Update: This makes us sound looney

At our "end the fed" rally, this reporter befriended us and was really nice. His report was twisted, cynical and discolored.

That's pretty cool!

A well-written and concise piece, well done Isaac.

Think for yourself. Question authority.

I wish they hadn't put the PSes in

and it turns out that the link to the silver cert's are from 1934 (although the silver cert wikipedia article DOES have pictures of kennedy-era certs).

Oh well.

Typical Yellow Journalism

Which, with the decline in both educational and professional standards these days, is more the norm than the exception. Lazy, unresearched "reporting."

Hah! Great article!

Unfortunately, the truth hurts. Protesting of any sort is a tricky affair. There is a fine line between looking courageous and being a fool. Good intentions are rarely enough....

And, if one cannot articulate the reason for the protest then observers have very little to go on.

Dear Mr. Pulsey,

In the not too distant future, when you are standing in line to receive your “Mark of the Beast” tattoo and microchip, scratching the lesions on your arms to remove the fabric-like fibers caused by the Morgellon’s disease caused by the genetically modified food being fed you, and contemplating your next 20 straight hours of slave labor, courtesy of the international bankers, I hope you’ll remember fondly those you met in the “End the Fed” movement, and how just a handful of your fellow countrymen tried to prevent what is happening to you, and just how you responded.

Good Deal!

I'm glad someone stepped up and wrote. Thank you!

Obviously a different type of article altogether. The difference being akin to a line from Isaac's article, "...criticising the Iraq war for the way it's handled or criticizing the Iraq war for its existence at all."

I'm glad someone 'in the know' was able to spread the message in positive manner to another audience.

If you want to know more about the FED, our country's history, and why Ron Paul became so popular by so many different "trains of thought," please watch some (hopefully all) of these videos. I'm not suggesting that EVERY SINGLE STATEMENT contained within them should be taken as gospel. I am suggesting that each of these videos plays an important part in connecting the dots...

LOL the story reads like

LOL the story reads like Homer Simpson wrote it. Let me summarize. "Hey i'm journalist what's your story? Oh never mind gotta go the crosswalk light just changed do-duh-do. Hey that guy spelled Bernanke wrong kekeke. I'll take a picture of that, that's news worthy! A DVD? Two DVDs? Really? For me? For FREE??? Well yeah I'll take 2 free DVDs what good consumer wouldn't? (Yawn) I don't have time for this. I wonder if I can get the short version on the internet? Oh yeah here we go, some short videos that's just perfect for... I wonder what the t-shirts look like? I'm tired of researching this endthefed thingy I still haven't found out a thing I guess I'll just publish it anyway."

It's articles like that, that make me cynical. Because you know aside from trying to save ourselves and our families we are trying to save these cornholes too. My liberty depends on your liberty... Everybodies liberty depends on everybody elses liberty and of course most people don't even know the meaning of the word and of course they aren't gonna stand up for you let alone themselves. So really what hope do we have? We're dealing with a siciety that thrives on it's own self-inflicted wounds.

Scrolling down threw the comments I see that the writer is in fact not a journalist and did not have any intention of writing a story which just makes more sense really and perhaps should have maintained that intention for lack of...? journalistic quality???

Awesome.

wninja got it. Except for the fact that he is still looking for some sort of 'journalism' in it. It is an opinion piece written simply for entertainment. Tastes vary, that's all this is. Some people seemed to like it as a short, mildly amusing piece. Others didn't like it. I not out to please everyone. Someone also asked what the point of the story was.

Answer: No real point. Just observations.

One person said that I was irrelevent. But, if I may say, this mentality can be harmful to a group such as this. If you're looking to change people's minds and make them aware you should be a little self-conscious about your appearance to the general public. As much as I despise the sales and marketing world, there is a reason they are so hung up on appearance. It is everything.

The woman who said I was irrelevent also stated that people come and go all the time. Are there any thoughts as to why people leave? Wouldn't it be great to keep them?

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

Dear Mr. Pulsey, I regret you may not

return to read my appreciation for your reasonable and balanced responses to the unfortunate excesses in some of the posts below.
A lot of the people on this site have been working for so long to waken the American public to the incompetence and corruption of the government. And the mainstream media has blocked the truth so effectively, so blatantly that we watch our country going down in ruins, and despair.
We're up against the most unchallenged power the world has ever seen, backed by the biggest military, the most controlling central banking system, the best funded mainstream media-- corporate-owned or owned outright by the government; the schools are entirely controlled by the government. Most universities are dependent, people in academia vie for government grants.
And against all that we have an awakened, growing but still very small grassroots freedom movement. It's little wonder that some people here are eager to lash out when they see what seems another instance of knee jerk media ridicule of their efforts rather than the responsible search for truth we long to see from the media.
I thank you for coming to this site and explaining patiently how both the Fed Rally participants appeared to you, and also how the name-callers in this thread affected your opinion of the whole site. It's a benefit for us to hear how we sound to others, since much of our point in being here at all is to figure out how to be more effective.
I hope you'll not be put off so entirely that you won't look futher. Like most forums, we have some extremes and low points, but far more positive, educational, uplifting posts -- because what brings a lot of us here is a passionate search for freedom and for truth.

For the record

I'm writing in response to your post, "This makes us sound looney."

I'm one of the editors at MPLSMirror.com and I'd like to clarify the goal of our on-line news magazine. It was created by my friend and former coworker, Terry Yzaguirre, to fill a void she perceived in Minneapolis' public dialogue. The MPLSMirror is a forum for news, views and opinions of ordinary people. We have maintained from the beginning that all contributions should pertain to Minneapolis in some way. On rare occasions, I've managed to convince Terry to allow me to deviate from our Minneapolis focus, but that was the exception rather than the rule.

While looking at our tracking report, Terry noticed that we were getting several visitors from Daily Paul. It didn't take me long to figure out why. I emailed Nick to alert him to the attention his work had attracted and he took it upon himself to respond to your post.

I'd like to clarify that Nick a.k.a. Mr. Pulsey, sent me his photos of "End the Fed" along with some pithy comments, after coming across the protest while biking. He told me at the time that he shot some photos and talked with some of the protesters. Nick regularly contributes photos and occasionally adds his own comments with them.

Most of our content is editorial in nature, but until that contribution, his photos had been edited into montages, so we'd never had occasion to use his observations. Other than photos, we edit very little, if at all, of our contributions. As I stated, our goal is to give voice to 'regular' people who are rarely ever heard, and Nick is no exception. We stand behind him and his work. Our writers' work is seen by thousands daily, from all over the world. I've never understood why people from Japan or Russia or even New York would be interested in Minneapolis crime and politics, which is our primary content, but they obviously are.

Let me also state for the record, I like Ron Paul's message. Given the chance, I would have voted for him. I was very disappointed when his voice was squelched during the RNC, especially when John McCain's candidacy seemed so weak and unfocused. When Ron was in town for the RNC, one of our regular contributors attended an event at the Target Center where Paul spoke. Much to my disappointment, he never wrote about it; I would like to have shared his message with our readers. I believe that Ron would approve of our mission, even though he might not agree with every view. We have no objections to anyone wishing to contribute their views on the Fed, Ron Paul or any other subject, providing it isn't slander and that it relates to Minneapolis.

I regret that anyone took Nick's work as a personal attack on their intellect, but I offer them an opportunity to articulate their viewpoint, in their own words, providing they can "make it local."

We encourage anyone wishing to contribute "news, views and opinions" pertaining to Minneapolis by emailing them to: mplsmirror@mplsmirror.com

Appreciate the post, Ray.

Ron Paul was treated as an irrelevant, old "kook" by the mainstream media even before the start of the primaries. We are extremely sensitive having been burned badly many times by "friendly" reporters.

As an aside, you wrote, "I've never understood why people from Japan or Russia or even New York would be interested in Minneapolis crime and politics, which is our primary content, but they obviously are.". You might find these people are expats for the most part.

Thanks Ray

Thanks Ray. You've gone above and beyond what anyone should have expected. I didn't mind the article myself but some people here are a little touchy (and others are of course completely insane).

It's good to hear you like Ron Paul but too bad his Minneapolis convention wasn't covered. Here's hoping that someday you will see fit to do an article on him.

I could be wrong...

But I think there are plenty of qualified writers among the contributors to this forum. I look forward to hearing from them.

Agreed.

I'm particularly tired of people who cannot be bothered to correct their posts. It tells you immediately when words are spelled incorrectly.

"Living in the country" just isn't a good enough excuse for poor spelling.
