Media IS paying attention

I was just interviewed for a news story on PBS called "NOW" about Ron Paul. It seems the reporter was focusing on the "White supremicist" and other fringe supporters angle, or at least she asked questions about it.

It was a pretty good interview and she let me speak about my support and asked good questions. I simply stated that you can find fringe supporters for any candidate and that it simply detracts from the message. That Ron is the champion of individual rights and mentioed his speech about "rights don't come from belonging to a group, but simply from being an individual". Other topics were how Ron is using the internet differently than Dean, I simply stated that is seemed Dean's support was around MoveOn.org, and Ron's is more prevasive, more grass-roots. Other topics involved the "types" of people in the meetup groups. I simply stated that there were the fringe types (9/11 truthers, bush haters, etc), but that most people really just liked his messages and that it was more than simply anti-war / anti-bush, that it is pro freedom, pro limited government.

Anyhow, hopefully it is a good piece. They are starting to pay attention!

Media Attack on Ron Paul

This is what we can expect. Ron Paul can no longer be ignored by the media, so they will slander him. The mainstream media are in the pocket of the same special interests that own most of our politicians. It is their job to lie.

The credibility of the media have been compromised by their claims that Dr. Paul's support consisted of a few spammers that were somehow able to manipulate the straw polls and the media's own polls. Many Americans believe that the media are biased in their presentation of the news. I say it's not bias, rather, the media are the Ministry of Propaganda. They are not part of our government. They work for the same special interests as most of our politicians. It's the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) connection. That's the link between the media, the large corporations, the large banks, the Federal Reserve, major Ivy League schools the leadership of the Democrat and Republican parties, as well as many of our most prominent politicians.

Ron Paul has a track record. Our job is to make that track record available to as many Americans as will listen. The truth will outshine the lies.

NPR and Wall Street Journal

It sounds like you represented us well, thank you. Please link us to the resulting product if/when it comes. Did I miss what was eventually published as a result of the WSJ interview of a DP member last week?

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.

i just got an email from pbs

I am the Reading, Pennsylvania Meetup organizer and I just got an email from someone claiming to be from the PBS show NOW and he wants to interview me for the show. Anyone else get one of these? Steined, how did you get contacted?

I love ron paul!

I was contacted via phone. I

I was contacted via phone. I had it listed in a meetup event. The one thing I mentioned was that our group wasn't that active compared to others.

Some other things about the interview:

"Why do you think people on the internet are so enthusiastic about Ron Paul?":
Response:
"Well it certainly isn't because he's a good looking young man or the first female Presidential candidate. Look at him he's a 72 year old stereotypical white man running for president. He isn't a Ronald Regan type speaker. People are so enthusiastic about him becuase of his message. Who else can explain the fed to people so simply and get an applause about it? Who else talks about the real problem of a 70trillion dollar obligation with SS and Medicare?" He talks about real issues and people like his solutions. "

re: internet

i wish more people would say:

"well, the real question should be......why are so many people ON the internet?"

Because it's free market, free (for now, mostly) of regulation, free of tax, free of monoply.

And the Free People in this Country are USING IT.

Who are you ? Why are they

Who are you ?
Why are they interviewing you?
Do you work with the offical campaign?
Either way ,I thank you for your support.

Good question!!

I just decided to host a sign making party at the house and had my phone number in there. She found it on Meetup.com and said she wanted to talk to a real supporter about him. She was very nice about calling for unintended purpose, etc. So again, hopefully it is a positive piece.
