Received is not spelt, "recieved".......i before e, except after c.

I dont mean to be picky, but......

It often gets me when I see spelling mistakes in otherwise great material.

It only gives (other) people the excuse to dismiss something due to bad spelling, al la...."if they can't even spell correctly why should I believe any of this rubbish....", etc...

I experienced this lately when I let someone read the Chigago Tribune's Full Page ad.....which states....."a usurper", rather than "an usurper".

They said....."How can I believe any of this if the person that wrote it can't even realise that a word beginning with a vowel should be prefixed with "An" "........I tried to explain that the article was actually correctly written, but the mist had already appeared in their eyes...very very sad actually.

A usurper is in fact correct, as english has exceptions.....

A or An?

"A" goes before all words that begin with consonants.

* a cat
* a dog
* a purple onion
* a buffalo
* a big apple

with one exception: Use an before unsounded h.

* an honorable peace
* an honest error

"An" goes before all words that begin with vowels:

* an apricot
* an egg
* an Indian
* an orbit
* an uprising

with two exceptions: When u makes the same sound as the y in you, or o
makes the same sound as w in won, then a is used.

* a union
* a united front
* a unicorn
* a used napkin
* a U.S. ship
* a one-legged man
* a European
* a usurper

But then again the above is a horribly complicated description for a simple concept: "a"
before a consonant sound and "an" before a vowel sound.
