The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
Joe Trippi managed Howard Dean's amazing 2004 dark horse campaign and remains one of the few people to understand the power of the internet in this realm. He wrote about it in this book The Revolution Will Not Be Televised which is worth a read, if you've got the time.
Daily Paul member Texas Little El passed along this article from the Guardian UK about Trippi's views on the internet: Internet spells end for political spin, says US web guru
Texas Little El says, "Isn't this what Ron Paul Supporters have been saying all along? That the era of spin, and flip flopping can't continue because we have far too many sources on the internet to do fact checking?
"We no longer need to wait for the Mainstream Media to tell us what is happening? We find it out within minutes without the spin or bias of the MSM, CNN, ABC, CBS or Fox news networks. Dr. Paul was right, we the people ARE 4 to 5 years ahead of our government."
Indeed!
The article begins,
Internet activism is spelling the end for the age of spin, the online campaign guru Joe Trippi will warn British politicians today, suggesting that the rules for dealing with "old media" no longer apply....
"Before TV, what mattered was how your voice sounded. Then with TV it matters what your candidate looks like ... Anybody can fake it on TV: all the Joe Trippis and Alastair Campbells get really good at making sure our guy looks great for the eight seconds that are actually going on the news.
"We are now moving to a medium where authenticity is king, from what things look like to what's real ... You have to be 'on' 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
This sounds great for Ron Paul!!
