HUGE OPPORTUNITY!! Have Your Ron Paul Ad SHOWN ON TV!!
Submitted by rs3515 on Tue, 11/13/2007 - 20:25I previously talked with the national campaign about the Ron Paul Ad Competition (http://www.youtube.com/RonPaulAdCompetition). Just got off the phone with Don and we now have a HUGE opportunity!
CNN has requested for the campaign to submit a 30 second ad to be used as a bumper when going in to commercial during the Nov 28 CNN/YouTube Debate. The national campaign has asked us, the Ron Paul Grassroots Supporters, to be the ones to develop the ad to be shown! WOW!!!
Please let everyone know as quickly as possible because we don't have much time! Here are the rules ... READ THESE VERY CAREFULLY:
- Ad must be exactly 30 seconds; no more, no less.
- Ad will be shown for the FIRST TIME EVER PUBLICLY during the debate. Any video uploaded to YouTube for public viewing or accidentally placed on the Internet will be disqualified.
- Ad must be available in both NTSC-ready format (for TV viewing) and smaller YouTube-size for review.
- NO copyright violations. Must use original music, video and images, or need to have permission. If permission received, documentation MUST be provided for review.
- Ads will be sent to us no later than Friday, November 23 at 8:00 AM Eastern Time, no exceptions.
- Ad must be uploaded to YouTube in PRIVATE mode, with RonPaulAdCompetition as the only available viewer. Do NOT upload it as public!!
What happens after the ads are submitted?
- A group of marketing professionals, including myself, will review the ads on Friday and narrow down to a group of 4-6.
- The final videos will be sent to the national campaign for their review on Saturday, November 24 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) Eastern Time.
- The national campaign will select one (1) video of the 4-6 finalists to send to CNN on Monday, November 26 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
- The selected ad will be shown during the CNN/YouTube debate on Nov. 28th!
Start rolling people it's time to make this happen!!! If you have questions email me at rp.ad.comp@gmail.com, or visit http://www.youtube.com/RonPaulAdCompetition for more details (once I get it set up!).

I agree it's all about fun!
I agree it's all about fun!
This sounds fun
Like Dr. Paul says "gotta have some fun." Please make it up lifting and positive. This really should be on the front page so we don't have to keep bumping it.

Don't forget "Frankdogg" and "eLIB3RTY"
I think a friendly competition between these two individuals would have an interesting result :-)

Or what if they combined
Or what if they combined their talents together to make one SUPER ad??
Yep you typed it faster than
Yep you typed it faster than I could below. And Avaroth too. ;) But let's make sure we get lots, lots more people!!
Make sure we do something big with all the adds that do not win
All the adds that do not win should be displayed in one or more places for viewing after the event passes. The many different videos will have an important influence as well. Let's make this bigger than just one video shown. Lets get the ball rolling for displaying many videos.
Yes we will definitely make
Yes we will definitely make ALL the videos public once the event has passed!! They will all be available at http://www.youtube.com/RonPaulAdCompetition.
However make sure that NO ONE sees the videos before 11/28 other than the campaign and the people running Ron Paul Ad Competition. Otherwise the ad will be DISQUALIFIED!
This is a no brainer.
This is very professional, catchy, and all of the things an ad needs to be. Especially for the audience that will be viewing the debate. THIS IS THE AD THAT NEEDS TO BE AIRED!!!

Sorry about that. BUT I am very passionate about my opinion on this.

No brainer is right!
I love this ad, a close second is the operation NH ADs
kipload, I like it a lot
kipload, I like it a lot too, but CNN's requirement is this ad must make it's world premier during the debate. Cannot have been available for viewing previously.
Well...
Well let's find out who produced the ad and get them to make something new. They obviously have the talent and vision we need.

Have already done so ... the
Have already done so ... the creators of the three most popular videos (eLIB3RTY, Avaroth and frankdogg on YouTube) have been emailed. They are aware. However what we do need is LOTS more people to get involved in this!! Let's produce something really amazing!
This is Great!!
Too bad the "taxman" line isn't worked in somewhere...
but I LIKE IT!!
awww the site says "no prior public releases" and it sounds like they pick em' - not us.
"The question is not who will let me- the question is who will stop me" - Ayn Rand
If copyright infringement is a barrier for background music -
I'm sure Rockie Lynne would kick in some tunes for 30 seconds...
and for some kewl free video - there would be nothing like Ron Paul's speech from the steps of Grand Central Station...
there are many of these:

enhance the audio and voila! instance 30 second spot...

Need everyone to share about
Need everyone to share about this!!
I say
I say use this 30 seconds for the TEA PARTY!
We're open to all and any
We're open to all and any ideas ... whatever gets the Ron Paul message to all the viewers.
This is absolutely true. If
This is absolutely true. If any of you saw the Democractic CNN/YouTube Debate from a few months ago, they had the same type of setup. Each candidate was given a chance to present a 30 second commercial/video as a "bumper" when either heading to commercial or returning from commercial.
This is done during the telecast, it isn't just a regular on-air commercial. Some on the Dems side just decided to use it to take a clip from speeches they gave, while Chris Dodd had a humorous take on things: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LassUzs34E
IF THIS IS TRUE - BUMP
IF TRUE.... BUMP...
Is it CNN giving him this time
or is it the campaign that bought the spot? Seems to me from the youtube page abut the competition that the campaign might have bought a national spot during the debate.
They're probably doing this
They're probably doing this for all of the candidates. During the Youtube Democratic Debate, they showed a commercial for each candidate throughout the debate.
Yep, exactly right. See my
Yep, exactly right. See my comment above.
Use your enemies... (Response to message: "Phoney")
Don't you realize that we want the message to reach as many people as possible? I mean, the whole reason we are against the MSM is their failure to cover Paul's campaign. So why shouldn't we jump at the opportunity to get his message out, it's free publicity.
phoney
What a bunch of whores you all are. One minute you are all crying out that the media is ignoring Ron Paul, and as soon as they throw you some scraps from their table you all start waging your tails.
All the candidates are asked
All the candidates are asked to provide a 30 second video for this CNN/YouTube format.
Whoa there Tiger
First of all the MSM was not covering RP at all for a long time. CNN as of late has been covering him albeit not always positive, but covering him in a legitimate way none the less. Now whether you like it or not many people realize that millions of people believe the media is real and they tell the truth all the time. (crazy huh) Well I personally believe that RP is going to be treated as a first tier candidate in this debate and I think that no bad can come from that. If you do could you please enlighten me rather than calling me a whore? Please!
Realtor for Ron Paul
Realtor for Ron Paul
?
Ok! Is this effort going to be coordinated by the RP campaign director? Or are you just going to give away all of your best ideas to be sold then to the Guliani camp?
Also Rule 2) Any video uploaded to YouTube for public viewing or accidentally placed on the Internet will be disqualified....Which basically means that all of the most creative wannabes will get seduced into wasting their time producing another boring party political broadcast.
Ok, maybe whores is a bit strong, but the fact is that you are already beating them at their own game, so why go back to the kindergarten.
In any case, the adds are going to be shown during the debate, so what's the point in that???
It's just a waste of time, like when a teacher gives you a futile task to perform while she pops out for a quick fag and a romp with the gym teacher.
If you really want to win you can't play by their rules. After all the name of this game is that the winner ends up making the rules. This is real life, its not a game anymore.
Listen to the adds that you've being making. "Wake up"
I suppose in the end I'm daring to ask the question that hasn't been asked of RP yet which is ... Are you ready to win? Otherwise this is all just a pointless exercise that will just lead to even more disillusionment with democracy.
Help me out here
Does this rant even have a point? I don't even know who the subject of this person's criticism is. The first two "topics" make absolutely no sense. How would we be giving "away all our best ideas to be sold ..."? Secondly, yeah, there are some great vids floating around online that won't be eligible under this rule and that's a shame. But "wannabees"? "Wasting their time?" I hardly call creating a terrific ad to support the Paul campaign wasting one's time, nor do I think the people creating them are "creative wannabees". This is a chance for these talented people (I wish I was one of them) to make a really great video for Ron Paul that will be seen by a national audience. I can't believe you would even dare to ask if we are ready to win. Give me a break.
And yeah, try to refrain yourself from calling your fellow posters "whores". Doesn't bode well for you.
