A New New World for Liberty!
Liberty-lovers,
During the dark tyrannies of Europe there was hope to settle on a new mysterious land. They called this land of freedom the 'New World'. While it does not seem like we have this possibility today I am happy to inform everyone that WE DO! The sea is unclaimed (for now until the UN does something stupid) and there is a project under way to create a New World based on the principles of Liberty! The founder of the SeaSteading institute is a libertarian and is fed up with what we are getting so they are setting up man-made islands with virtually free energy to settle on!

I know we should take this country back but if the Obamabots take over everything with breathing taxes and the like we will have to leave and set an example once again. Hopefully either this or the free state project works.
Who will protect?
I didn't see any mention of security. Who will protect and defend the seasteads from foreign powers... or pirates for that matter? Seems these units would still be dependent on an external force to protect them.
Economically, trade would still be necessary - What about currency?
Would there be a gold standard?
It seems to me that it would be a bit boring living out on that platform. If you wanted to hike on a mountain, enjoy nature beyond the sea, or whatever, you gotta go back to the mainland.

seaweed is one of the healthiest foods. Fish is also. You need a source of money, probably fishing would be your best option and you will be classified as a terrorist so you will need to find safe harbor to buy wheat, flour, rice, etc. And of course sell your catch.
