In a New History of NSA, Its Spies' Successes Are [Redacted]
Agency Tells Story but Keeps Victories Secret; The Day the Soviets Changed Their Codes - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122660908325125509.html
During the 1960s and early 1970s, the NSA officials who ran the Agency’s domestic watch-list/eavesdropping program (Minaret) disguised the origin of their reports because they “seemed to understand that the operation was disreputable if not outright illegal.”
NSA, once dubbed "No Such Agency," was created in a secret executive order in 1952 to intercept electronic communications through eavesdropping. It wasn't until 16 years later that its power to eavesdrop on foreigners was established in public law
According to the declassified report, government eavesdroppers generated half of their intelligence reports just after World War II from listening in on the French. Code breakers missed a key tip-off in the Cuban Missile Crisis. The report also suggests that, for the most part, the government couldn't crack high-grade Soviet communications codes between World War II and the 1970s.
The report's author, Thomas R. Johnson, declined to say how the edited history compares with the original version.
He spent more than six years writing the report, divided into four intelligence eras, that draws on his 34 years in government eavesdropping around the world. When friends asked him when they would read it, the 68-year-old would say: "We'll all be dead before this is declassified."
Historians are working to get their hands on a fourth volume that Mr. Johnson wrote about the NSA. Mr. Johnson says it includes "a couple of instances" during the 1980s where "somebody really made a bad error here and should have been fired.
"I hope it will come out," he says about the fourth volume. "It's still classified."

tonight, I blame women. for all our troubles!
and I am sitting in my cave fuming about it. I thought it a bit odd that both the federal reserve and the income tax both got passed at about the same time, 1913. so I looked up that year and timeframe and lo and behold! women won the right to vote in 1910!
and what was the first thing they did!

Women voted for the Federal Reserve?
I didn't know that.
I wonder how many were invited to Jekyll Island?
Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!
I have no idea....
I just thought it odd that both things happened at about the same time. I also understand they passed it dec 22nd. but hey, if we can get more ron paul chicks? I am all for it! for all I know it never even went to a popular vote. it is my newest conspiracy theory, women were tricked! think it will fly?

Have a Great Weekend!
We're having another family meal together tomorrow. It's lots of fun getting together. The discussions on political and economic issues are hot, but we always part as relatives, if not friends.

Mining Stock going to make me $$$
Symbol SRSR, a junior mining company.
Scott Keevil grandson of billionaire and Tech Mining founder becomes CEO. Buys lake Nemegosenda property in Feburary. Property was extensively drilled and studied in 50's by Gulf Dominion Company. Scotts grandfather used Gulf Dominion work to find his first mine and start Teck Mining. See what is going on here.
The drilling and testing showed 20,000,000 tons of 0.47 percent Nb2O5(Niobium) material in a block 600 by 800 feet in size and to depths up to 600 feet. That is worth over $5 billion dollars. The company is currently drilling to retest the older Gulf drilling. The stock is trading at .014 with about a $10 million dollar market cap.
Basically I think this is a true undiscovered gem. Once the drilling results come back and confirm the Gulf work this stock could within a few days be trading at .15 to .30 If you got a few hundred or a thousand to invest check this thing out.
All the research and info about company can be found here.

Chillaxin in the Hot Tub
The rainy season is upon this Pacific Island, it has been dark and stormy (25 to 30 knot winds) all day. Dreary.
But alas there is a ray of sunshine in the gloom, comfort foods. What I like most about the cold-rainy season is the warmth of the kitchen, hanging out with friends, drinking red wine and cooking some Italian classics or some Eastern European meals that stick to your ribs and heat up your furnace.
Top the night off with a Hot Rum in the Hot Tub.
Of course if I had a nice girl to hang out with it would be even better :~(
That's about it for me this weekend.

obama's team does not take over
Fortune Favors the Bold
untill obama is sworn in in January, however they are already working with the outgoing administration.
By the way, I'm not sure, but I don't think cabinet positions require a swearing in ceremony, as the cabinet is not inscribed by the constituion but rather by custom.

It's 4:20
time to relax. (MST)
I just finished shoveling the six inches of slushy snow that fell yesterday and last night. Also walked my wolf and another that I'm taking care of this weekend. It's been very quiet, which is always nice, and the moisture softened some of the harsh edges around town. So far, life is good in 4 corners USA. I have a new standard of measuring each day: I ask myself if it's better than being dead. I'm currently on a roll.
4:20 here as well
Oh wait, it's 8pm.....what were we talking about?
82 degrees and 70% humidity
Anyone want to trade?
