Veteran's widow needs help (chipin link added)
A widow of a veteran from the Viet-Nam war (Mary Davison of Devine, Texas) had her husband pass away in October and is having problems getting the survivor's benefits she deserves. The VA has told her that it will be a year or more before her case is determined which would cause her to lose her home and most of the possessions of her and her deceased husband. Her husband, Danny, was shot in the head in 1971 and lost a good portion of the left side of his brain. He made a strong recovery but was deemed non compas mentis and Mary handled all the affairs of the marriage. He died from cancer caused by agent orange. If any one can help with calls or letters to members of Congress or any other means to bring pressure on the VA to resolve this case faster it would be a big help. There is no way that an organization set up to "care for him that hath borne the battle, his widow and orphan" should take so long on such an issue.

Who is her congressperson? What district is she in?
If Devine is in central Texas, then she has Lloyd Doggett, and very lucky she is. Mr. Doggett will fix it fast. If she is along the coast, then Dr. Paul will handle it. If neither of them, let us know so we can start e-mailing. Thanks.
