Agents amoung us.

Seems the change agents are plain out in the open.

The MOST POWER is obtained during change.

They're going to inject this notion of changing the Constitution.

NO.

How about using the current fully functioning constitution
to hang the treasonous.

All problems will dry up immediately.

Only one state

is needed for a secession. Set a good example and be the first, and maybe all the others will follow and the American empire will collapse like a house of cards

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

secession isn't feasible, really....

look what happened when quebec tried to secede. it'd happen here much the same way. the supreme court would suspend the ruling indefinitely and neither side would negotiate an agreement, hence an impasse.

even if it were successful here, what the hell would it really accomplish? the rest of the nation would make life a living hell for the state that seceded, probably in the form of trade/importation, or outright embargos. they'd treat it like a hostage situation or stand off operation and clench the state down until it said uncle.

i can appreciate the sentiment of taking the ball and playing elsewhere, but it's not in the cards.

So you say

but there are a lot of us out here who want out of this mess, because we did not sanction it or agree to be bound by it. The national government has broken so many of the rules that We the People set for it that it's just all a bad joke now. Watch late night TV and comedy shows. They all heap the insults on the statists and the sheeple laugh and say, yeah, that's right! But what do they do? NOTHING! Well piss on that. The national government has failed, and needs to be replaced.

With NOTHING

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

You're Kidding Right?

We The People were 3000 to 1 against the banker bailout and they did it anyway.

Our public servants think they're government officials entitled to rule over us.

The only way to get this done is to try, convict and hang a big bunch of them for treason. The sooner the better.

A convention take the power from DC and gives it to the states.

"Lead, follow, or get out of the way."
-- Thomas Paine

OOoooKaaayy------Now explain to me how that can be GOOD?!

The Constitution can be amended now without a convention, but the bar is high--for good reason!
Speaking of the states having control--how can that be good? Have we forgotten so soon what happened in state convention to the Ron Paul supporters wanting to be delegates?
And---did you not see the video of the 'missing' votes at RNC?
Do you not realize that both parties are equally corrupt?
Do you not realize that the parties influence and control the state governments?
The congressman showed their complete disdain for the people over the Bailout vote---so how can the people, the state, have ANY influence with the Powers That Be? EXCEPT----we can continue to pressure our states NOT to call for a Constitutional Convention!
That bar is also very high for good reason!
Quite a few years back the con-con was being discussed and states were jumping on board--until the John Birch Society began the education as to why a ConCon is dangerous! Then some of the states withdrew their call for a Con Con.
A ConCon would be the END of our Constitution!
Perhaps someone should ask John McManus to explain this to Daily Paul people.

I trust the states more than DC and all amendments take 3/4 of t

I trust the states more than DC and all amendments take 3/4 of the states to ratify.

In case yo haven't noticed

In case yo haven't noticed the states have been bought off with Federal bribes and are complicit in federal tyranny and have managed to create some of their own tyranny also.

Your suggestion has absolutely no merit and is idiotic and highly dangerous. The sheeple elect and we send so called representatives from each state to DC already and they have screwed us every which way but loose and you somehow believe the sheeple will elect constitutional minded reps for a constitutional convention what with all the media spin etc?

What is it you wish to change in the constitution anyway?

Until there is a general resurgence of liberty and freedom among the people and constitutional understanding a convention at this time is out of the question and would be detrimental.

We will never change the DC establishment any other peaceful way.

1. Balance Budget

2. Abolish Central Bank

3. Term Limitations for Federally elected congressman or repeal of the 17th amendment.

"Lead, follow, or get out of the way."
-- Thomas Paine

All of these things do not need a con-con

A balanced budget would be most assured if we stuck to the provision requiring only Gold and Silver money.

Likewise, a central bank would be difficult or impossible. While I know Washington started a bank, it wasn't like what we have today. They were a bank for the government, not a 'central' bank which sat over every other bank in the country.

Besides, there is no requirement that a bank be part of the Federal Reserve system. We just need a bunch of banks to upstart and opt not to join.

Term limits would be unnecessary if we solved the above two problems on our own.

And we don't need a con-con to repeal the 17th. We could do that by regular process, or even better, by a state appointing its Senators and challenging its passage. (a state which did not ratify the amendment)

Actually, if you fixed the latter first, it would be infinitely easier to fix the others. It is no accident that we got a central bank, an income tax and elected senators all at once.

The real solution lies not in the U.S. House or Senate though. It lies at home in local and state government. We need people with backbone and constitutional knowledge to be in office, and put the Federal genie back in its bottle.

Can I just say 'WTF'...? I

Can I just say 'WTF'...?

I wouldn't have trusted politicians in Reagan's era with a constitutional convention--today, under jackboot fascism, it would be insanity incarnate.

SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States

SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States

I've seen it all now...

Unbelievable. Open the Constitution to debate, revision and in a political atmosphere like this, likely tossed out and re-written altogether?

Why don't we just go ahead and skip the foreplay and cut our wrists now if that is the case?

Let's see: a democratic house and administration (soon to be), anti-gun in every way, so they'd go ahead and toss out that pesky 2nd amendment and disarm us entirely; more power for them and jack shit for us. There is no guarantee at a time like this that anyone would have a say at all except the powers that be, and you know they're always on the lookout for something new and improved to fist-fuck us with.

NO WAY IN HELL. Luckily it does take 38 states to open the floor, but so far the states themselves have been voting against revising their own state constitutions, let alone even thinking about opening up the one that matters most. 86 this idea RIGHT NOW.

In this climate, are you

In this climate, are you insane? Last thing we want is a constitutional convention right now.

Opening up the Constitution

Opening up the Constitution could produce unintended consequences, Once opened is there any guarantee who will make the final decisions and who those deciders will be?.

Things are bad now, but they could get a whole lot worse if the Constitution were opened to who knows what kinds of changes.

The convention to propose an amendment (or amendments) carries no ratification powers. Article V authorizes the convention only to draft and propose amendment(s), which must then be ratified by either the state legislatures or unicameral ratifying conventions conducted within the individual states. The Framers built considerable complexity into the national legislature, whereas the convention was left unstructured, with its procedures permitted to be relatively simple and facile. The convention would consist of a single assembly of delegates (not two chambers as in Congress); and under Jefferson's lex majoris partis [4] a simple majority of members present and voting would suffice to submit a proposed amendment to the states.

You have to be joking!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! This is assinine. Unless it's going to be dailypaulers in attendance? Can you imagine the constitution we'd end up with??!! We have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights; that is the entire point! That is what we need, that is what we need to protect!

And there have been several Daily Paulers who scare the Hell

out of me as well. The amount of people who REALLY understand the constitution is very small. One needs to study it well, and read the writings of the people who wrote and debated it. Most people have a hard time reading it on its own.

Well...

I think it would be a giant leap in the right direction.

Modifying the constitution to reflect changes in public opinion would be infinitely better than what currently goes on.

A. It would force a public debate about real issues, and
B. It would allow us to clearly state our case: that the government does various things it has no right to do; and it would give the opposition the opportunity to 'legalize' the Federal Government's activities by modifying the constitution with a 2/3 majority (which I'm fairly sure they do not have). Should they fail, then we win.

At the very least we would drag our opponents into open debate. Instead of sitting idly by while 5-4 decisions in the supreme court fundamentally altered the social contract that is the highest law of the land, we could could rebut our opponents. We could expose the perversion of the 'General Welfare' clause and its bastard brother the 'interstate commerce' clause for what it really is: a mechanism exploited to legitimize governmental 'mission creep' and run roughshod over the legitimate concerns of a significant proportion of the population without giving them the a chance to have a frank and public debate.

In the end, even if we lost, then at least we would be losing by the rules: I could live with that.

The Constitution is not supposed to 'reflect' public opinion

Just where on earth did you get that idea?

Tell me something, in your estimation, what is the PURPOSE of our Constitution? And what does it "do?"

Can I add a word to your comment?

Just where on earth did you that "hairbrained" idea?

NO NO NO NO

and
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS SCARIER THAN ANYTHING POSTED!!!

I'll 2nd that.

I don't trust our legislators to legislate, let alone change the law of the land.

A Constitutional Convention will be the end of us all

This is the absolute most horrible event that could occur with respect to our Liberties. If such a convention happens, we will end up with a watered down European version of a sham of a government. There will be no fundamental protections of our inalienable rights, and we will be saddled with a Democracy rather than blessed with a Republic. If avoid a full blown civil war at that point, it will be a miracle. Bullets will fly upon the result of such a convention because it WILL NOT produce anything but worse than what we already have.

Are you crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are you thinking NO NO NO

You want to turn the NWO loose to write our new Constituion. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The constitution was written after 200 years of struggle in Great Britain to gain freedom. It was written by the most qualified people in the World before or since. And you want to turn a bunch of government educated noecons and liberals loose to write another one. Unbelievable.

so how do we get thiis

so how do we get thiis started?

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

I suggest we try the 38 least populated states.

Each of the 38 states' legislators have to vote for a Constitutional Convention.

"Lead, follow, or get out of the way."

what we need is a business constitution

We should write a business constitution. bound the corporations down with chains.

The fathers of this county did not anticipate corporations getting their tentacles in government.

Better yet, eliminate the Corporate form entirely

after all, it is a government INTRUSION into the marketplace.

Corporations cannot come into existence absent a government charter. They are permission by the government to operate with LIMITED LIABILITY. As such, they are not natural, and not the Free Market. They will ALWAYS lead to Corporatism, aka - Fascism - ALWAYS.

Personal Note

I would love to see a few extra things..like:
For us when a job ends..it ends...we might get unemployment for a while..after that..Nothing
Im sick to death of seeing these slimey creeps get out of office and STILL get a salary....Like Senators..OMG does it not burn you up that Bush #1 gets money till he dies and Bubba Bush will too?

I would also just LOVE to see someone come to NC..where I live..(for any Neo-Cons reading this) RUTHERFORD COUNTY..and take down the good ole boy system..which I have heard about all my life has a straight line...of money...going straight to the White House

One of the agencys I want to see get a massive kick in the ass
CHILD NAZI SERVICES..(CPS is what they called here)

Everyone in government be it the town mayor on up to the state and federal levels SHOULD BE LIMITED TO HOW LONG THEY CAN STAY IN OFFICE

Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change
