The Purple Cow v. McDonalds: Lets see how they stack up.
Submitted by Jim Brown on Mon, 11/10/2008 - 19:21
The Purple Cow is a small burger place I eat at 2 times a week. I eat at McDonalds once a week. When oil was at it's peak Purple Cow raised it's prices by 50 cents for a combo (burger fry coke) while McDonalds raised their prices by a $1. So, now oil has dropped The Purple Cow is back to their regular price while Mickey D's still a $1 more. It pays to buy local folks.
PS and the burgers are better at The Purple Cow

Honestly
The best burgers are home made! The ultimate burger: Take 1/3 pound 85% lean ground beef, hand patty it in a circular shape about half an inch high, and lightly salt and pepper on one side. Cook on a grill set between low and medium, flip when the edges are grey about 80-90% up. Lightly salt and pepper the now up side, add cheese if desired, remove from grill when the bottom edge turns grey.
Voila! Perfect medium-rare burgers that are better than almost any restaurant. The recipie was developed by my grandpa who was a co-owner of a burger joint. They served the perfect burgers, and the recipie for those burgers has been passed down from father to son to grandson.
Very important to remember: You can put whatever the hell you want on top of the meat, on the bottom of the meat, or even the side of the meat (if someone knows how to do this?), but you must NEVER EVER put anything INSIDE the meat! The meat must be meat, no onions or cheese or terriaky or whatever, the meat stands alone! You will ruin a true burger lovers day if you serve it in a way that isn't customizable.
The Schneider Burger FTW
I am going...
...to cook one of these burgers right now. F* McDonalds.
Buy Purple Cow
if the meat is local and not factory farmed. McDonald's buys their meat from factory farms. Watch "Fast Food Nation" and you will know what that means. Better yet, read the book and study up on factory farms. Buy local and/or organic.

back to topic i agree. yes buying local makes a big difference
its also tastier since most local restaurants buy local meat which is usually more reliable to be more natural and less likely GM.
Mcdonalds has to have consistent quality. you can only do that by feeding cows GM food

We were in Kingsport, TN for 3 months and ate Purple Cow way too much. You could get a great burger, fries and a drink for around 2 bucks. There shakes were fantastic. I am glad we moved, or we would all have looked like cows.

I'll bet Purple Cow
doesn't find it necessary to finance homosexual activism either. Amazing what can happen when a company minds its business. I wish we had Purple Cows in NY
I read that
there is only about 10c worth of actual substance in a bottle of coke and the rest of the cost is for advertisement and so on.

Probably healthier too.
If the Purple Cow doesn't use MSG in their food like MCD does, then guarantee it.
