The high-profile nature of the sacrificial ceremonies indicates that human sacrifice played an important political function. The Mexica used a sophisticated package of psychological weaponry to maintain their empire, aimed at instilling a sense of fear into their neighbours. European empires, in contrast, were typically secured through the creation of garrisons and installation of puppet governments in conquered towns or settlements. The Mexica used human sacrifice as a weapon of terror even against the Spanish conquistadors, whose fallen victims were sacrificed and sometimes skinned and their bloody heads placed at the tzompantli. From across the empire even the chiefs of enemy towns were invited, or in the case of tributary towns obliged, to attend sacrificial ceremonies in Tenochtitlan. Their refusal would be considered an act of defiance against the Mexica.

In this thread, I described my divergent, peripheral vision hodgepodgery, but near so aptly as ‘wickerwork of thoughts, information and musique’. (Especially, the ‘musique’ part… see that’s how this works, my knight errant friend)

In following up new topics, by reference to old posts with related themes, I don’t always realize why I selected the words that emerge to provide the clues and insight… But upon reflection, we each discover things we didn’t consciously realize were there in the first place.

The near term emerging events are coming to a head… throwing ash …and getting ready to erupt. People will realize – all too abruptly – what a mess they have allowed to happen to their paper assets … crooked games rigged behind locked doors by the sleazy cabal of coked up HOUSE'S -- broker-dealers who sloshed septic swill while they kited counterfeit using their corrupt clearing house side kicks like the DTCC… all in collaboration with dirty regulators, spooks and other sinister covert Machiavellians, dutifully serviced by toady handmaidens of the captive media. These are not such extreme statements, now, during intermission with the stage lights turned up.
