For Fellow Marines on Nov. 10th: HAPPY BIRTHDAY

0 votes

This may be a bit off topic here, but my apologies. I noticed a thread earlier mentioning our birthday.

To my fellow Marines:

This has been a long road for us and it’s going to get longer. We have a hell of a hump ahead of us in the coming years. Get that moleskin packed- it’s gonna be rough.

Many of the things our misguided young brothers have done are atrocious and against our principles, the principles that were drilled into us the day we stood on the yellow footprints, and all due to those who are above our pay grade. Those core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment must ring true now more than ever before, and through the misdeeds of elite few, those values are withering away. It is up to the Old Corps to keep those values alive now, or there will be no one left to remember them.

On our birthday, I will be attending the banquet in my area in full dress along with a lot of others, and we are having one last formal ceremony. Do me a favor:

Take time on Monday- have a drink, and with reverence think back and remember where we come from. Remember our oath, and what we were truly bred for in Tun Tavern, not the sickening bastardization that the world sees now. We were bred to fight for this country, and above all to protect the freedom we hold dear against those who would take it away from us. Never forget our roots. Never let that Eagle, Globe and Anchor become tarnished with the failure to uphold our duty.

I will be thinking of you all on Monday. Semper Fidelis.

Happy Birthday to the Marine Corp. Thank you for all that you

do for our country. I salute you! (At ease) Do the drill sgts still call people "maggot"? Just curious.

I don't remember being called maggot...

... but what I do remember being called is probably illegal to post in 50 states.

Time to don my Blues and head out for the ceremony. Just wanted to give one last bump to the thread for the night owls to wish my brother and sister Marines a happy birthday.

wow

great post. happy b-day Marines. i hope more are like you.

My Father's son:

My dad was a marine, I grew up in a marine house. I was told that if he wanted my opinion, he would give it to me. And all the things that go with growing up with a marine corp drill instructor. He was, and still is, at 78 years old, a very hard, strong willed man. He raised 5 children to be very strong willed also.
I once spent four years fighting with an insurance company and they thought I would eventually give up. My brothers laughed and just said, they don't know who they're dealing with. I admire that never give up spirit and even though I never joined the military, (I believe I was not adaptable) I too have that same spirit and am glad there are many. I only hope and pray that they are on the side of truth and honest freedom when the dung hits the rotary oscillator.
Happy birthday Marines.

I tried to

join The Marines when I was 17 but was never given a chance. At any rate happy birthday and know that we are counting on you our oath takers to remember it was to the constitution not a government.
