Here in Upstate SC,
which is supposedly conservative, we get ultra liberal from the New York Times owned Spartanburg Herald or neo-conservative from the Gannett (USA Today) owned Greenville News.
It's sickening.
I would appreciate news representative of the area views, but its never going to happens as long as these ass clowns control the news.
I would definitely like to be involved in bringing back local ownership of newsprint to cities and/or the reporting of the truth that exposes government and corporate amerika's immoral and illegal behavior.
Remember when the media used to be called "a watchdog" - against gov't abuse and criminality. LOL. Now they are a watchdog to make sure the truth is covered up.
Remember; It's about a return on OUR MESSAGE!
I’ll try to explain the newsprint problem in this country, so listen up!
The newsprint industry is failing not because they do not have a place in the US economy. All “local” businesses throughout this country rely heavily on the news print industry for their advertising needs. These businesses include dealerships, groceries stores, department stores, commercial outlets, etc., etc., just to name a few. It will be years before the Internet moguls can figure out a viable way to take their place. My guess, it could be decades.
Another issue people forget is weekend newsprint readership is almost double that of weekday reading. You better ask yourself WHY? I know why, because I'm one of millions of Americans around this country who still appreciate newsprint with a cup of coffee on a relaxing Sunday morning.
The BIGGEST reason subscription readership is down is very simple, free thinking people are very turned off by all forms of main stream news media outlets, including news print, regarding their liberal minded thought process.
As these newsprint companies lose subscriptions, they also lose advertisings revenues, whose fees are based on paper sales, not content.
Because these newsprint companies are out of touch with their constituents, they are loosing their advertising venues to other newsprint companies such as the nickel add industry. The newsprint advertising potential is still there, and will be for years to come.
What these bloated bankrupt liberal mogul newsprint companies are offering us is a decent reader base, at bankrupt prices for pennies on the dollar.
No one has truly attempted to merge both worlds, the newsprint media and the Internet media together as a new business model. Instead most are trying to do both at the same time. Or they have tried to make the Internet their sole business model, which does not and will not work for generating local advertising revenues.
My idea would be to see the newsprint media to merge itself into a true marriage with the Internet media. The business model would have newsprints only on Monday (the new week business adds), Wednesdays (supermarkets use mid week adds), and Friday (weekend add day) and Sundays of course for the leisure reader. This business model cuts out Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday newsprint expenses.
The Internet part of the business model would operate electronic news and advertising seven days a week. The Internet side of the business would advertise its newsprint service, and of the course the newsprint side would advertise its Internet service.
Such a business model would cut out as much as 40% or more of the material costs on the newsprint side alone. This savings would be in the millions per year, for a newspaper of this size.
By firing all the liberal reporters at this present newspaper media, which is nearly all of them, you would save millions per month in salaries alone.
This idea is very due able. It will take someone with real business skills, and can SEE the DREAM.
Remember, we would not be doing this to get a return on our money, but a return on OUR MESSAGE!

There is a separate thread on here re:Chicago Newspaper
That someone submitted a RESPECTFULL and intelligent full page inquiry into Obama's birthplace. The story is now being discussed by the sheep, and spreading. Lesson learned?

Restore the Republic, USA Tomorrow, get Alex Jones on TV,
Buy subscriptions and give them as gifts.
No, I do not work for any of these.
Jdayh, I'll Throw My 2c In...Why Screw Around With Newsprint????
They are for sale for a reason: they are losing money.
We are on the media that killed them and we are going to either going to have to fight tooth and nail to stop the internet control they are pushing so hard for or.......................
We are going to have to build our own BACKBONE and be completely free of their system.

There is many of us already out here
trying to wake people up with publications (mine is monthly). We are a dying breed. Advertisements pay for a paper (subscriptions can as well-- but not as lucrative). Hello! Find your local guys and throw us some support! Most will print by request.. submit articles, letters to the editors.. but most of all BUY SOME ADVERTISING!! I have been using my publication for 20 months to wake people up and the BIG guys get all the advertising dollars!! STOP BUYING ADS WITH THE GANETT AND THE MAJOR CORP. PUBLICATIONS!! BUY SOME ADVERTISING FROM THE LITTLE GUYS WHO WILL PRINT YOUR SH*T!!!
Sorry, but come on!

Can we invest?
What about people like my husband and myself who could only afford a few dollars here and there...(maybe 50.00 a month is we're lucky)..buy stock you could say.
Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.
I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

working on this...
for this to work people could invest small amounts (like stock..or maybe stock) and also large amounts....
I am in this industry
I just escaped a layoff by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin.
Many of my coworkers didn't. Some were very hard workers.
Don't be completely fooled by the numbers being reported.
Neighborhoods still crave local news. Newspapers, most of which are owned by corporate entities, are not supplying this. The shots are being called from thousands of miles away.
Most papers are STILL making profits in the double digits. But are answering to shareholders, rather than their communities.
a locally owned\operated paper, can be successful.

No one reads print on wood fiber anymore.
What good is a newspaper? Let's buy the internets.
Now this is a great idea!
I am going to look into it locally..I will talk to a local newspaper owner I met recently!! If we owned some newspapers...lets think of which writers would be best to get articles from. We need to bring the internet news writers and stories, non- MSM spin news to people that do NOT get on the internet for news! This was one of our problems that we need to correct...we have a great online campaign ..but so many did not even know about it and still do not know!!!
Lets list the best writers of online newspapers across the country and blogs that could be regularly featured!

Suppose instead of buying a newspaper, we create a publisher.
A publication house with large presses for creating libertarian textbooks, news magazines, comic books, and so on.
Anyone interested?

With a good Money Bomb drive, the movement could buy ONE newspaper. I'd donate to that.

Possibilty
If we were able to organize an investment money bomb to purchase even one or two newspapers it would have a few tremendous effects:
1. We would have an outlet with a MSM nameplate. People are more trusting of newspapers with names like "Rocky Mountain News" as opposed to "End the Fed Daily".
2. By publishing honest, community centered newscoverage and pushing nation-wide subscription, we could possibly sustain redership of the print issue. (naturally, online is the future) which would get the attention of other newspapers.
3. If we had one of the major papers in a small state or congressional district, it could help set the stage electorally.
4. We could employ ourselves (I'd work cheap) rather than shills that take indoctrination from their editors adn corporate bosses.
I know print news is dying, but it will always be around in some form (The Economist and Time aren't going anywhere) and I think that, given the fact that the owners would be happy to trade a print newspaper for a ham sandwich these days, it might be a good investment. If it isn't, we try to survive on reader donations, like NPR claims to, until no one wants to read. Aint got nothin to lose but a few Federal Reserve notes.
Great idea. Takes Money,
Great idea.
Takes Money, though. I don't think a "Money Bomb" will cover it.

Irony
Why not just bribe people of influence within the paper you want to sway? It's much less risky and you don't have to manage a company.
Outrageous right? Well think about this.... what happens when we spend all our money to take over a failing paper and someone bribes the management we hire? Or maybe we will quit our jobs to get into the paper business so we can trust our management.
Most of the papers that are now filled with lies and propaganda started out with a love of freedom and real journalism. When they became successful and held influence they were taken over.
These papers are failing for a reason, why buy someones headache? Now if you wanted to wait until they failed and buy up their equipment on the cheap and actually go in to the business that might be different.
What do you think our enemies are already doing?
Bribery, extortion, counterfeiting, sometimes even murder. That's how the FED and NWO control us.
SIMPLE SOLUTION...
Every single Editor.. and every single Operations manager... IS A RON PAUL REPUBLICAN.....
WHO WOULD WORK FOR FREE....(but of course we pay them)
bottom.. line... we do not let normal people who are unaware..and don't know about the NWO in any key positions...
The Austin American Statesman
or THe UnAmerican Statesman as we like to call it,has been for sale for over a year. You would think that a savvy investor would have bought it by now. That should tell you something.

Another Option
Write a column.
A lot of small town weekly newspapers are open to well-written material they don't have to pay for to fill their pages between ads.
In my area, a local Republican "conservative" has been publishing his opinions that way for years.
All it takes is discipline, and salesmanship to sell yourself, and there could be columns in local papers all over America reflecting the freedom viewpoint.
I you are one of the few with a real gift for writing who gets lots of response, you might even be able to syndicate your material eventually.
I would rather have a column in 100 newspapers than own one paper. Think about it. It could be a career for someone here.
One more thing. Some of you will need to learn to use a spell-checker.
another awesome idea
personally, the letters to the editor, some of the opinion columns, some local news and store ads are all I ever look at in the paper.
Excellant!!
Imagine a big "Money Bomb" effort to get the managing control of these Newspapers.
And, by having these newspapers address the type of real news, and the institutionalized attacks on our Republic, that TV will never confront, will then make these newspapers something that is "new" and powerful, and a great relevation to the people.
With them, we can finally educate and inform and instruct on a widespread level, and reclaim our Independence and National Sovereignty again.
There is a reason they are for sale.
They are becoming worthless. Dinosaurs.
More and more people are getting their info online than ever before.
I see your point, but am not sure on this one...

I wish we would have owned
I wish we would have owned the newspaper that I wrote to last year in regard to Ron Paul's candidacy. That newspaper rewrote my letter to the editor so badly that it made me appear illiterate. I wrote a letter to complain and received a general form type letter in reply. But I held my ground and wrote again picking apart word by word, and line by line what they had done to my letter. Finally, the editor wrote back and apologized. He said that they were wrong and they could have done better.
But too late, my letter as they had printed it, was already ruined. I have never written another letter for fear that they would do it again.
I can see your frustration... however..now that you have an
apology letter.. you are not only more likely to get any future letters published... but ..they more than likely will not be edited.. (at least not much ..if at all) REASON? you can send a copy of their apology letter with any new letter you send them... This will remind them that you indeed are a better letter writer than them....
Thanks for posting that story
