Neo-cons are

trying to introduce a bill & open the California coast for off-shore oil drilling...just a few miles out actually, like TX. If that goes through, how long do you think before a major earthquake in CA will happen? The drilling would disrupt the plates & the faults. Federal geologists estimate over 10 billion gallons of oil off CA coast. If they're running earthquake drills, I'm guessing they're going to push it through...sneak it thorough I should say (like the un-Patriot Act).

Thank God the government is here to protect us from natural disasters...we can all go and live at FEMA....yay!

Media...watch out! They are liars and their job is to scare you.

When I see things like this and this and this it sure makes me want to keep one eye in the sky for color bands as I'm out job hunting, LOL.

Stay away from tall buildings, trees, bridges, etc. today my fellow Anglenos!

May is EQ Preparedness Month in CA

To drill and prepare for calamities is always a good idea; however, to have such an urgent need for drills right now in the name of earthquake preparedness is interesting, given that our usual earthquake preparedness-alertness month is May of each year. So, why suddenly promote EQ preparedness now in mid-November, and with a much larger drill than usual at that?

This is particularly interesting, if you remember the web bot predictions for earthquakes in December, 2008. From what I've heard, the web bot predictions apparently tend to be often rather accurate.

There are major fault lines

There are major fault lines in that area of the US. I don't know if schools still teach this, but for years when I was in school (back in the 80's & 90's) I remember being taught that sooner or later California would end up in the ocean (not all at once, obviously).

For California it is not a matter of IF there will be another HUGE earthquake, but WHEN. Sooner or later it will happen again and again and again. Could be months, years or decades apart - but major earthquakes will hit that area of the US.

The drill just looks like they are trying to educate people on how to survive and protect themselves whenever earthquakes hit.

Nothing to be afraid of or nervous about. Although that is easy for me to say since I'm on the other side of the country.

Check this out...

I'm in California by City Hall (Lake Elsinore) & my friend that works there told me yesterday that they're being told that the drill is pretty much a "continuity of Government" drill. They should be walking right by my office in 4 1/2 hours. These should scare us.

I know earthquakes scare people... not me... I've been through all the big ones here... but when they have MILLIONS at the same time doing a drill, it reminds me of NORAD'S drill on 9/11

"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"

My thoughts exactly "reminds me of the NORAD drill"
