I'm down with Gary Johnson, he seems like a good guy. My first pick would be RP, obviously, but Gary Johnson seems to have his heart in the right place.

Addressing your many concerns fellow patriots:

1. It’s way too early to be looking at 2012. There is no time to waste regardless of which front you’re fighting on. The controlling opposition takes no time off and has well oiled think tanks working 24/7/365.

2. There exists a huge chunk of voters who will only vote R or D. I have no problem with this because it’s a valid point and is a plus for those liberty candidates seeking office at the local, state, and congressional levels. This thread, however, is focused on the presidential and vice-presidential ticket on a 3rd party platform. Here the R or D needs to read R & D.

3. You want to leave Ron Paul and others, whose strategy it is to remain in the GOP? Absolutely not. See 2 above

4. Keep a third party option open in case the GOP does not reform in the right direction. We’ve been there and done that. Do you really want to go 3rd party after the next RNC. Too little, too late. Are we determined to repeat our mistakes?

5. The 2010 election is now much more important than 2012. The best committed candidates we will be voting for in January 2009, are going to promote RP solutions to our foreign and domestic affairs, but also offer resolution to electronic voting and ballot access issues which are critical for the 2010 elections. It’s going to be an all inclusive, unifying message covering all fronts, which takes much preparation, therefore, we must begin now.

First things First - It's way to early to be speculating about possible presidential nominees - re-read Ron Paul's the Revolution a Manifesto - he does give marching orders - he says so on page seven. And are you serious about who you want the nominee to be - or just wishing? - get involved in a party if your serious - from the sidelines your just a spectator.

Sorry, but the reality of a third party presidential candidate running for office 4 or 3 years away from an election is only going to be ignored by the press, and only mocked and ridiculed if they do pay any attention. That being said, I see nothing wrong with third parties - I just think your tilting at windmills, and you should know that you are - I tend to vote third party at the top of the ticket, but like Ron Paul - I put my attention and focus on electing good Republicans to office, to the presindency if possible, and failing that - to congress.

There exists a huge chunk of the voters who will only vote R or D, and no matter how much you try to make them see the logic of voting for someone outside of their preferred party - they wont budge, for example -their grandfather voted Democrat, their mom voted Democrat, and by golly - they vote Democrat - even though the party today bears no resemblence to the party their grandfather voted for.

That party identity exists for almost 2/3rds of the voting public - and that is why its so much easier to put liberty candidates in office as R's and D's
- the sheeple will vote for them if they think they are like them - and that only means that you have to put an R or a D after their name.
