Is America about to get what's coming to her??? There are many people across the world that would say yes.
Consumed with consumption, Americans have lived beyond their means for years. Maxed out and tapped out, stimulus or no stimulus - there is no way to go but down.
As the Almighty dollar became her god, she allowed all other institutions including her families to deteriorate. However, her worst violation has been looking the other way as her war machine killed and wounded millions of people across the globe.
God does not look kindly on such behavior, nor does he allow it to go on forever. And now - the piper must be paid!

I've been writing letters to: reporters, Congressman, Senators, Youtube, colleagues, family, friends, strangers. I do not know what else to do in the time alloted. It is very difficult to wake someone up.

While the military has tried to spend as little as possible on its soldiers, the GPS technology including laser and satellite technology can drop a nuclear bomb on any doorstep in the world. This can be done from ICBs, jets, bombers and submarines.
The Chinese are smart people, there is no way they would attach the US because they know it would be instant suicide.
China has stock piles of supplies and tons of human resources
They could absorb a first strike and still have more people then us to rebuild and invade.
Plus if we went to war with China, we would be unable to manufacture electronics and many other vital products.
The US is being knocked down and so that the EU can be the center of the world.
Our immoral society dumped into a depression will quickly equate to Martial Law and an obliteration of the US economy.

Just reduce it to a nuclear argument. The US has no civil defense and SDI crap doesn't work. The Chinese have nukes just the same as us, as well as a functional civil defense and a fully functional manufacturing base. America has neither. If they successfully nuked 10 large US cities, the United States as we know it would cease to exist. That would be that.

We could destroy....
....but never occupy China. The first thing that comes to my mind...destroy the new Three Rivers Gorge Dam. Biggest dam in the world....destroy that, everything along that river down to the sea is hurting. That's just one target. The rest of the infrastructure could be destroyed just as easily. As much fun as it is to speculate and war-game, it is not going to happen. The relationship is too deeply co-dependent for either side to start a war. The Russians on the other hand....meh...I don't know enough about them to have an expert opinion.

...no it's not. Our military is weakened greatly, and the Chinese have an incredible amount of soldiers and a vast amount of technology and wealth at their disposal.

If the Chinese resorted to "emergency conscription" they could easily have 50 to 100 million soldiers on the march. Infantry wins wars. The US could never begin to match that.
Also, the Chinese have a functional civil defense system for nuclear threats. The US only has a civil defense system for the chain of command, and in the event of a nuclear attack, 300 million Americans are "on their own".

Never in a time in history has one country been so far ahead of everyone else. Even though we have bases in 120 countries, it's not about the number of personnel - it all about the precision technology. And all the other countries know about it.
The US has colonized space and mapped the earth to within inches. When you and only you can drop a bomb on any door mat in the world - you have superior military force.

Precision technology lost the war in Vietnam.
I think you're constructing an elaborate belief system to shield yourself here. Our ability to precision bomb doesn't even necessarily win wars with conventional munitions. With nuclear weapons, it's practically irrelevant. It might bear some weight in a first strike, but would defend nothing on the receiving end.
Ever heard the old phrase "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades"? A 5-18 megaton nuclear warhead is a hell of a lot larger than a hand grenade. You could easily destroy a nation using outdated ICBMs from the 1960s.
Until or unless our ABMs can reliably shoot them out of the sky, the US is vulnerable to a first strike...extremely vulnerable.

The technology I am speaking of was developed AFTER Vietnam and the amount of money the US has put into this technology puts us way out in front.

Bear in mind the enemy probably can avail himself of cruise missiles as well as MIRVs. In the case of Russia, all of the above PLUS strategic nuclear submarines to launch them from, which can be put just outside our international waters with a five-minute flight ETA to target.

Next to the US, Russia has the next most powerful military.
But remember they went broke because they were spending so much on the military trying to keep up with the US.
Look up the cumulative budgets that the top ten countries have spent over the last 20 years and you will see we have spent more than all of the other countries put together!!!

Maybe you should think about how much the US spends on education
