I find the whole Paul/Ventura or Paul/Johnson thing extremely nearsighted. It's stupid to put all your eggs in one basket. Trying to settle on or decide who you want to back in 4 years. There's a lot more to it than that. Like the fact that you can potentially have a dozen other people running for the nomination. This dilutes the the total amount of time any single candidate can get air time. If you want the message to get out you need to have voices getting it out. So don't settle because we need to get as many people who are on our side to run. If Paul gets the nomination then sure I can see a Paul/Johnson ticket. But things may not come down that way at all. What if Johnson got the nomination? Or what if Johnson could have got the nomination if you weren't so stuck in your thinking and we lose both as any possibility?

Think back to when the race for the nominations began. Do you think these wannabes like Thompson, Tancredo, Hunter really wanted to be President? They were just there to dilute the field. This way they when they didn't give Paul fair time. It could be easily justifiable to say well we gotta weigh time divided by number of candidates against popularity.

Then when you are the polar opposite everyone else on stage. The one lonely voice... The popular opinion will be decided by the number of your opposition. What was it in Pauls case like 11 to 1?

Seriously, if we're gonna do this we need to match however many corporate candidates they put up. If they put up 5 candidates for the nomination we need to put up 5 for the nomination.

Not only that but the alternate party tickets need to have quality candidates as well. Otherwise you'll end up with plants stifling our progress. Giving no or unworkable back-up plans.

So stop this non-sense with trying to settle on who should run. Even if all of our best potential candidates ran. It still wouldn't be enough. Instead of trying to settle now.

The question shouldn't be who should run, but who else should run also. Otherwise we'll be right back here burying ourselves in the hole we dug this time around.

Then Paul supports Ventura as an Independent IF Paul doesn't win.

We support them both and get Gary to run as RP's vp.

I throw my SUPPORT behind both; however, for reasons Hawkiye just explained, I am more likely to vote for Ventura than Ron Paul.

But I hope Ron Paul runs, because--despite his best efforts to get us to lead ourselves without his help--he IS the leader of this movement and I want him in the public eye.

Also, we are living in the proverbial "interesting times". A miracle in the primaries could happen.

There's the Gandalf Factor to consider--Ron Paul is an older man, but he galvanizes the young. Many of the people who nominated McCain will be in the retirement home four years from now. Whereas the twenty-somethings with the Ron Paul cardboard signs will still be voting.

I would prefer Ron Paul but I believe Jesse has more name recognition with the sheeple then Ron. And Jesse will run independent where as Ron Won't.

Ron Paul will never get the republican nomination because the fix is in. I would support Jesse if he runs independent.

Get Prepared!

As a governor, or even better as a Senator, I would vote for Ventura if I could, in a heartbeat. As a president? NO WAY. He is not diplomatic enough, he would not be the sort of peaceful negotiator I would want, and he truly is much more into violence than I believe my President would be.

He is a failed football league announcer.....You want to support a man for president who has made the decisions he has made in his life?

Oh wow he was a governor....freakin' Arnold is a governor and his father was a nazi...so much for credibility gained by being a governor.

By the way he was a C- football announcer on his best day.
