Doing my part... my 9/11 speech given in class.

It was a reasonably good summary of the basic talking points of the 9/11 Truth Movement, and reasonably well presented.

A good argument entails a fair presentation of your opponents' views, presented as though you were advocating them yourself, followed by your responses. It is crucial that you never misrepresent your opponent. Imagine they were present to debate you; what would they say? Imagine they were in the audience; would they have reason object to your presentation of their side? Once this is done, then you are cleared to debunk them.

You basically jumped right in with the 9/11 Truth Movement talking points after a cursory summary of the official story. But even if you had presented the official story in a thorough and unbiased manner before presenting your case, you would then have a professional obligation to present their responses to your responses, and so on, until you've reached an uncontested conclusion. This is how a decisive argument is made.

I'm sure you were under time restraints, and you made the best of what you had.

So far I recieved a 84 on the speech. The low score is due to the fact that I turned the outline in 2 days late (I know, i'm a slacker) for an automatic 5% off the top, the speech was about 8 minutes too long, and the outline wasn't as tight as it should be. The part of the grade dealing with delivery and content was almost perfect marks. Good news is that I can redo the outline and re-submit it for a grade... Even better news is that the teacher took it on himself to rework the parts that were wrong with the speech personally because he suspects i'll be giving it again :)

I can honestly tell the difference in the students faces, they are effected... changed. One student asked me how I know all this stuff, and that turned into a very lengthy conversation where we went off on many different subjects to include Barry Soretoro's horrible policies and his birth status and the Constitution. That part started when she saw my "don't trust Obama" button and was shocked that I would feel this way about government and not be fully in the boat for B.O.

Another saw me the next class, wearing my R3volution T-shirt, and he began the conversation asking about his 'isolationist' policy... This guy is a marine/afgan war vet, and after I explained that our man recieved more donations from vets and service members than all other candidates combined, he was all ears. He countered most of what I said with talking points that I'm almost positive i've heard Sheepard (pun inteneded) Smith from faux news, but i've heard it all before and was more than prepared... Needless to say, I think he is yearning for more of the truth.

Overall, my final answer... it was a sucess. Mission Accomplished.
