How about Gary Johnson, former NM governor? He sounded great at the Rally for the Republic.

They need a new message or at least to return to and keep the roots of Republicanism which is Libertarianism and not the tired old rhetoric.

Depending on the platform, Newt would be o.k. Newt is very rational and forward thinking. For me it hinges on one thing.

Inclusives, instead of catering to the religous inquisitors in their purging of witchcraft from the land. "The war on cannabis and the heathen hippie nature lovers." They need to embrace personal liberty and responsibility and the best way to demonstrate that is to affirm the rights of those you don't necessarily agree with.

Quite Honestly I think Paris Hilton would do a better job than anyone they listed other than Newt.

But, Until the Republicans address end their religous war of aggression against cannabis and sick people, feeling they are G-d over others bodies, I will NEVER vote for them Again.

Romney and Huckabee both told sick paraplegics they would put them in jail. That is sick, arrogant, and evil.

They're fools if they think they can win against the person who beat them in a landslide with the same people and the same platform.

However, this article offers good insight into their plans. Thank God we have the Campaign for Liberty.... while the other candidates are making book tours, we'll already be campaigning, educating, getting ourselves out there as candidates, etc.

We need to step up our actions though- just as these politicians are evidently putting plans in place, so must we do the same..... no offense, but Ron Paul was kind of bad at campaigning.... he'd go to a state and only make 1 or 2 stops and then leave.... I think it's great that so much was left up to the grassroots, but there definitely needs to be more from the actual campaign.

Ron Paul has already been invited to C-PAC. Many of those most prominent politicians will have been out of office by the time 2012 comes around, which I think is good for us. We also have to take into account that not all of them will run.... from what I understand, many plan to retire.

I don't believe any of them can win.... not against Obama... even if he does a terrible job, he's convinced people that whatever he says or does is good, and these people are obsessed.... Still, given the right message, I think a conservative Republican could beat him.... but he has to be Ron Paul or someone like him who's been consistent, principled, and is a true conservative.... from the choices in the article, none, except for possibly Sanford, really meet that criteria.

So, hopefully we can count on the C4L to give us good direction... we're going to need to continue to work just as hard/harder than we did during the primaries to lay the groundwork for success... even if Ron Paul doesn't run in 2012, we'll want people educated and ready so that we don't get stuck with another neo-con/moderate.
