Why not truly Federalize the Federal Reserve? Its here, and if we can't get rid of it then FEDERALIZE it! I know that most of the Founding Fathers didn't want a Central Bank, but if the evil is going to creep in and give us one then we should have created one before they could. Now that they have created it, lets just TRULY FEDERALIZE IT!!!
The reason the Fed can steel from us is because it is PRIVATE! If we had a fully governmental central bank then there would be transparency, but now that the Fed can say "no" to an audit there is no transparency at all, even in government because the Fed, "the receiver of the bankruptcy", owns the federal government.

The questions are also:
How much money do the people that own the FED make directly and indirectly (as they and their friends know what stock/bond/etc markets are going to do before you and me)? Let's call this "A".
How much money does it take to bribe... or... influence... congress to keep the status quo? Let's call this "B".
If A >>>> B, then don't expect any change soon.

As bad as the Fed is, the Fed would be even worse if it were run directly by the executive or congressional branch of the Federal government. They would run the printing presses day and night. Certainly we should push for more transparency, as Ron Paul does. However, the real problem with the Fed is that it has the mandate and the means to manipulate the money markets, and even other markets, as it is doing now.
