Chuck Baldwin breaks Constitution Party record for votes and tops Barr in 5 States
Submitted by MickeyMouse on Mon, 11/17/2008 - 22:31
Eventhough Baldwin was on the ballot in ONLY 37 States he still broke the record
write-ins still being counted in many states but according to this article Chuck Baldwin just broke the Constitution Party's vote total record which was set by Howard Philips in 1996. No-name Chuck Baldwin also topped the well known Congressman from Georgia Bob Barr(who also got a lot of media) surprisingly in States where Ron Paul has strong support like Utah, Idaho, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Oregon. Baldwin also got more votes than the Congresswoman from Georgia & the green party's nominee Cynthia McKinney

Baldwin should consider running for Congress. He needs a political resume built up before his next presidential run.

heres Dr. Baldwin's email
please email him and encourage him to run
chuck@chuckbaldwinlive.com
I will write an OP on just that. I think if Baldwin run's for his district he should easily win
the problem is what party? Constitution? possible? Chuck made it clear he has no intention to return to the Republican party, which dissapointed me because someone like him could have much more influence if he stayed in that crappy party, but i cant judge him.

All three parties are problematic.
In the Republican Party, the odds of winning the nomination are extremely low, and that's if you are an optimist--and you don't believe that Diebold chooses the winner in key primaries.
In the Libertarian or Constitution Parties, there's not enough public exposure, because after ballot access is secured, there's not enough money left to mount an ad campaign. If there's no ad campaign, the general public doesn't know who anything about the Third Party candidates.
I don't think these problems are easily solved. But that doesn't justify giving up. Money from big political donors would help in each case. I don't think w've tried that approach yet.

If Baldwin had the money of
If Baldwin had the money of Ross Perot(a billion or more to spend), he might have a shot at winning.
Anyway to see RP write in votes in
California?
Still wasn't good enough.
We need a candidate that can win states. Not beat out last years losers.
I'm glad he did better. But we still are in the same situation we were in before the election. We need a candidate to get on all state ballots. Woo the American People. And start being a viable choice when they go to the ballot box. So they don't have to say I'm voting for the lesser of two evils.
If Ron Paul does not run. We need to come up with a strong candidate that can do this.
Now is the time to JUMP-START the campaigns for 2010 and 2012.
We didn't lose. The ignorant lost. We know what has happened. Personally I think John McCain Has been used as a patsy. To bring about an Obama administration.

three votes from my house
I voted for Chuck and for James Niemackl for MN Senate.
Thanks for the post. I wondered how he did.
why did you vote for
why did you vote for Niemackl when there was an actual viable and good independent candidate for MN Senate who got 17% and could have gotten more if people had bothered to get out and vote/work?
Good Job Chuck....
Thanks for the post.

Just want to wish... Barr the CIA plant back stabber and all his trolls a congratulatory kiss my ass. Annoying punks.
Now all you cool libertarian people who were confused.. God love ya.

I admit I voted for Barr....
I admit I voted for Barr.... but I don't/didn't "support" him.... I ended up picking him because here in Illinois the rumor was that Baldwin's ballot access was not through the Constitution party and was independent and therefore would not help with future ballot access for the CP.
That's what I based my vote for president on.... helping 3rd parties try and get a big enough percent to qualify for future ballot access....
If there really were people being paid to troll here for Barr then that's terrible (and it wouldn't surprise me.... though it's kind of pathetic). Still, he did bring in about 500,000 votes that were not for Obama or McCain, and he did help increase the LP's votes from 2004 by about 23%... I still wish I could have voted for Mary Ruwart as the LP nominee, or even better, Ron Paul as the Republican....
I wonder...
if they got around to counting mine yet.
I miss Chuck on digg, he would get in there everyday, comment and digg the one's he liked. I'd probably vote for him again if Ron wasn't running

Congratulations
Chuck-!
And how many Constitution
And how many Constitution Party representatives are there in comparison to Libertarians?

Problem with the Libertarian Party is they failed to do
a background check on good ol Bob.
Seems Obama is not the only questionable candidate. Bob's voting record was really impressive as far as a 'neo con' is concerned but a Libertarian????........... Quite the CIA credentials there Bob, for your seven years of CIA (service?) from 1971 to 1978!!
And you LP supporters still do not believe he was a plant after years and years of covert infiltration by this nefarious organization that should sooner be disbanded than being given any kind of legitimacy especially through 'phony' candidates!
Yes,
we know..you don't like Chuck. move on.
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
representatives of what?
if you mean congressmen, the LP dosent have Congressmen
If you mean State House Reps, the CP has some in some states just like the LP
the point isnt a comparison of the CP and the LP. Baldwin broke the CP's own record and got more than the known Congressman Barr in 5 states eventhough he was only on 37 state ballots. interesting

Good to hear
I don't see any hope in changing the republican party anytime soon. There's too many in it that are corrupt and the platform needs adjusted. With that,I'm glad to support the constitution party.

At our county executive GOP meeting - myself and a few others had prepared a speech, and didnt need to give all of it - because the chairman said most of it for us - him and the rest of the party regulars knew the party had gone down the wrong path and needed to refind its way to its conservative roots - and were there to help them find it -The Time Couldnt Be Better For Everyone To Get Involved In Your Local GOP County Executive Committee - and Ron Pauls Republican Liberty Caucus - McCains Loss Is The Best Thing That Could Have Happened For Us!

I'll support Ron Paul
I'll support Ron Paul running Republican. And there's nothing wrong with the idea of Ron Paul Republicans taking legislative positions, either. But the movement will split, because I don't see supporting the GOP in any form, other than supporting Ron Paul, as a productive use of my time. And I'm sure others feel the same way.
