Barry Goldwater Jr. Arizona Governor 2010
Submitted by Ben_Nichs on Sat, 11/15/2008 - 03:53
Barry Goldwater Jr. came to my work tonight for dinner. I started speaking with him about politics and of course had to ask if he is thinking about running for office. He replied with, "You WILL see me be governor of Arizona in 2010".
I feel this is great news not only for Arizona residents, but for the whole revolution.
What is everyone's thoughts?
We should all email him or send a letter telling him what we think about his race for governor.

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
Awesome News! The R3VOLUTION is a Fire!
Woot!
Is he even very pro-liberty?
His campaigning for O'Cain seems to indicate a big no.
It seems like the message of liberty might not have got transferred properly from father to son...
are you kidding?
son of barry goldwater, and endorsed ron paul during the primaries? did you see this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7r27Az_Mns
yes.
Ya I knew that he endorsed
Ron in the primaries. However, should we support anyone that endorses Ron (especially when that person goes to campaign for McCain...what does that say about a person's character?)?
Also, remember that Bob Barr endorsed Ron Paul (tried to draft him as the LP candidate)...but I wouldn't support him. Would you?
Goldwater would be far
Goldwater would be far better than Janet Napolitano. At least Goldwater is serious about wanting to stop illegal immigration and agrees with Ron Paul that we should have secure borders, enforce laws against illegal immigration and oppose amnesty for illegal aliens, which is more than I can say for Napolitano. If I lived there, I'd vote for him over Napolitano any day.
yes!!!!!!!!
.
.
.
If this is
true he'll be getting my vote. As for our current gov. she would love a police state here in AZ. ,just look at all the new cameras going up all over in town and on the freeways. Just a note everyone we are about to get a dose of communism 2008 after the first of the year, not just in AZ but every where.

I just read a history of Barry G. Sr...
What a remarkable Libertarian. Worth a read.

If his son is anything like his father, I can support him. I have only recently been learning about the anti-communism movement and I now have no blinders on.
I have a lot of energy for this fight!
And an overall nice person.
And an overall nice person.
He ran in 2006 and lost
He ran in 2006 and lost badly. Is there any reason to think that he would be a better candidate next time?
You are referring to Don Goldwater,
nephew of the late sen. Barry Goldwater, who ran for governor, and NOT his son, Barry Goldwater Jr. I think Don Goldwater endorsed Romney and there was some judicial issue. Janet Napolitano may be appointed by Obama, who knows. In any case state senator Karen Johnson, who endorsed Ron Paul (and also Pat Buchanan earlier) will probably be running as governor under the GOP banner, thus as female she could counter-balance Napolitano, or her successor.
Oops!
Thanks for the correction. I did get them confused.
for president? i dont think
for president? i dont think so ...
he could try ... no one knew ron paul right? or at least a very small number did ... all he has to do is stir the poo ... he has the name recognition and the right ideas
Sorry, I thought it was
Sorry, I thought it was clear from the original post that we were talking about him running for Governor of Arizona and not President. Goldwater ran for Governor in 2006 and lost badly.
We keep on supporting candidates that have the right ideas but they don't seem to be able to connect to the voters. My memory of Goldwater as a candidate is that he wasn't very effective. His biggest positive was his name . How does the other side do it? Is there some school they send their candidates to? its just a thought but maybe, we need to hire our guys media consultants.
Barry Goldwater was congressman
in California, thus won his races. Don Goldwater is not so interesting as Barry Goldwater Jr. Once again, you should differentiate. CC Goldwater, a granddaughter of sen. Goldwater, endorsed Obama again.
"Goldwater, nephew of the late Senator Barry Goldwater, is viewed favorably by 46%, unfavorably by 33%. Despite his famous name Goldwater is still an unknown to 21% of likely voters".

Marvelous. We need to
Marvelous.
We need to emphasize governor races, if we are really serious.
By the way--all this talk of Ventura and Johnson--why don't each of them run for governor again?

BTW
State sen. Karen Johnson, who endorsed Dr. Paul (and Pat Buchanan years ago), will run for governor of Arizona in 2010. Kay Hutchison will ran for governor of Texas, or has the intention. In case Dr. Paul decide not to run for president (or also if he decide to run?), he could run as her replacement for senate in Texas. (Dr. Paul has no interest to run for governor, as he cannot deal for national economic and foreign policy in this way). As you know he run for senate in Texas in 1984. Phill Gramm won the race (and Karl Rove and Bush already helping Gramm then). Think of it, if Dr. Paul had won then, he would be more well known and perhaps in a stronger position to run for president.
That would be great
Getting the GOP nomination for Senate is almost certain election here in texas. There would be alot of people going for her seat if she wins the Governor
Now
it would not make much sense for Gary Johnson to run for gov in 2010, having to spend millions, then only to be active for two years as governor, having to run for president as well. How can he be governor and at the same time run for president for 1,5 years plus? There is no senate race in 2010. The GOP lost two
congressional seats in NM this year. I think Gary Johnson should run for congress in 2010, so that he has some experience and name recognition in DC before that he should write a book, about his personal life and also 8 years experience as governor, to introduce himself and also raise some money and awareness.
I agree.
I agree.
Great news!
John McCain will probably not run again and he can take his father's position. The Ron Paul revolution gave him new interest in politics! I thought Jeff Flake might run, but Goldwater would of course even be much better: optimal. He is 3 years younger than Dr. Paul, I think. And think of it, in 2012 if Dr. Paul goes for president again, Goldwater can support and campaign for him as senator. Moreover, Goldwater can already from 2010 help with our agenda in the GOP!
It must have been his long time dream to succeed his father's seat. Wish McCain had retired earlier! (Jeff Flake can always take over Jon Kyl's position).
I say give him ALL the support he needs.
he looks 10 years older than Ron Paul lol

yes. Did you listen to his "dry sense of humor" and joke during his introduction of Dr. Paul at the R4R? Funny Do not worry, there is a senator Frank Lautenberg, aged 84 that has just been re-elected (would have been the opponent of Murray Sabrin, had he won the primary. Sabrin should run for congress in 2010) and who will be 90 when he completes his term. Ted Stevens and Don Young, both from AK are also in their eighties, also sen Byrd (WV ex KKK who had such a funny creepyy "child-like "shoutout to sen Kennedy when he was taken up in hospital. Kennedy is also quite old. Goldwater vs. Kennedy again n senate, sounds good.
"This chamber is hauntingly silent."
Senator Byrd is ex KKK? I just saw this video. That he is ex KKK makes me sad. I still like the video though.
