Ron Paul Just Mentioned on PBS' NewsHour

On the 7 pm PBS NewsHour a few minutes ago, Gwen Infill was interviewing a couple of political analyst types about second quarter contributions raised by the Presidential candidates. Both analysts stuck to the so-called top tier candidates.

Gwen is a good person and it seemed to me that she began structuring her questions in order to get a Ron Paul mention from either of them. Over and over I thought NOW they will HAVE to mention Ron Paul. They did not.

Finally at almost the end, Gwen just came out and said, 'What about Ron Paul? Didn't he raise a surprising amount of money? One of the analyst-types made some nutty reply that the race was wide open and there was always someone who captured the imagination of some segment or another. Gwen pressed again and said something about the incredible internet presence and the amount of money. The analysts then switched a bit and said, "well, yes we will probably be seeing him around for some time and in the debates."

(Gwen is a closet Ron Paul fan....I could tell!)

may take on it

There was a recent bill up to end the neutral public funding for NPR/PBS, etc. While I agree with eliminating this type of funding in general, it is obvious that the reason Bush was pushing this was to silence the one semi-main stream news source that they can't control (They actually talk about some of the insanity going on in the white house from a factual perspective).

I know Ron would have voted to end the funding, but I am glad RP would have lost that fight. I do not know enough about Net Neutrality to say one way or another. What I do know is this, if our government/corps had less of a stranglehold on things then these issues would matter less, so govt regs are a dangerous, if well meaning, foothold for them. But on the other side, some truly neutral regulations and such do exist (the NPR/PBS funding) that have actually helped keep our speech free for a little while longer.

These issues are mostly decided by congress anyway, with the president only having a veto power if the required vote counts aren't there to push it through.

The fact is that we aren't always going to agree with one individual on everything and that is one of the reasons for checks and balances. The fact is, with Ron Paul, at least we KNOW when/where we disagree! Would you rather the politicians that will just say whatever you want to hear?

Honestly, with as many important issues as we have to deal with, I would have to lose respect for AJ (who has talked about many of them) for turning his back on Paul for one (if important, issue) that Paul wouldn't even have the power to do anything on directly anymore as President.

PBS and Gwen Ifill

That PBS page on Ron is great! None of the usual negative slaps about him being a "long-shot candidate," etc. The way media should be. After all, "It ain't over, 'til it's over and who knows what the final result will be?"

Gwen Ifill has always impressed me as perhaps the most intelligent, real, and self-assured talking head on TV. We're lucky that she got to put a plug in for Ron!

PBS and NPR have excellent demographics to reach potential Ron Paul supporters. Very intelligent, educated, and savvy bunch of listeners, though usually there seems to be a leftward leaning. The Paul campaign should strive for more exposure through PBS.

Net Neutrality

Yo Mike, don't take either Alex or Dr. Paul's word for it because it isn't necessary. Read the proposed legislation which is available online and only then form your opinion whether it's good or bad for the nation.

Yours Very Truly,

Schvenzlerman

P.S. Alex is not God

hey, can you or anyone else

hey, can you or anyone else provide the link to the legislation? i can't seem to find it.

Troll??

Does anyone get the feeling bromike is just looking to pick a fight? Sorry bud, but calling people freaks when they disagree makes you look like a little child.

PBS On-Going Online Page on Ron Paul

I am impressed. There is a great deal of super information for a PBS loyal who perhaps knows little about Ron Paul to learn from this page. There are a lot of intelligent older people out there who use the net for email and such and may really read about RP first here. They all love Bill Moyers and the page mentions his interview with Ron Paul. The page clearly points that Ron was never for the war in Iraq and a lot of other good things. Way to go PBS.

Alex Jones is calling him out about it today in Hour 2 of his infowars radio show. this is very bad. if Alex Jones turns against Ron Paul, it's all over and you know it.

net neutrality is BAD for the internet

like most bills, they do the exact opposite of what they are named to do. net neutrality actually leads to more internet regulation and Ron saw that and justly voted against the bill. the name is confusing a lot of people and that is why the creator of the bill named it that.

You guys honestly believe Alex Jones is going to dis Paul

You honestly believe Alex Jones is going to dis Paul -- the only non-establishment candidate -- because of net neutrality?

Please.

2ndly, Alex Jones doesn't have near the following that people like to pretend he has. To say he'll "make or break" Paul's campaign is ridiculous.

alex Jones

If Alex would look at the Bill he would realize that Net Neutrality starts the process of regulating the internet not making it freer.

It's incrementalism just packaged as a new flavor.

It takes the web from free to fair to controlled to regulated.

We have seen it again and again.

Alex Jones should be ashamed at not doing his homework.

Ron Paul Is Wrong, And So Are You!

Net Nuetrality Is good, don't ever believe anyone who tells you different, i know there are many "pipe dream" arguments about the free market and what it "could" provide, but, this is the real world, and if the net goes 2.o and into private control,we all die in fema camps real fast! not joking.

Hey, man

Are you serious?

You should be going less to Alex Jones school and more to Ron Paul school. If you think any group leader can make or break Ron Paul, you don't understand Ron Paul. And I appreciate Alex Jones.

Net neutrality becomes net futility once the the law gets tweaked by the wrong government hands working for the CORRUPT corporations (not the FREE MARKET corporations). Stick with Ron, he's been thinking about this for a good long while.

"You guys are disgusting doing what you are doing. Where is your patriotism? How are you supposed to support troops when they are home? Do you want to make them hug their families, now?"

dude, stop your group think

if Ron Paul is wrong then he is wrong, no if ands or buts, i feel the same way about ALEX JONES except i cant, have not yet found ALEX JONES to be wrong about much of anything.
NET NEUTRALITY IS GOOD. dont be a lemming and say its not because your boy ron paul doesnt like it. be a man and defend it at least, dont just lie and say its not that important, IF IT WASNT FOR NET NEUTRALITY THIS WEB SITE WOULDNT BE ALLOWED YOU FOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. if ALEX JONES SAYS RON IS DONE>>>>>>>RON IS DONE>
believe it.

Creeping in around the edges

Hooray! So, he's mentioned on the News Hour, and today he got a mention in the NY Times, in a story about him being on the new Liberty Dollar:

Looks like the internet is leaking...into the real world...!!!

He's the man.
