A One-World Government Would Save Mankind.
Imagine that, a Daily Pauler who believes a one-world government is a good thing.
Not some NWO type scenarios like many of you picture, but perhaps a much better one.
Perhaps the United States should become the world government, peacefully.
Imagine an American government so limited as to have only the explicit powers and duties established by The Constitution. What precludes it from allowing other nations to just join?
We've certainly extended the offer to Puerto Rico, but thus far they have declined.
Would it be so awful if other nations began to join? If we truly limited the government to protection and dispute resolution, why wouldn't Japan join our country or Korea for that matter? What would preclude the Caribbean nations from accepting the protection of joining a weak union of states?
The only necessary measures that must be taken to join should be a 2/3 majority of the joining nation and a 2/3 majority of states voted by the people.
Eventually, if we truly began to embrace our roots as a bastion of personal and economic freedom, there would be no need to spread democracy by force; we could do it by example. We could eventually bring the whole world under the protection and guidance of the United States Constitution.
This is the way, the US Constitution. They showed us what we needed to do, and we've let it grow outside of our control. If we can take our country back, if we can truly push our leaders and demand in force that they restrict their actions to only the ones we've allowed of them, the NWO or Illuminati or whatever shadow group wants to rule the world, they can't, because we aren't slaves. This document gives us the right not to be slaves to some giant government, and thus as long as we fight within it to defend what it stands for, so long as we don't stop fighting the loss of this document, we remain free.
Please don't get discouraged, our message is being heard. It is working, the world is listening. We can still save what we have.
It's the message, if we keep to the message that we want dramatically smaller government, that we want an end to the income tax, that we want only to use our soldiers to protect the United States, and that we will respect property rights, and personal rights.
America wants the above, they are practically begging for it. We want the government out of our lives, off of our backs, and out of other nation's business.
Withdraw our troops from around the globe...if you want American's protection, join us.

No Thanks
Government needs to be smaller not larger. No way could have you an entire world agree on things. If anything, The US should break up into states as their own country. Perhaps with a very limited federal government to make sure things go smoothly, like the regulation of rivers and streams so no nation gets to starve another of it natural resources merely because it is up river. That is all a federal government needs to do.
there would be no need to
there would be no need to spread democracy by force;
WE are a REPUBLIC not a democracy.. if you think our army is in other nations to spread democracy you are dead wrong.. our army is in other nations to make people bow down to the united nations.. so much wrong with this post I do not even know where to start!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
Who said anything about force?
I'm talking about spreading OUR republic via inclusion.
This can happen if our republic can return and maintain it's constitutional authority. We're set up as a nation built on the mutual consent of all states to be part of the union.
We have turned SEVERELY wrong from that path, but to think that it would be unattainable to maintain a limited form of government, I think you're all mistaken.
We have to capture the pursestrings, and encode our monetary freedom into an amendment. Repeal the income tax, and return (somehow, i'm not sure how) to honest money coined backed by a precious metal. Encode your monetary freedom, and also encode that borrowing shall only occur in times of war declared by congress.
Presto, you have eliminated a massive and parasitic government from our backs. They can't collect taxes on our wages, and can't borrow money. They'll be forced to (gasp) cut the budget severely.
The only way the government remains a huge and overintrusive machine, is through the dollars. Cut the dollars, destroy the machine.
Sure, this doesn't protect us from the government, but it's a good first step.
Would you accept other nations to join the US if it was common consent of both people? Under a properly operating Constitution, would there not be room for another state?
Is anyone interested in allowing other states to join the union, or are we done at 50?

I think laws/amendments
I think laws/amendments would need to take place to ensure that congress nor any other body of the government could ever interefere in the marketplace in ANY WAY ever again.
No government can
save mankind.
A One-Government World...
...would be a big step in the right direction, leaving just one last band of criminals to vanquish.

Worst logic...
I've ever seen.
How about you THINK about your proposal aye? The logical conclusion of it...
One World Government, One world military (peacekeepers).. who would invade and have more power than any other military on the planet. Good luck defending against that.
Are you that idiotic to think, that we can get past the MSM at a GLOBAL level? LMFAO..
It amazes me that there are people in this movement, who drop the ball so easily.
Ok...here's your answer to war
If we returned to a constitutional government, all wars would be declared by congress. A war is considered an act against another country.
If there is no other country, there is no war. The United States would cease to be able to declare war against any nation, if every nation were dissolved into being a state of the US.
Perhaps this is what our forefathers envisioned, that the people of England would rise up as well, and they would join us.
If anyone here was a foreign national, would you join the US if they protected you and your rights, and were unable to tax you?

lmao.
Piiiiiiipppppppe Dream.
That's how it started out mate, and look what it is now...
The Great American Experiment was the next step in the move towards freedom, it went beyond the Magna Carta in provisions of rights...
But it FAILED to protect them. The PREMISE is flawed; governments are instituted to protect peoples rights, but they ALWAYS go beyond it. They NEVER remain limited.
"If anyone here was a foreign national, would you join the US if they protected you and your rights, and were unable to tax you?"
Hahahaha!!! Are you blind to history, seriously? Come on jeff, you should be better than this.
Ummm... you know immigrants? All those that fled their countries to join the United States.... YEAHHhhh ummm.. there was a reason for that. I wonder what that was?
In wouldn't remain limited, the state would continue to grow...

With a nation state - at least the police are your OWN citizens...
With one world government, they would deploy - say former INDIAN POLICE into PAKISTAN... or Former BRITISH troops into IRELAND...
LOCAL GOVERNMENT if anything...
*facepalms
I'm not agreeing with a one world government
dear.. I'm saying that if forced into one it wouldn't be hard to see the head at that point for it would show itself.

Rather than ONE government,
Rather than ONE government, for ALL the people, we need ALL people to control ONE government, their own.
Until then, this thread fails remarkably.
This is clinically RETARDED
You obviously haven't learnt your history - STATES do NOT remain limited.
Take a look around you FFS.
You're going to re-try the same FAILED experiment?
NO Constitution EVER LIMITED the STATE forever.
The State is a WEED, the Constitution is poision. Over time the Weed gets accustomed to it, and it stops having an affect.
Anarcho-Capitalism for the WIN.
The only position of Libertarianism that is consistent.
If you want One World Government, you're giving the NWO exactly what they want. Wake the ---- up.

Nice double standard
My whole life, every person feels it's their duty and right to convert me to believe in something else.
Someone questions my beliefs, and I must keep them to myself?
Isn't it funny that those who are hell bent on sharing their beliefs with you are never open to hearing yours?

No God. Thats it done. We are no better then dogs or cats. Just a bunch of dog eat dog beasts trying to evolve to a higher plane. Its simple.
When you die? earthworms lots and lots of earthworms. Maybe you come back as a corn or a rutabega. So simple we get it.

Mine are simple?
My beliefs are not simple in fact. I feel humans are much better than dogs and cats, at least, we have the ability to be.
Just because I don't speak to an invisible intangible being who doesn't speak back, does not mean I am without beliefs.
I don't believe life began from nothing on this planet. There are too many things missing to explain it properly. I believe life on this planet came from spores on a meteorite. Life elvolved from nothing, but not likely on Earth.
I believe that humans are driven by a natural instinct, only to want more for themselves and their family. I believe that to be man's greatest driving instinct, that of self.
I believe that very little else is programmed into the human brain by design. Everything else must be learned. Man is not born with a conscience, or love, or compassion. Man is also not born evil. All higher thought must be learned.
I believe that when you die, you die. You are gone to the world. All that is left is the people you've interacted with and the things that you've done. You changed this planet just by living on it.
That means to me, that if you want a good part of yourself to live on, you have to make a positive difference on this Earth. If you generally are good to people, or worked to advance the knowledge, or simply entertained people living on this planet with you, you'll live on.
I also believe it is a natural instinct to not want to die. Of course you don't want to cease to exist. Maybe someday (perhaps sooner than you think) man will have solved this mystery. Perhaps that's what we are moving toward, the end of aging. Being immortal sounds far fetched, but I believe it to be far from impossible. I believe that it this can be used to make man immortal, than it should come to be.
But...who am I to judge...it is you who have the complicated belief system.
"God made the universe, God made me. God puts the good thoughts into my head, and the devil makes me do bad things. God will let me live forever in bliss, but only if I pick the correct religion. Care not for the world you leave behind for your children, for they're coming with you to paradise eventually."
Religion seems like it breeds inaction. I want freedom, and peace, but I can't have it because you are bent on waiting around for Jesus to get back. Only Jesus can provide you peace and freedom, so you'll have to go it alone Japan. The US can only take 50 states, because we don't want to expand and include others in the dream.

Here is the problem
The bigger a government gets, the harder it is to change anything. Remember the "free market of states"? With a large number of locally governed states it is possible to "vote with your feet" and move to a different state that has laws that are more favorable. Also, with a smaller local government, it is easier to change laws that are bad.
The other obvious reason would be that a world government would be too easy to take over. Instead of having to take over nation by nation, all the bad guys would have to do is take over one little body.
Mmmm
You're simply making the argument for returning the Federal Government to its original role: an apparatus to regulate interstate commerce, resolve state disputes, and present a coherent foreign policy.
By limiting the areas that the federal government has authority over and reempowering the states, the vast majority of legislative power would be placed in the hands of the smaller and more localized governments. And, as to a large centralized government being a weak point that allows an easy take over: If we have a proper and constitutionally restrained federal government then there would be no point to taking over the central government as it would be incapable of making sweeping changes to the way the country was run without altering the constitution (which is no small task if your goal is to curb states rights).
True...but
If you limit that one little body to a specific set of rights and duties, and i'm talking about severely limit the power and scope...bad guys would have nothing to gain by taking it over.

Uh, no.
The idea of the United States of Terra will never work until man is able to set aside their petty differences and act together as a whole species instead of a group of subsets separated by languages, cultures, religions, and economics, always bickering with each other. As a species, humans just are not there yet, and we won't be until we get a collective kick in the ego so hard it makes us hit bottom and reconsider things at the fundamental levels we assume for granted now. That's not advocating state-sponsored or state-enforced collectivism in the slightest. But it is advocating voluntary consideration of others over self-interest.
And that's just the easy part on the social and psychological side.
Politically, forget it. That's even worse.
Double no for you
Man needs to work together rather than in groups?
No....man needs to learn to work for himself. Man needs to not belong to any group.
No collectivism at all. Only individual rights.

Try again.
Civilization is BASED on humans working together for a common benefit.
The question is whether people as individuals are free to work together of their own accord or are forced to do so by some outside threat.
The former is called a free society. The latter is called tyranny. And playing on fears of the latter is how wars happen.
Anybody who thinks that they can function completely 100% without any help is an utter fool.
Go reread what I said: I specifically was NOT advocating for collectivism. I was advocating for peaceful cooperation.
Individualism requires a higher level of thought and wisdom than 99.5% of humans are capable of at the present time.
Who are you?
Are you a rockefeller?
Good god...there are a lot of misunderstandings in here.
1. We do not get our rights from the US Constitution. They are our natural rights inherent in being human. Look into Natural Law.
2. We do not, nor should we ever hope for, a world government even under the most limited terms. Our government was supposed to be the most limited in history according to the US Constitution. It has become the most powerful in history.
3. If you really want to spread the message, understand it. Read of sound economics and political theory. Rothbard owns.
Right Philosophy
Indeed, leading by example is the right course, but who would argue that our recent policies are anything that would be appealing to other nations? We must reverse course and regain our respect in the world community by ending the imperialism and living up to the standards set in the constitution before this method of expansion would be attractive. A repeal of the 17th Amendment would also offer more incentive to join our union, as that would give the States more influence in larger affairs. This really should be done anyway in order to influence the States that we have now not to secede and to return power "down the line" to where it belongs. A popular vote for Senate seats is too easily manipulated, where giving that representation back to the states would tend to bring that influence back toward the local level.

Yes, first steps first
Who would join us now? This isn't the first step, but perhaps an eventual end if we can win the day.
