Good Temporary Job and Spread The Revolution doing it

The US Census Bureau is hiring people to knock on doors and get info. When you encounter those anti-government types, maybe you'll have a Dr. Paul handout handy :)
It pays pretty well, I think around $15-18/hour. However, you'll be an employee of the Federal Government.

Looks to me as if your performance is judged on how much info
you can obtain. But I'm not saying it's a bad idea to become a field rep anyway and to challenge "the system". However,
From their website:
http://www.census.gov/rodal/www/fieldrep.html
You cannot:
* Engage in partisan political activity during any 24-hour period in which work is performed.
Also:
A large part of you job is meeting and dealing with the public. While you will find that most people are quite cooperative, a certain percentage will require you to be a skilled "salesperson" - to sell them on the importance of the survey and to convince them to participate. We have found that a person who enjoys meeting and talking to new people will more likely be a successful census field representative.
Speed, accuracy, and thoroughness are very important, and most surveys have quality and production standards to meet. Supervisors observe field representatives periodically to make sure quality standards are met. Also, we reinterview some households to make sure you recorded the responses accurately.
Applying
I'm applying for the part time field rep. I've worked for the federal government before so a back ground check should not be a problem. Also, I will be one of those constitutional survey workers if there is such a thing. If people don't want to give any information besides how many people live in their residence then I'll thank them and be on my way. Hopefully, I can get the job done by just asking one question and then leave...lol. Besides, in order to try to get back to a constitutional Republic shouldn't we the people be working for government and leading by example?

you should take a lead from the guy below
and also remind the people who you're asking them that the questions that follow are unconstitutional...
Just a thought.
Hey. If I gave out info on the revolution wouldn't I be an anti-federal government employee ??

how do you get this job?
I just got laid off so...
Tell the truth
Just tell the people ''Now I have other questions here that are Unconstitutional..it is your choice to answer or not''
People might like to hear the truth from a government employee..even a part time one.
Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.

yes this is a really good idea.
don't forget to explain them that the census is not an enumerated power and is only supposed to be a strict headcount, if they ask.
Good One
:) I love it!
I did this job once
a long time ago, It was only voluntary how many questions the people wanted to answer. I don't think it would have been a problem to hand out something else, most of the people were friendly and the people who hired people for this were lucky to get anyone to do the job half way right.

If this is possible I think it's a great idea
But won't you get in trouble with your boss for that? I wouldn't want another Paulite to get in any hot water.

This is a terrible idea
Let's go invade peoples' privacy for the government? Not for me. I'm not going to be the government's implement for coercion of private details of their lives.
Like Ron Paul says: IT'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!!

Either way, someone is going
Either way, someone is going to be doing this job...why not let it be someone who understands liberty and will respect people's rights, and possibly educate them at the same time?
I admire your resolve and love of liberty, but your short-sightedness may cause more harm than good.
Some other good reasons
First, the census bureau asks unconstitutional questions. While the government has a right to get a count of the number of citizens for the purposes of redistricting congress, they do not have a right to ask other questions - for example educational level, or Occupation.
When someone refuses to answer, some census takers can get obnoxious, because they don't know the truth, and figure the government has a right to get whatever information they want from you. I'd rather have a CFL member (who goes along with all requests to opt out of the "long" census forms, or refusals to answer any unconstitutional questions. )
BTW - You will also have to take a civil service test.
No
the government is allowed to ask, just not allowed to coerce!
The census is constitutionally prescribed, and there are no constitutional limits to what the government can ask. But the government should exercise restraint in "getting people to volunteer information".
I think we are in agreement on this:
In fact, if you want to spread the message of limited government, what you *should do* is go door to door asking these questions, and instead of being one of those obnoxious types, first get out of the way the required questions, and then say a disclaimer, I'm going to ask you some questions that you do not have to answer, and if you do not wish to answer further questions then thank you for your time... And then ask the rest.
Be part of the solution.
I take that back
I thought the census was an enumerated power, instead it's only in reference to redistricting.
Yeah, the census is only supposed to be a strict count.

Thanks for a great idea.
