Monday: WTP Press Conference in DC
As planned, on Monday, December 8, WTP will conduct a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
Yesterday, we issued a press release http://www.wethepeoplefoundation.org/UPDATE/misc2008/PRESS-R... about the event. We sent the release to approximately 400 media outlets, including those on the attached list. http://www.wethepeoplefoundation.org/UPDATE/misc2008/Press-R... The press conference will feature three of the attorneys behind cases now at the Supreme Court.
Almost immediately, the Wall Street Journal posted a item on its �Market Watch.� We expect a fair amount of press coverage. On Monday morning the Supreme Court will also release its decision regarding whether to hear the case by attorney Leo Donofrio who challenged the failure of the New Jersey secretary of state to verify the eligibility of the Presidential candidates scheduled to appear on the ballot.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm.

The way I see it
If there were 2 frontrunners that were not eligible ( yes, McCain does not qualify either) that are found guilty of fraud, then Ron Paul was denied an equal, fair, legal, Constitutional opportunity to be nominated as President. They are now trying to spin the issue, by saying it is unimportant because the fact that "the people" chose Obama that is all that is needed. What a load of BS that is, if he wasn't qualified to begin with. I have said this before, and I will say it again there is something very strange going on, and maybe there is a trap being laid out here that was preplanned all along. Who knows, maybe they always wanted Hillery (isn't Berg a huge supporter of her's)? or some other crisis to play into. However, for those saying it is not a big deal I don't see how you can believe in our Constitution, but say it does not matter. I guess we will see more of what plays out today, if anything.

I've seen him described as a constitutional lawyer, a constitutional scholar. If either of these descriptions are true, he would know of the natural born citizen requirement, even if his average supporter didn't.
For that reason alone, he should be raising some eyebrows with his supporters that he knew better, doesn't have any interest in proving he meets the requirement if he does, and just doesn't seem to care.
I think many folks are with ya, victory, that there is something very strange going on.
Why do the "powers that be" not pick "cleaner" people from their bullpen to start with and make it easier on themselves with a path of least resistance?
It's bad enough that the favored candidates have so much controversy, skeletons, associations with shady or questionable people. But why do the annointed Republican and Democratic candidates BOTH have natural born citizenship issues?
Well, as was mentioned the other day, if the natural born citizenship requirement gets tossed out the window, could this be paving the way for "others"? Hmmm....
Why is so hard for us to be truthful?
All the mystery surrounding issues is what keeps these items relevant. Bump.

I just got off the phone with someone (I did not get his name) who said it was not listed as being covered today. For future events such as this, he advised that C-Span can be faxed with the info and a request for coverage.
I did call the number--202-737-3220...Maybe a few more calls?

It may not "give" our liberties
But it enshrines our liberties in law and thereby protects them. We are "endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights" . The Constitution limits the government from usurping powers not granted by "we the people". Obama has stated that the Constitution is "fatally flawed". the constitution is a document that places limitations on the federal government.
when the constitution is dead, we're talking figuratively. the document is just a piece of paper that outlines the limitations placed on the federal government.
when the federal government ignores these rules that it set for itself....then we say the constitution is dead. it's a figure of speech.
the constitution has been dead for a very very long time.
in other words, the federal government has exceeded and abused it's power in no small way for more then a 100 years.

The Articles of the Constitution list the powers that the people are delegating to the federal government. Any powers that are not listed in the Articles, the federal government simply does not have.
The 10 Amendments are restrictive clauses which list things that the fed cannot do. For example the language is: "Congress shall make no law..." and "...shall not be infringed"
The BOR do not grant any rights to anyone.
Read the preamble to the BOR (google it).
To "secure the Blessings of Liberty"
means to defend ourselves from those who want to take our freedoms away. The document itself does not grant liberty.
Also, do not confuse a Constitutionalist with a Libertarian. They may, or may not, be the same thing. There are many on this website who are Constitutionalists but not libertarian.
