Just curious, what are your education backgrounds DPers?

I attended Catholic elementary and middle school, denounced Catholicism at age 13 became an 'atheist' until my 'God' experience at age 19, public high and University for studio and Art history but didn't finish my degree. Went back to the 'U' twelve years later and mastered pottery and ceramic sculpture, but I also have a license to practice real estate marketing and sales (good to have these days when there are so many bargains).

Dual degree.
Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science
The only thing I learned in school worth anything was typing.
Teach yourself. You'll end up smarter and have more money in your bank account.

After years of formal
After years of formal education as a professional student that in retrospect seem to have produced many pointless outcomes, I'm learning that the only school that matters is the School Of Life. Does anyone have the Cliffs Notes? I'm only at about 3rd Grade =(
Happy Thanksgiving everyone..

Took classes in darn near everything...But
Took me 10 years to get my BS in General Studies of course i was interested in everything but nailed it down to Business and Sociology with some Women's Studies thrown in. Started my Masters in Administration and have one class left for that, in the meantime am enrolled in law school and pray pray pray that I graduate on time. But working and taking care of a family are some juggling act especially in a JD program. But I love it, learning about our rights and constitution is addictive and great!

B. Ministry and a Humanities
B. Ministry and a Humanities degree from a Christian college, worked in the church for a while and then became quite disillusioned and nearly left the church entirely. (BTW, if any of you guys are in the same boat and live anywhere near Winston-Salem, NC, check out Green Street United Methodist a few blocks SW of the Broad/Academy intersection That's the best church and best family I've been around, and I wish I had such a bunch of people where I live now. They helped me get past a lot of my bitterness.)
Attended university for a double-major PoliSci/History Ed. degree but had to quit in my Junior year when I realized the payments on my student loan if I were to finish would be too much to afford on a teacher's salary. In all I took 8 years of post-secondary and have little to show for it except a pile of debt and being good at Jeopardy. I wish I would have learned a trade first, and I strongly suggest that to anyone considering their next step in education.
After quitting university, I went to work to pay down loans, met an amazing Canadian girl, moved to Canada and got married. I'm soon going to be a dad, and then I'll receive the most important education of my life.

BS electrical engineering
BS mathematics with an education minor
Ph.D. student in electrical engineering
Most of my education is hands on
although I took 2 years of architecture/structural dynamics at George Brown University in Toronto, and two years of correspondence in psychology mostly sociology though. I started working in the field before I graduated but in all the years I've been building I've never been asked for credentials.
Except for Rhino in DP forums trying to discredit my 911 knowledge :)

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !
similar story here.
I'm also Catholic, but was fortunate enough not to attend Catholic school (it seems like everyone I know who got put in a Catholic school ended up renouncing their faith.... it's a sad thing, but something tells me the Church should consider that it's doing something terribly wrong....).
Instead I went to public school my whole life....
Now I'm at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago studying fine art/studio art.... mostly painting, though I may end up getting into animation possibly, or at least take a few classes on it- painting is by far my top interest though.
Well...
I'm majoring in Mass Comm/Broadcasting (currently a Jr.). Was a bit discouraged this past year in how the media treated Ron Paul and was somewhat embarrassed of those in the business. I hope I can make a difference in the field.
What a bunch of smart, practical, thinking people!
See, we are not alone. This country is swarming with people like us. It seems every where I go I have been meeting conservative people who shake their heads and roll their eyes about the Obama thing. We are just grateful for our connection amongst the hypnotized, who project their dreams upon their messiah.
It is all they can do since he has literally gotten away with saying 'nothing' except the empty 'change' we need and 'hope'. How brilliant a ploy is that. So each person can just project what they think he means without him ever explaining himself!
Self Taught
In all things I know excepting public education through high school, associates in music and BS in business administration.
The first step is learning how to learn and then realizing that your brain is also a muscle requiring regular exercise.

Now, don't
be that way.
Life is the biggest educational tool we have and when we make mistakes, we ask ourselves, "what did I learn from this" and move on. If we don't learn the lesson the first time, it keeps coming back to hit us over the head again and again.
I have many lumps to prove my theory.
Finishing my last year
Finishing my last year for a bachelor's in philosophy, politics, and economics. Have 2 associate degrees, general studies and political science. Learned the most through living life, especially this past year through the revolution.

H.S. Business & Business College
Each position was a continuation in education as I moved into a new profession, each more sophisticated than the last.
Secy. Elementary School just out of H.S. (full time)
Stenographer for two General Foreman – Steel Industry (full time)
Full Charge Bookkeeping, Private Business (part time)
Deputy Registrar, State of OH for issuing License Plates (appointed position for two mos. of the year)
Twp. Clerk/Treas. & Income Tax Administrator (elected position)
Village Treasurer (elected position)
Adm. Assistant, Auto Dealership (part time)
Full time after all kids were in school:

Forced early retirement and now private investor (real estate/Oil wells)
I stayed home and raised my children during all those part time positions - not necessary to work but wanted to produce outside the home too.
BS in Mechanical Engineering
from a small school in the midwest.
Now I'm working in columbus ohio at a large R&D firm. They don't want me mentioning them on the internet, but, you can find them on Columbus' wiki page.
My two boys have taught me more about life than my degree/job ever have (or will).
Jesuit taught...2X!
B.S. Medical Technology
B.S. Nursing
My best education through
the school of life, ongoing! Graduation date not set (plan on living at least another 40 years).
Trained as a social worker but didn't aspire to working as the 'soft touch' extension of the police force/law and government agencies. Have seen idealistic fresh social workers change almost over night from caring people to pen pushers with people just being a number in their paperwork.
Questioning decisions wasn't appreciated, exposing corruption even less.. so my best bet was to leave. Changing a system from within is said to be the way to go. I for one know that that is more than an uphill battle, something I wasn't willing to sacrifice my life for.
Now mostly involved in alternative health.
Well
I graduated from the public fool system. I was raised a jehovah's witless. FYI they discourage anyone from seeking any education beyond that. I became a carpenter by trade. Now at 27, there are no construction jobs out there.(thank you jw's) I am going back to school in the spring semester. I really want to take philosophy and political science. However, there is not much demand for that. I think I'm going to study nursing. That will always be of some value. Perhaps eventually I can become a professional student. That's what I really want to do, learn. Even though I have no degree, I've always continued my "studies."
Professional student
I just realized what I had written. That is exactly what I am. I know quite a bit about everything and not a whole lot about anything, with a few exceptions of course. Yes, there are certain things I feel exceptionally proficient at. However, for the sake of not stroking my own ego, I'll keep those to myself.
And please remember. Your mind is a tool. Use it, and your mind will stay sharp. If you don't, it becomes rusty.
Go for the nursing degree
If I had to do it over again, I would. It is a very good career and you will have a job when everyone else will be at the soup kitchen. You can also go anywhere in the country (or world) and have work. A 2-year nursing degree can provide quite a career.

HS Diploma and 3 years of college.
I was going to college for fashion design but moved to the city where my daughters and xwife live so I could be closer to them and there isn't a fashion design school here. But due to private loans being frozen and me not wanting to get a government backed loan I am taking a break.

All kinds of things
I grew up wanting to be an English teacher because I love English literature. Went to college in the late 70s and they told me there were no jobs but business was a great field to get into. I could make lots of money in that. So, I got a B.S. in Business Administration and later an M.B.A. I really hated it but loved the money. Then I got sick from all the stress of working in business, etc., so I got into holistic medicine. So, I got a M.S. in Human Nutrition and Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition. I read a lot outside of that. I believe all Ron Pauler's have an insatiable desire to keep learning and that is how we got where we are; whether it is through a school or on our own.
Now I am trying to learn Spanish. I took it years ago but now I need to know it to live in Ecuador. Ustedes Hablan Ingles?
