Because our American

Because our American ancestors were able to live and thrive, while unleashing an industrial revolution in the U.S., without an income tax.

Back then the Supreme Court ruled several times that an income tax was unconstitutional.

I've seen research concluding that the 16th amendment was never properly ratified. Who knows if this is a 100% certainty, but it might be.

In the 1860s the slaves were freed... and then 50 years later our government enslaved us all via the income tax in 1913. Go figure.

...

It operates by "color of law"

The IRS does have a legal function but, that has been perverted beyond recognition. Most people comply out of fear, ignorance and misinformation. Not because it operates lawfully or ethically.

It is simply the whip that manages the fiat slaves. Therefore it should be abolished; right along with the IMF/Federal Reserve fiat slavemasters that employ it.

Not only is the IRS immoral (theft, coercion)

but it feeds the federal government which uses the money for even more immoral purposes, such as wars which require huge government expenditures. Also big governments tend to protect their power by creating ever bigger police enforcement and reducing civil liberties of the people, so they cannot easily rebel against tyranny.

IRS exist for Fed and vise versa…

During the past 30 years or so, I've learn many other things also. But basically… Say you got rid of the Federal Reserve System tomorrow. The IRS automatically has no function (I know the government would do everything and anything to keep the shame going—those screwballs all grease each other's palms).

The IRS works in conjunction with the Fed to make certain that at any given time not quite enough cash will be in circulation to serve the public. This big fat hoax is extremely evil and diabolical, but that's how this crime wave works, folks.

One thing about my logic; it almost always sounds logical.
Secret key to happiness: Stay happy. Shhh!

It's how they do it not why..

If you do not pay your federal income tax the government will take your possessions and throw you in jail. It is a coercive system.

It pays for things you may not agree with. Corporate bailouts, secret prisons, war, etc.

Certainly the home of the free could come up a system of generating revenue that didn't involve throwing people in jail and stealing from them.

I think a better question is

I think a better question is "Why shouldn't the IRS be abolished?"

And for that question I can think of no good answer.

Taxation = Theft

whether local, state, federal; sales, income or capital gains; all are involuntary and collected via coercion. Taxation is theft...period

Can't be fixed

The stench and lawlessness is so deep in the IRS it can't be cleaned and made-over. It is a criminal organization systematically damaging our society. Abolish it and create something according to law to collect lawful taxes.

It shouldn't

Someone should still be around to collect corporate taxes and tariffs after we get rid of the personal income taxes.

Because they are criminals.

That's all there is to it.

- 16th Amendment never ratified.
- Supreme Court rulings that say 16th Amendment didn't change their power to tax.

So every penny they have ever collected was direct theft of the American people.

Because thieves belong behind bars

Not only should the IRS be abolished, but all who run and work for the IRS, or assist in their work, should be rightfully jailed for instigating, aiding and abetting crimes.

Because the IRS

will not abide by their own regulations in the course of their assessment authority. Apparently the IRS owns the federal judiciary because they will not interpret the laws as they exist in the Federal Register.

As Title 26 of the US Code has evolved through the major revisions (supposedly by congress)of the code from 1925 to 1939 and then again in 1954, 1978, 1986 they have removed critical portions of the code relating the exempt status of most of our incomes.

search google for "theft by deception"

Since the majority of our incomes are not taxable as stated in section 83, only that portion above the actual FAIR MARKET VALUE IS TO BE INCLUDED IN GROSS INCOME.

Since the IRS will not follow their own regulations they should be abolished.

The IRS refuses

to prove in a legitimate court of law they were lawfully constituted.

Does that sound like Obama's refusal to show proof of citizenship? If one reads Dan Meador's "Masters of Deceit" it becomes obvious there is very little about our so-called government that shouldn't be abolished.

Reagan's 1982-1984 Grace Commission Report

concluded that 100% of personal income taxes are ultimately used to service the debt from the Federal Reserve, not for any government services. Our payment for the "privilege" of being forced to use their monopoly money.

The IRS constitutes an

The IRS constitutes an attack on America and its citizens in that it is

1) compelled performance; i.e., slavery
2) violates right to privacy; i.e., 4th Amendment
3) compels self-incrimination; i.e., 5th Amendment
4) forced social engineering of our communities
5) favors what IRS wants and doesn't want in society
6) discourages production - what America desperately needs right now
7) the IRS is now nothing less than a terrorist organization by their own definition
8) drains needed cash from our communities
9) causes undue hardship across the land
10) breeds fear, contempt and anger
11) they disturb the public peace and prosperity
12) cause undue expenses and trouble to everyone
13) perform their office unlawfully and generally operate outside the law
14) have been the cause of numerous deaths and family and business destructions
15) they bully and harass otherwise peaceful citizens

I'm sure there are many more good reasons to rid ourselves of this miserable organization.

Not to mention the immorality of a tax on a man's labor &

the use of said money for the reprehensible attack on our freedoms. It's like adding insult to injury.

In 1946, the Chairman of the

In 1946, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York stated the reasons behind taxation under a fiat monetary system, none of those reasons include operational revenues:

“Final freedom from the domestic money market exists for every sovereign national state where there exists an institution which functions in the manner of a modern central bank, and whose currency is not convertible into gold or into some other commodity.
The United States is a national state which has a central banking system, the Federal Reserve System, and whose currency, for domestic purposes, is not convertible into any commodity. It follows that our federal government has final freedom from the money market in meeting its financial requirements. Accordingly, the inevitable social and economic consequences of any and all taxes have now become the prime consideration in the imposition of taxes. In general, it may be said that since all taxes have consequences of a social and economic character, the government should look to these consequences in formulating its tax policy. All federal taxes must meet the test of public policy and practical effect. The public purpose which is served should never be obscured in a tax program under the mask of raising revenues.

Federal taxes can be made to serve four principle purposes of social and economic character. These purposes are:
1. As an instrument of fiscal policy to help stabilize the purchasing power of the dollar;
2. To express public policy in the distribution of wealth and income, as in the case of the progressive income and estate taxes;
3. To express public policy in subsidizing or in penalizing various industries and economic groups;
4 To isolate and assess directly the cost of certain national benefits, such as highways and social security”

Yes

they are basically the collection agency for the international bankers who own te federal reserve.

Governmental entities need taxation

That's not the argument. The argument is how they collect taxes. The revenue code is unbelievable. Way past the interpretation of even the most educated. Just think Arthur Anderson. The system invites corruption and special interests. The little guy gets stepped on, while the big boys, (with big donations) get to frolic in the largess. Our government is far from prudent with the money. That's pretty much an understatement nobody will argue with. Like Ron Paul, like Ronald Reagan, taxation should remain close to the States and avoid the suck hole of Washington as much as possible.

alan laney

I know governments need taxes

By extension, I also know that if they don't get any they won't have our lives as collateral anymore because if people stopped paying, word would get out. And then, things would get VERY ineresting, don't you agree? Then we would find out what the 'will of the people' was really good for, wouldn't we?

But alas, the sheeps, they likes their taxes. Look at MA. 70 percent. Just a bit disheartening, wot? They like to think that there is a net at the bottom of it all that will always catch them, and that the way to get the net is to go vote for some douchebag whose brother runs a construction firm and they all get rich.

Taxes have funded all the greatest slaughters of human history. Why should we continue to pay them?

Not according to Beardsley

Not according to Beardsley Ruml, former Chairman of the New York FED, he stated clearly that under a fiat monetary system taxation was not necessary for operational revenues...I posted his comments from 1946 above.

I accept your statement on its face

but if the people ceased paying their taxes and the governemnt continued unabated, then people would definitely notice

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

Because the IRS is nothing more than

the collection agency for the Federal Reserve.

Amen, get rid of the strong arm collections, and watch the Fed

dry up and blow away. That is why they are so secretive and will tough to get rid of, because with out the IRS there to confiscate our wealth the fed couldn't stay afloat. They have to have that little bit coming back in to them to keep from completely imploding.

Thank you Dr. Paul for making me act on what I already knew was right.

*May the only ones to touch your junk, be the ones you want to touch your junk.*

You don't get anything in return for your taxes

In fact, the compulsion to pay a personal income tax is a form of slavery. This stems from the central bank mechanism. Almost all of the income tax that you pay goes to pay off the interest on the national debt. The amount left over probably just pays for government waste. A large portion of the national debt is based on "loans" from the privately-owned Federal Reserve System. The "Fed" has been granted the legal authority by Congress (unequivocally in violation of the Constitution) to counterfeit money (meaning printing it out of thin air) and then loaning the money that it never had in the first place at interest. What money we have not borrowed from the Fed ultimately was produced by another private bank using the same basic process of money creation. There is a lot of common ownership of these international banks. So in sum, the federal taxes that you pay every year go into the hands of the international bankers. This is nothing more than theft by an international criminal racket. Also, since money is created through debt (through the process of making "loans"), it is impossible to pay off the debt because, due to accrued interest, there is never enough money in existence. Therefore we remain perpetually in debt under our current monetary system. Without it, there would be no need for the IRS or personal income tax. The IRS is the collection arm that extracts resources from us at force and thereby enslaves us to the international banking cartel.

Also, if you are like most Americans, there is no law that requires you to pay an income tax. Lost Horizons is a good resource. I also suggest that you watch America; Freedom to Fascism.

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms - should be a convenience store, not a government agency!

Because they are taking people's money

that do not wish to give it to them. In my dictionary that is called THEFT. The IRS is an agency that enforces 'legalized' theft.

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,

Of course the IRS deals with

Of course the IRS deals with much more than the 'income' tax but I would like to see it abolished simply because the corruption within the agency is appalling- however... it does not need to be abolished IF the proper application of the income tax was followed by the agency according to the Rule of Law. The VAST majority of the income tax paying public does not really owe any tax at all- they just think they do and thus testify to a liability when they file their return. Again- for MOST people, if they actually read the law, they would realize their earnings/pay are not connected to a priviledged activity.
