Conduct a new, independent investigation into the attacks of September 11, 2001
Given the hundreds of inconsistencies and contradictions that abound in the formal explanations provided to the world by the Bush Administration, it behooves the Obama administration to conduct a true, unbiased, independent investigation into what transpired on 9/11/01, which has since served as a pretext to start wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and roll back civil liberties via the Patriot Act.

DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing said petition (or the associated website), even if I agree with its premise of demanding a new, independent investigation of the events of 11 September 2001. I simply submit this article for discussion, which I hope that you will do.
I would add that, according to the website, "This idea is currently in 1st Place in Criminal Justice and is in position to make it into the second round" so it is obviously getting some traction.
update - Now, 'Legalise the Medicinal and Recreational Use of Marijuana' is '1st Place' in the 'Criminal Justice' category and this 'idea' has apparently been deleted from 'change.org' along with other 9/11-related 'ideas'.
Obviously, Obomba will be continuing the 9/11 cover-up.

Any so-called "investigation" by the Obama team would be nothing more than a rehash of the phony 9/11 Commission. Obama has proven that he doesn't even have the stones to appoint his own cabinet, much less produce a valid and thorough investigation on 9/11.
Any valid investigation would include NO representatives from the government and be completely government-free. Even then, they'd probably be threatened.

It was "outside the scope of" 'change.org' apparently. So presumably, ending the "Federal Reserve" banking cartel, for example, would fall outside of the "scope" of 'change.org'.

So lets say under public pressure the Obama regime agrees to an "independent investigation". They appoint this "independent committee" that is expected to go as far as it takes to find the truth? Even if it was to find that President Bush and his cabinet were co-conspirators with the outside Israeli government (inside when you check into the duel citizenship of so many of the present and the incoming cabinet) to create the event to crash planes with explosives into 2 world trade center buildings with three buildings previously planted with demolition explosives so that the third building (Command Central) would destroy all the records that could prove the coordinated efforts and evidence that implicated them. Then it is discovered the motive was to create an event that would be large enough to get us to demand the Patriot Act to take away our freedoms and demand we attack Afghanistan then while we are at it go on over and attack Iraq. In the mean time it is discovered that this lead to the production of a pipe line to the Gulf and privatization of Iraq's resources all to the US corporations. Then it found out that CIA operatives used Afghanistan for the production of opium production and sale to increased money for more covert operations that will lead to their ultimate plan of a New World Order, all while bringing the opium into our own country to justify the need for a war on drugs... or something like that.
I think the point here is, what do we expect to happen? To bring people to justice? We have a corrupt government down to the core! We have to know our enemy and expose them in smarter ways. Never expect to have them expose themselves.
I am not being negative, I am saying think harder. We have to think like they think and have them expose themselves. We have to be ready for their next planned event which is expected to create a planned response...then not respond as they expect but use it to bring us together as a nation to rise up and the masses must represent an idea that is ideological and cannot be stopped by the powerful few.
We have to out think them!

An independant investigation at best will raise awareness- which is definitely still worth fighting for, but folks shouldnt hang all of their hopes in defeating govt corruption on this one key area.
