We have a problem!

Dear, Daily Paul Patriots

My friend seems disillusioned with the idea that the United States is the most prosperous and free country in the world. However, I am trying to convince him otherwise, that this country recently is moving toward a minor form of fascism. He won't believe me without substantial facts, so could someone please provide evidence.

Ron Paul barred from national media

Ask him where was the media coverage of the most patriotic qualified caring Republican candidate we've seen in a very long time?

I.O.U.S.A. was very insightful

What the hell is a "minor form of fascism"?

Is that like being a little bit pregnant?

Think the united States is the best country?

It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he shall hate the one, and love the other, or else he shall lean to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and riches. - Luke 16

Does he watch Fox News? If

Does he watch Fox News? If so, he'll appreciate the following speech that was given by Judge Andrew Napolitano (Fox News' senior legal analyst; youngest life tenured superior court judge in NJ history; basically, he is ultra credible):

Actually...."most free in the world" is a good assesment,

for all its faults, what other country (besides America) are people willing to die getting into? How many countries are people willing to die to get out of? I still, to this day, believe that my greatest blessing in life, was to be born in the USA. I believe your friend, and therfore, am fighting and hoping to keep it "his" way.

I too am proud to be born here and I have deep reverence for

the principles of freedom that this country was founded upon!

No matter what we have to suffer in the days ahead, even if we lose our freedom for a while until everyone in this country and the world understands what it like to NOT have individual liberty, then and only then might people 'get' how extremely important our essential laws are here and no where else.

What other country are people willing to die to get in to?

People fly to Indonesia and then take rickety old boats to Australia. Some throw their children overboard so the Coast Guard will pick them up and take them to "freedom".

There have been many instances of people dying to get in to a country -- not just the US. To think the US is the ONLY destination people are willing to put their lives on the line for reeks of nationalism.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

Australia is like Canada and are pretty 'nice' to refugees,

but still do not have a philosophic foundation of individual sovereignty and a Constitution that was designed to limit what government cannot do to us. (Even though just about every law coming through the mill right now is unconstitutional and illegal, that does not mean our philosophically American foundation is corrupt, just the sicko people in Congress who insist on treating our Constitution as a 'living' document that can be interpreted and twisted to meet the demands of corrupt socialism. Not unlike what Cheney did to make the case to invade a sovereign country; Twisted CIA intelligence to make it fit the pretext.

Canadians and Australians might argue that

they have a connection to individual freedom that dates back to the Magna Carta (Magna Carta Libertatum or Great Charter of Freedoms) which indeed gives a foundation of individual liberty. Habeas Corpus after all was an English concept.

Also, what use is a Constitution or Bill of Rights if it is not followed nor honored? Useless and irrelevant as a system of "measure" for individual freedom. The US is neither the most financially free (Hong Kong) nor personally free (Estonia) and to pretend that it is, is delusional and does nothing to rectify the situation.

The US is NOT free.

The original post assumed that the US was the only country people would give their lives to enter. That also isn't true.

Point being, to tell "fairy tales" about our country feeds the nationalists and neo-cons. In order to restore our country's freedoms, we need to "get real".

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

Right again, Ginny! You are

Right again, Ginny! You are most insightful [or just agree with me a lot :-)]. The US is the best country in the history of humanity. Right now it is being dismantled from within by traitors and saboteurs and it is our duty and responsibility to stop them and to restore this great republic and lawful rule under the Constitution. There is not a day of my life that I don't thank God that I am an American, and not a day that don't worry about how to save this nation and restore our freedom for future generations.

Freedom to Fascism

If you haven't made your friend watch Aaron Russo's America: Freedom to Fascism, that would be the first place I would start. It is available for instant viewing on Netflix. Or you can find it on Google Video.
