not say that..just that it is fair to post
her version of the story. that is all)
Thanks
Jdayh"

After a series of national and local losses, a lingering feeling of defeat describes the mood of the Nevada Republican Party's election night party at the Palazzo Las Vegas Tuesday night.
Aside from the drunken slurs and grumbling following the announcement that Barack Obama was the president-elect, discussion revolved around the simple question: What went wrong?
"There has been a swing in the political pendulum," said Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons. "Both parties were seeking a win and both worked very hard, but the people have spoken."
And spoken they have, as Obama won both the electoral and the popular vote.
Some attribute Obama's success to the fact that he can relate so well to young people.
"He is a very energetic and dynamic speaker," said Nevada Assemblyman John Hambrick. "That's what the Republican Party needs more of."
In addition, some feel that the Republicans have drifted away from not only their policies, but from one another.
"I believe that Ron Paul divided this party," said Nevada Assemblywoman Lisa Marie Johnson.
"He damaged the values of this party and has instilled a sense of distrust in young voters."

Please!
Please don't be so hard on Lisa Marie Johnson. I believe she was totally misquoted in this article. I was a Clark County NV delegate and she was a very active Ron Paul supporter that probably put in more work than 90% of the other RP supporters in the state for his cause. I cannot excuse her vote for McCain as a delegate besides the fact that I know other RP supporters (Some threatened with physical harm) were forced to delegate for McCain at the national convention.

Please...
Give me a break. "forced to delegate for McCain" "threatened with physical harm." What were they going to do? Beat them up? Throw them under the bus? Oh, that's right they threw us under the bus instead. You insult our intelligence. No one was forced to do anything. They did this of their own free will. Gee, just own it.. and personally I do not believe Ms. Johnson, not one iota. She said what she did to stay in good graces with her neocon cronies. Well, good luck with that, Ms. Johnson.
Thanks for bringing that article to light

I see the Rebel article has been edited to state that she lost her bid for the assembly seat.
However, THERE is no retraction of what she said about RP.
Did she not say that she has asked the Rebel to retraction of that statement?

Hmm, interesting. Wonder if she will reply to this.
I wouldn't be so quick to
I wouldn't be so quick to apologize. Lisa Marie was rejected from the RP meetup group for her betrayal of voting for McCain in MSP. It would not surprise me that she harbors resentment of the movement to some degree.
When Wayne Terhune organized the reconvened State Convention in NV, Lisa Marie did her best to derail it. Made a huge effort. Was right there in league with Bob Beers.
Simply, she is not to be trusted.

RON PAUL 2012
Answer: The Champion of the Constitution
"We shall have world government whether or not you like it, by conquest or consent." Statement by Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member James Warburg to The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 17th, l950
Ron Paul is my President.
I could sue but
...it would take a long time and a ton of money to sue everyone who's said false things about me. Unfortunately, the Ron Paul people have told harsher lies than the press. Facts have been distorted and partial truths evolved into ridiculous statements like the game of telephone when you were a kid. It feels worse when coming from people who stick to their principles, than those who don't. Whether it's me or someone else, stick together when they try to divide, rather than turn on each other. Don't automatically believe what they say. If you doubt one of your own, call 'em up and ask for the truth one on one. They want to divide you, do not let that happen. Regardless, I still believe in the ideals our country was built on. I wish I could say the same for the party leadership. However, the Republican party is the largest PAC for conservatives and the only one with the means to get people elected to high offices consistently. We need to remain in the party even when they don't want us there. Show up even when they don't tell us about meetings. Stay informed. Get involved. Speak out.

ask for a retraction from the publication. Go on the radio and deny this is what you said. This is an insult to your integrity and reputation. If I was misquoted to this degree you better believe I would do everthing in my power to make it right. I don't really see you doing this and I wonder why? All I hear from you is bascially, it's alright I have thick skin. Well, no it's not alright. This quote is so far out of context of what you claim you said, the reporter must have been drunk when you said it. Also, could you elaborate on this sentence and please give an example, "Unfortunately the Ron Paul people have told harsher lies then the press." Thanks..

HOLD YOUR HORSES. I never said the things this writer claims I said. In fact, I said the opposite - that the party was divided because they ignored the Ron Paul supporters and kept out hard working conservatives. That the huge losses we saw across the nation including the white house were precisely because the party lost its way and needed to return to its conservative roots and the will of the people. I also commented that it was time to draw in the youth whose rebel spirit could relate to the founding fathers. This goes to show that all media is corrupt.

Also, I was seated at the convention in place of another Ron Paul supporte who had already voted. All I did was uphold his decision. If you have questions, please call me at 413-2415

Ron Paul divided the party??
It's droll that the only republican presidential candidate who adheres to every one of the republican party principles should be accused of dividing the party. McCain, on the other hand, appears to observe none of those principles, insisting over and over he would "reach across the aisle" for compromise with liberal democrats. And Ron Paul's accuser is a republican assemblywoman! McCain's republican party loyalty revolves around only two issues: Total victory in the middle east implying massive destruction to its inhabitants, and right to life. He preaches small government but as a senator practiced big and intrusive government.
The crossroads of the republican party is quite clear. Either it is a party of principle which demands that any candidate running under the republican banner place principle first and foremost, either the party rejects any candidate whose platform violates published party principles, OR it a party without principle which accepts any and all candidates who choose to select the party as its election vehicle.
The next year will see a fight for the soul of the republican party. It appears there is no compromise between the two sides. One of us will win. The other needs to form a new party.

world government
My family risked too much in too many wars to throw away the constitution and its guarantee of personal liberty to enable members of the CFR to promote themselves into a financial aristocracy which founding fathers Jefferson and Hamilton and Franklin, and a later aristocratic rebel, Teddy Roosevelt, warned about. The constitution will not be overthrown without a mortal battle.

Wow the article is still the same.
No changes from its original writing, If I was a Ron Paul supporter and someone quoted me as saying these things about the Dr. I would be calling for a retraction, I would have something posted on my facebook and myspace denying that I said what was printed. I dont see anything that leads me to believe that she is making any kind of public denial other than the response to someone that is posted here. Strikes me kinda funny.
Wow. Seems we trusted the lies from the media over
a fellow RP supporter. Were her words twisted on purpose? To cause the reaction it obviously did?
As someone else so eloquently asked, "RP is such a sensible man, why are so many of his followers so irrational?"

In our defense, after first apologizing to Lisa Marie
sorry Lisa Marie, this article was printed in more than one place and she was quoted. Does this mean it is reasonable to think all DP people are misquoted and there is no such thing as a mole? That is not logical to my mind. If she is misquoted, she has recourse and at the very least she should demand a retraction. Also, that article said that she was "Assemblywoman"...but I understand she did not win her candidacy. Anyone know if that is true? If it isn't true, why didn't she clarify that, too? I don't mean to distrust the woman, but she also sat in a delegate's seat as an alternate and voted for McCain...would you have? I wouldn't, I would have voted for Dr. Paul...though when running for a position yourself, I guess you would not have endeared yourself to the NV GOP. Just things to ponder. In the interim, Lisa Marie, we're glad you set us straight.
IT'S DOABLE

My apologies to Lisa Marie Johnson
I judged you based on bad information. Everything I said about you turns out to be a lie; and, for that, I am truly sorry.
However, everything I said about the GOP establishment is absolutely true.
The party hasn't simply "lost its way," it is corrupt beyond belief. Only the removal of the corrupt will save it. Those people should be banned from party membership for life as a lesson to future transgressors.
