This is a common refrain.
Almost every public figure, from the president on down, invokes " God bless America " at the end of their speeches.
Looking at the current state that America is in, I'm thinking:
Either, there is no God, or ....
He's not listening ! ( maybe He's hearing-challenged ! )
Possibly, some "Christian" can give a Biblical reference to show that, somehow, eventually, possibly, maybe, everything is going to be alright for America !

Now that said, I have never understood why some Christians put stickers on their cars that say 'God Bless America'! What is that about? We are all connected around this world. When something awful happens in other areas of our planet, we are all affected. To say God Bless America just shows ignorance to me.

God - the spirit that created all the univers - billions of planets, has even a second to think about what is happening in this tiny planet in a tiny galaxy so far out of the main part of the universe???

Who are 'the people' ?
Some people think that "God is on our side".

"America" in this sense represents a dwindling philosophy...
If you have ever lived in a foreign country you begin to understand the word "Culture". Almost all of the other countries of the world are held together by thousands of years of a CULTURE. It is not something you learn it is part of your core, and it makes up a large part of how one understands the world. It is the "glue" that holds a people together. A culture includes not simply the music, dress, customs, foods, religion and ethnicity of an area. It defines the way the people see themselves and their place in the universe. It develops over centuries and is part of the CORE of the people who live in that country. As an "outsider" you can live in a country for decades, and learn their ways and respect their traditions, but you can NEVER BE who they are (Japanese, Chinese, Mexican) because you are not from their Culture, and you THINK and see the world differently. The "glue" that holds their souls together does not stick to you.
This issue of "Culture" is something that most Americans do not understand, and thus, you have US Presidents who think that they can impose "democracy" on other countries, with no understanding of the people they are dealing with.
"America" was a country that was a huge experiment. It was NOT based on a thousand year Culture. It combined people of hundreds of different Cultures onto a single continent. And the "glue" that bound these peoples together was a PHILOSOPHY. They had no common music, dress, dances, foods, religions, but rather hundreds of different backgrounds from hundreds of different Cultures. But the GLUE - the cohesiveness that made this "America" was a common belief in the PHILOSOPHY of FREEDOM that had never been tried in the history of mankind.
The PHILOSOPHY of "America" was the ONLY "Culture" that bound the people together. They could overlook their differences in tradition, as long as they all clung to this philosophy as the cohesive force.
What has gone wrong in "America" is that slowly but surely the philosophy has disappeared. Therefore, what we are left with is simply a large LAND MASS, filled with people with various and different ideas, with NOTHING HOLDING THEM TOGETHER. This is why things have gone downhill. And THIS is why restoring the message of freedom is so important. WITHOUT THIS PHILOSOPHY HOLDING THE PEOPLE TOGETHER THERE IS NO GLUE.... THERE IS NO "AMERICAN CULTURE" ....THERE IS NO COHESION. The message of freedom is the ONLY thing that will make this land mass AMERICA again. - by definition.
The "bad guys" knew this. They have done their best to destroy the PHILOSOPHY of freedom, and thus, have aggressively enhanced our DIFFERENCES so that we are constantly seeing each other in groups of "friend or foe". They have divided us so easily because without the philosophy of freedom we never DID have anything in common.
When people say "God Bless America" it is the Philosophy that America followed that they are referring to. But when the Philosophy disappears the phrase loses all meaning. It MUST start to mean more than a land mass again. That is what we are fighting to restore. We are the ONLY HOPE that there will BE an "America" again. We are the ones who must restore the "American Culture" with the philosophy of Freedom... the ONLY common ground the people of America ever had. Without it we are only a geographic location full of lost people who, having no culture of their own any more, randomly divide into groups and try to gain an identity that is not their CORE.

They say "God bless America"
but what God are they invoking? Every religion talks about God but not all this talk is about Jesus the King of kings, The Lord of lords. As far as blessing America, which one are they talking about? Is it the one the Constitution talks about or the corporate America?
Jesus will not bless America if we do not do our part and bless Jesus. GWB proclaims to believe in God,talks to God, receives instructions from "God" but what God does he talk to? He has said all gods are the same. That is simply not true, I have come to realize Jesus is God after looking elsewhere for sometime.
I wish I could tell you everything will be alright for America, but because of freewill and the refusal by many to be ruled by anyone and the fact that so many atrocities have been carried out in Gods name that people will not accept the true message of Christ.
I will recognize people have their bill of rights which includes the freedom to believe in what they see fit and I will continue to let them have the chance to know the True God as the Bible and I see it.
The way I see it is, The rapture seems to be at the door, that's when the believers in Christ meet him in the clouds and we gain our spiritual body. After the rapture occurs the 7 year Tribulation begins. First there will be 3 1/2 years of world peace along with a one world religion( as in we all pray to the same god bunk we have today) followed by 3 1/2 years of war culminating in Armageddon. At that time Jesus with his church will come to earth (the 2nd coming) and put a stop to it all.
The world will not end, only the age in which we live. After Armageddon Jesus and his followers will rule on earth for 1000 years. This 1000 years I believe is the chance for non believers to accept Jesus as Savior. After the 1000 years Jesus and the church will be set up in the Kingdom of the new Heaven and new Earth. That being said THE EARTH WILL ALWAYS BE HERE! Just not the corruption we have on earth while sin has an influence over us.
All you people who try to disprove the Bible by reading other books are only fooling yourselves. Not only read the Bible but study it. Listen to those who can properly translate the Bible instead of all these new age bibles which have improper translations in them.

...and God is the Spirit within you, not some controlling force from without. Take pride in this beautiful Spirit within and take pride in America for it has been a guiding light in the world for the spirit of freedom of choice.
America fought one REVOLUTION against world bankers and won.
But the International bankers kept working and infested America with the Federal Reserve. So they won by sneaking in the back door when we were not looking.

Reminds me of a video I saw once of Shirley McClain running on the beach screaming "I am God".... That's like claiming you are "electricity"...LOL...stick your finger in a socket and you'll find out if you are electricity or not. You are not the power source...you are but a receptacle of the power. Man is a receptacle for God...but he is not the originating force. Man can choose to receive...and respond to...but he cannot "produce" the power. If he could, he could simply pray to himself and spout blessings all across America.

as you have said, like an electric current in a circuit. We are conscious energy beings (circuits) which contain energy and consciousness from God the Creator.
We are sent forth to experience and evolve in awareness, bringing more of God consciousness and energy into us as we evolve. We create our own reality by our thoughts.

The illusion is what we have created for ourselves here on earth. God gave us the earth as a platform for soul evolution and invested a part of himself in us all. We were given free will to do with it what we wanted and God would not interfere in our lives unless we asked him to.
For us to learn God supplied the laws of the universe which include the laws of "cause and effect" or "as you sow, so shall you reap" (Galatians 6:7) or "the law of karma" which would be the more Eastern name for the same thing. The goal of life would be to emulate and externalize God (the God flame place within us), become more of God (or Christ) ourselves and eventually become one with the creator having overcome our human foibles (or illusions). As Jesus said: "What I do shall ye do also and greater things shall ye do because I go unto my father" (John 14:12).
I believe God has given of himself in all the world's religions and they may be seen as different pathways to the same goal. Like somebody said, "the bad guys" are the ones trying to divide us and create enmity between different religions and people bringing us further away from God instead of uniting us under a flame of freedom where we respect the individuality and free will choice of each person to worship and seek God and happiness as he/she sees fit as long as not interfering with the free will and ability to do the same for another person.

Well, maybe God gave us free will
to choose our own destiny... "To be or not to be" as Shakespeare so eloquently puts it in Hamlet question. We choose by our own free will to follow the plan and vision that He has for His creation. He did not want to force us to accept his plan but gave us the option to do so if we want to. What we do is up to us but we are still under the impersonal law of having to reap what we sow. Thus, if we don't like the condition we are in, we can change it by starting to change ourselves.
Though I may consider myself a Christian, I also believe in reincarnation, that God gives us more than just one opportunity to improve ourselves and "get it right". I believe that Jesus came to set an example for us to follow to easier find our way back to God. By following in his footsteps we to can fulfill his mission for ourselves... not a "bunch of hogwash" but a road map back to God so to say.
Maybe the imperfection we see is the imperfection we ourselves have created and it is also our job to uncreate the bad creation we have made by previous wrong choices. We clean up our own mess instead of leaning upon others to do it for us. What socialism does is to take away the incentives to work and be rewarded for our own endeavors while freedom, private property rights etc. gives the soul the incentive to improve and work for a better living ourselves.
The founding fathers of this nation did acknowledge the Creator and the United States of America was founded on a Judeo Christian tradition with perhaps the God inspired idea of Freedom as the basis for the people of this nation. See it as the individual creativity of each person filling in and making the most of the opportunity as he/she sees it. A totalitarian society on the other hand can never reach the same level of success with central planning as it does not allow for this spark of individual creativity and freedom.
The control freaks i.e. international bankers etc. in their corrupt ways have probably left off from serving God and their fellow man and instead tries to steal and live off the work of others through any number of schemes such as socialism, communism, central banking, capitalism etc. In this sense capitalism meaning greed through a love for money more than the love for God and fellow man. Christianity and the Bible gives rules and instruction for a principled living that brings us closer to God. See it as a crutch if you like, but not one for people who cannot handle reality. Rather one that brings people back to reality :-)
