Taxation Without Representation

I was just in back of a vehicle registered in DC. Never saw a DC plate before. Can anyone else verify for me?? Did I see this correctly?

The 'state' motto was "Taxation Without Representation".

I did one of those Looney Tunes head shakes. I thought maybe it was a joke, I actually took a snapshot of it with my camera phone because I couldn't believe it,

There was no other plate on the car. It looked legit (as much as anything from DC can) and the cops weren't pulling him over...

Can this actually be the motto of DC??? Can they get anymore blatant?

My opinion is DC should not have residents,

It should be a government facility only with housing for government employees. The residential portion of DC should be controlled by the surrounding states.

I think that's a pretty telling motto...

Not just for the folks in DC... for all they rule.

That's the license plate in DC

They have been screaming for State's rights for years. The residents of DC do not have a voting member of congress.

The reason they give for putting that phrase on the plates is because they are only allowed one representative. Thus they are taxed with no (in reality, little) representation.

sorry for the block.

This guy Mark Plotkin used to come on WAMU radio on fridays with a whole show about how DC residents were being shafted. It really is very odd.
