"Nazi" smear attacks against Dr. Paul are backfiring

0 votes

Yesterday, a couple of different sources claimed that Dr. Paul was 1) receiving support from Nazi groups and 2) anti-Jewish:

Today, Andrew Sullivan of The Atlantic (a GREAT friend to the RP Campaign) offered these 2 well articulated rebuttals:

You really need to drop this.

The campaign already made a statement about it and will NOT be 'screening' donors and their websites. They should not have to if the others are not...the more you talk about it the more you give the whiners credibility.

* Defuse Nazi/Truther/Whatever Attacks *

Never defend against the content of a guilt-by-association attack. If you respond at all, merely illustrate why such an attack is a logical fallacy.

Example:

Joe Blow admires Adolph Hitler; Ron Paul accepted a donation from Joe Blow. Therefore, Ron Paul admires Adolph Hitler.

Is this logical? This is precisely what Paul's attackers are trying to convince people to believe.

Expose the logical fallacy within earshot of as many people as possible, then simply walk away.

All publicity is good publicity

I love it that these sorts of attacks are being made. They are so transparent, it makes me wonder if the Paul campaign is starting them just to get more mileage in the media!

Just kidding. Still, though, you have to imagine their effect on the average voter. Most people by now are clued in to the fact that the political world is chock-full of bullshit. I'm guessing most voters will think something like, "Hey, if this guy is drawing such extreme opposition, he must really be upsetting someone. I'd better check him out!"

I'm checking this out. Maybe the Paul campaign and jews4paul could link to each other. Thanks for posting this,

Jews 4 Ron Paul

Here's the best and incontrovertible proof that Ron Paul has credible support in the Jewish community, recognition they would only afford someone after careful consideration (you can't make this up):

Ron Paul abhors everything to do with socialism, fascism and the

After reading numerous books by Ron Paul and reading hundreds of speeches and articles at www.RonPaulLibrary.org, I am certain about this one thing; Ron Paul abhors everything to do with socialism, fascism and the inherent evil embodied in Nazism or any tyrannical government.

Many Jewish people understand the threat that the Nazi regime posed to a freedom loving people and witnessed the devastating effects of Hitler’s socialism. Few today understand that Nazi is the abbreviation of National Socialism. Today we as American’s are once again confronted with two ideologies: Liberty and National Socialism. Socialism is represented here in America by nationalized health care, a centrally controlled economy, high taxation and a redistribution of wealth mentality. Fascist Socialism is represented by intense government intrusion into our businesses, personal lives and the growing national police state.

Some of the first things that Hitler did when gaining power was to convince people of the terrorist threat coming from the communist. In fact, the Nazi’s burned down the German capital, blamed it on the Communist and used this event to rally the Germans to suspend the constitution and give Hitler unbridled power. The Socialist controlled parliament then passed laws to allow Hitler the ability to suspend the constitution and allowed German troops to be used against the German Jews. Here in America we have recently passed a very similar law called the Defense Authorization Act of 2007. Ron Paul fought against this Act.

Additionally, the Germans passed laws to allow the Nazi's to read the Jews mail and to search their homes and businesses. This law is very similar to the USA Patriot Act. Ron Paul fought the passage of this Act.

The Germans then passed laws allowing Hitler to declare Jews, and other citizens to be declared enemy combatants. They were then rounded up, denied the Right of Habeas Corpus, tortured and sentenced to death. This was without witnesses, based upon secret testimony and without counsel. This is now allowed to occur with US Citizens under our Military Commissions Act. Ron Paul fought the passage of this Act.

The Germans required all Jews to have an identification. This is now required in America starting in May 2008, with the National ID Card required under the Real ID Act. Ron Paul fought the passage of the Real ID Act.

Hitler then created a secret loyal military police force called SS. Recently we have witnessed the creation of the new force, not accountable to congress called Blackwater. Prior to Hitler the German Republic was called the “Republic” then in an effort to promote German nationalism he changed all references to the nation to “The Fatherland.” Now in an effort to promote American nationalism we have “The Homeland.” Please read Naomi Wolf’s new book tilted Letter to a Young American Patriot.

Jewish people, please do not be mislead. We must fight for liberty and freedom and against the fascist and socialistic elements working their way into our great nation. Ron Paul campaign is based upon a philosophy of liberty and freedom. Ron Paul, liberty and freedom abhor socialism, fascism and all that the Nazi party represented. Keep in mind, the German’s were at parties, the opera, sporting events, enjoying prosperity and the great society while all of these laws were being changed. Those who were identifying what was happening in Germany, warning the Jews and the German people were labeled as kooks by the National Socialist. Don’t believe everything you hear. Read and investigate for yourself. Stand up for liberty. Vote Ron Paul.

Great post

Excellent parallels with the National Socialists now running the country.

Another thought: How could the Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership (JPFO) be for anyone other than Ron Paul?

Why Are They So Afraid of Ron Paul?

Another great response.

The wave of support and publicity for Paul has the neocons enraged, and they are busy trying to discredit him with a campaign of unsurpassed villainy. What they have done is actually kind of funny, if you take your humor black: they've simply transferred their usual blather on the foreign policy front to the domestic battlefield.

"In short, you see, the essential is to cease being free and to obey, in repentance, a greater rogue than oneself. When we are all guilty, that will be democracy. Without countering, cher ami, that we must take revenge for having to die alone. Death is so

SCARY... parallels with us...

Your comments that parallel the USA recently with the Patriot Act, identification chip, etc... is on a smaller degree than Nazi Germany scarily paralleling (if you get my drift) Mitt Romney and his little loss of liberty for security comment DEFINATELY lost it for me there! (never was a supporter of his anyways though....)

Actually, I don't see Israel

Actually, I don't see Israel as the evil entity that some do. In fact, if Israel is the bad guy, then who exactly is the good guy? The downtrodden Palestinians, who have walked away from peace negotiations that would have given them a life, multiple times? In fact, the Palestinians are just as often victims of their own extremists and kleptocratic rulers, and their two-faced Arab neighbors, as you can say they've been "victims" of Israel.

They lost. Countries lose wars all the time. The UN decided to give Israel to the Jews in the hope that the Arabs would take it back immediately. Then, the UN could say they did the righteous thing but it just didn't work out. Little did they know that the Jews would fight and win. And that they'd win every war until this last one in Lebanon. And the UN didn't understand that Israel would thrive on the worst piece of land in the region. A lot of people underestimated the determination of the Israelis.

And Israel alone among all Middle Eastern nations wants to make peace with the Palestinians. It is in everyone's self interest, except for some Arab countries who like to use the Palestinians (who they hate) to hammer the Israelis with. It serves as a useful distraction from how they treat their own people.

I am a Jew who supports Ron Paul's non-interventionism. Would it benefit Israel? Absolutely. Would it benefit the Palestinians? I think so. But when Hamas and Fatah are at war, like today when six were murdered in Gaza, I think the Palestinians have bigger structural problems than Israel, right in their own neighborhoods.

Yeah, well...

The problem is, no one has any place "giving" anyone any chunk of land. It is too late now, but this was never justified. Now, of course, people live there, and were born there, etc, and there's no easy answers. Which is just one reason why we should have absolutely nothing to do with it.

You're Incorrect

The U.N. did not give the Jews Israel. They fought for it and took it.

I do agree though, that Palestinians hurt themselves just as much or more than Israeli forces do.

I'm with you 100%

I agree with everything you said.

The Arab community couldn't care less of the Palestinian people, yet they use them to distract their own people. Politically, it's the best distraction for them so they can make billions in oil money, live in lavish palaces, buy a fleet of exotic cars, yachts, and airplances all while their own people starve and blame every Israeli for all their life's problems.

Much like the "frontrunners" not mentioning Paul's name for fear of stirring up curriosity, I only see these negative rants as having a net positive effect as long as we remember to spread the message of the messenger, and refuse to caught up in debating these baseless arguments.

Trojan Herring

What needs to happen is for any and all American ethnic groups to demonstrate allegiance to America a far first, and their motherland a very distant second.

Don't try to elicit tacit complicity into the notion that neutrality or even indifference toward any one other country is some shocking declaration of the Emperor's state of undress that must be disavowed.

That's a trojan horse...a strawman...a red herring.

That's the camouflaged calling card of Neo-Conservatism, which is anathema to American Sovereignty and Independence...which is what Dr. Paul is all about.

That said, America would not be as vital as it is without the contributions of some of its Jewish children. You'd have to be in denial not to recognize that. But being a Jewish American is not synonymous with being an Israeli-Firster, and that notion should not be smuggled into a discussion in the guise of calling for a "distancing."

LOL! THAT'S THE TAIL WAGGING THE DOG!

What needs to happen is for

What needs to happen is for any and all American ethnic groups to demonstrate allegiance to America a far first, and their motherland a very distant second.

I agree -- sort of.

I can't help but reiterate what I see as the natural order of sovereignty: individual > family > community > state > nation > world. I'm not sure where ethnicity would fall in that spectrum, if anywhere.

One may feel a greater affinity for one's ethnicity than one's nation, since ethnicity hits closer to home. But most of the world is not divided up by ethnicity, so we really can't equate ethnicity to an organized structure.

Of course, people are at liberty to associate with their own race if they wish; your manner of choosing your friends can be as arbitrary as you want it to be.

I'm rambling. At any rate, libertarianism is the most non-racist ideology there is, because it values and respects the individual above the collective -- it is only bigoted against a bullying majority.

Google "not a hyphenated American" for some interesting reading.

"We should have a strong president -- strong enough to resist the temptation of taking power that a president shouldn’t have." --Ron Paul

american first

My ethnicity is American. I have no Native American ancestors but I don't consider myself anything else. When in another country I'm considered an American and I miss my home. If I wanted to be something else I wouldn't be here. In America you have the freedom to be a "something else" first, but why? Just go to that someplace else and be that something else. If you can't be that something else over there than admit to yourself that you have to be an American FIRST in order to be anything else, too.

Ethnicity may be a branch on the tree of Sovereignty...

...but, if one's ethnicity drives their politics, then they invite all to have their ethnicity drive their politics.

It can't be both ways.

Some put god FIRST in that order

Im just sayin.

And they capitalize God.... :O)

If you read and study the Bible then you understand that God knows and appoints leaders to nations, or at least that is my take. The thing is that God isn't appointing leaders to make us all warm and fuzzy inside and to make us feel that we can rely on ourselves to get through tough times. God sometimes has to break the will of people through tyranny, and then raise them back up knowing that they can rely on their faith in God and only God to change things. Faith that people (re)discover through tyrannical leaders and government will eventually lead people to the revolutions that happen throughout history. Remember there is a much larger picture to the world than just us, and in this moment in time. I feel like we've had our tyrranical leaders and now people are starting to realize that our goals, personal drive, and priorities in general have been way off base. I thank God for sending us Ron Paul and his voice of reason, faith, and personal responsibility. I pray that it is Ron Paul's time to lead us out of the pit we have dug ourselves at this point in history.

That's my take, and I'm sticking to it.

Remember that no matter what happens in the big picture, it's what is desired in your heart that matters to the Big Man Upstairs. :O)

Doublespeak

When the hypocrites call the only anti-fascist running for POTUS a "nazi sympathizer" you know you are living in bizarro world. Peace.

-A liberal for Ron Paul.

-A former liberal for Ron Paul.

Agreed

Especially when the last eight years have been under the rule of Georgie Pordgie who is the Grandson of Prescott Bush who was a TRUE NAZI Symphathizer. But then how was Prescott dealt with? Why he became a Senator didn't he? Of course this was after the Bush family had assetts seized. That my friends is Bizarro World discipline if you ask me.

I'm Jewish and voting for Dr. Paul

Those people who say that Ron Paul is antisemitic and anti-Israel are completely wrong.

It so happens that I'm currently visiting my family in Israel and I can tell you that many Israelis would love it for America to back off and mind its own business.

Also, for those people who think every Israeli person in control of America and destroying America, they're crazy.

The Israelis are going through the same exact thing the Americans are going through. Just like elements of our government are ruthless and corrupt, certain elements of the Israeli government are ruthless and corrupt.

It's the same thing. Imagine saying every American is responsible for the Iraq war? That would be totally crazy.

I'm spreading Ron Paul in Israel everyday and so far, I've been getting a very positive response. It's awesome how his name is traveling the globe.

Let's keep it going!

crazy world isn't it...

i'm an atheist blue dog democrat voting for ron paul

...and i have more jewish friends than christians. (i was raised catholic).

...but, life experience got me where I'm at...happy. kind. considerate. inclusive. tolerant. brave. strong. compassionate. I think most Ron Paul supporters exhibit that, regardless of race, religion, age, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

That is beautiful. That is America.

Exactly!

Bigotry in any form is evil and disgusting. We're all human.
