Electoral College - THIS RACE IS NOT OVER! - Do you know this?

0 votes

When votes are cast for a President and Vice President, people are actually voting for presidential electors, known as the electoral college. It is these electors who elect the President.

The Monday after the second Wednesday in December (December 15th of this year) is when the electoral college gets together to vote. They are expected, but not required, to vote for the candidates they represent. Separate ballots are cast for President and Vice President. The electoral vote results are not counted (or declared) until a joint session of Congress, held on January 6 of the year after the election. A majority of electoral votes (currently 270 of 538) are required to win."

Until those electors meet on December 15, 2008, cast their vote and those votes are counted on January 6, 2009, Obama is not the next president.

A lot could happen between now and then....like the lawsuits, a national emergency, or whatever.

what do you think about that?

makes no difference

i wish people would figure this out. game....over..... it's not hard to understand.

they've anointed their guy. barring a major catastrophe or national emergency (real or faked) that suspends the process entirely, he's as good as in. too many people want him in there.

even if the EC doesn't go for him and they choose someone else, do you have any idea how irate the obama nuts would become? no- to prevent any big problems, they'll go with whoever won the beauty contest and not make waves. they always do.

this is just more desperate grasping at straws.
