Because Thailand isn't a mega-world-power run amuk...

...that would do anything, kill anyone, destroy everything in order to retain it's power.

Thailand's parliament was disbanded because of a protest? Good luck with that here.

Not

entirely true

Sonic weapons

They can disband a crowd with sonic weapons. Basically they can point huge directional microphones and send sound waves that torture anyone in their path.

If even an inkling that protestors were going to shut down an airport were to pop up, DHS would employ sonic weapons faster than you'll ever believe.

I believe there is a smoke filled room somewhere where they are planning contingency plans for an event just like this. Don't assume what can work in Thailand can work here.

What do you think about the war on drugs?
How about Operation Wall Street?
Shout it today!

But, that happened long ago.

Oh. You mean, get rid of the present incarnations of the main parties.

Because the National Guard or Army has way better weapons

than all of us put together.

I wouldn't be so sure of that "most"

Many in the military are there because they are trigger happy and look forward to actively engaging in armed conflict. And they have been so trained to follow orders, that even if most are on "our side", when the rubber meets the road, most of that most will toe the line and shoot us if need be.

You are very optimistic. I am too, except in this matter.

good points

at the same time I hear stories of our soldiers actually being in fear of the Blackwater thugs in Iraq.
Another thing is they can inject troops with drugs to alter their thinking process...
