Anybody have any Victory Vodka left? I drank my ration, have none left for the three minute hate.

It's Victory Gin, not vodka

I am reviving this post because I read today that North Korea is threatening a war with Japan, and have heard (from general populace) that Korea will have to fight against Japan sans China. I don't think I agree with this... if hostilities erupt between Korea and Japan, does China really stand pat? China has a slight grudge against Japan. "Am I taking crazy pills?" Furthermore, why take them off our "terror list" if they are threatening attacking Japan?

Are we abandoning a new cold war with Russia in favor of a new Korean war? Someone please shed any light on this at all.

woo hoo!
WTF?
Six months ago if you had told me we would strike North Fucking Korea off the "terror list" I would have laughed in your face. And probably got mad and slap you for being an idiot. Lo and behold, out of left field we do it. Is there any rational explanation for this? And is there a reason that none of McCain or Obama's supporters seem to know anything that transpires in the world?
It don't matter the
chocolate ration has gone up from 6 oz to 2 oz, and instead of weekly we now get it monthly.
Anyone that hasn't read 1984 read it.
Thank you Dr. Paul for making me act on what I already knew was right.

A couple months ago I re-read it for the first time in many year
and given my current state of enlightenment, I found it even more incredible than I did the first time, like 15 years ago or so.

RP2012!
Agreed.
I read it yesterday after work (not a terribly long book, especially for a Lit major) and due to the "change" we're embarking on, it really is much more chilling now.
As an aside; I'm reading "Brave New World" today. Nothing like dystopian fiction to raise your awareness of tyranny.
Just found my dusty copy of BNW yesterday, and thought about
giving it another whirl soon.

i wish it didn't have the sex in it
My wife is teaching 4th grade this year, it is a relatively simply written book so they could read it, just doesn't feel right having them read the sex parts though. Other than that I wish every kid would read it and the younger the better.

Same for 1984
I don't think younger students have the sort of moral reasoning abilities needed to get through the "adulteries" of Winston Smith, but aside from those parts, the message is loud and clear and I think my fourth-grade aged children could gain much from it.
