Sharing my plan to wake up the relatives.
I don't think I have met one Ron Paul supporter who hasn't endured the frustration of trying to wake up friends and relatives with limited or no success.
After reading Common Sense Revisited:
http://www.commonsenserevisited.org/cmd.php?af=877374
I was struck by the notion that if all Americans took to heart the concepts conveyed in that document, we wouldn't be in the trouble we are in.
It was then that I formed my plan. I bought 10 copies of Common Sense Revisited for family and friends.
On the front I will paperclip a note along with a personal check made out to the recipient in the amount of $20. The note will convey that I would like to pay them $20 to read the document (it's under 40 pages).
Then on the last page I will slide a note in saying something to the effect that I sent this to them in an effort to change the world for the better, and that if they thought this was a message worth passing on that they should tear up my check, write a check to someone they know and care about, and pass it on in a similar fashion.
Feel free to comment and share your ideas or let me know if you plan to do the same.
As an aside, I've also thought about paying people to watch movies like America:Freedom to Fascism, The Money Masters, Money As Debt, etc. Might be interesting to get permission from the copyright holders to do a non for profit showing where the public is paid to watch.
For now, my plan to use Common Sense Revisited is doable and I plan to move forward with it. I was thinking I will probably put some links to additional resources like the above mentioned movies etc. on the last page note I slip in there.
So there it is. Just thought I'd share the idea.

unfortunately one of the great brainwashing techniques
of the media, which is instilled in kids and adolescente is
"I already know everything"
"You can't tell me anything"
"If I humiliate you I win"
This goes way beyond normal adolecence tendencies and plays off them.
It shuts down thirst for learning. It closes minds, often permanently. It always puts one cute litle moral lesson in there...to make everyone feel good.
...but I will do pass on the dcoument and copy the videos tofamily. I love these people.

Don't waste your money. Demoralized minds are immune to truth
If it's reached the point you feel like you have to pay them. They are not interested. Been at it since '87, trust me.
The good(?) news is, when reality truly sets in, people wake up and have questions. Make sure you stay safe to be able to answer.
A perfect example is the majority of the people here. You guys started questioning things because the Bush administration was what is called the "crisis" phase and it jolted a lot of people. Imagine how it felt when his dad first said "New World Order" and you knew what he meant!
As you now know, the problem is far older than any of us.

Thanks for the feedback
You may be right, but I am stubborn and will keep pushing. If they cash the checks I'll write them off for good and move on. It's not like they aren't decent people, just naive.
Thanks for all you have been doing since '87.
great ideas
*great effort*

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
Wow
Things are bad when we feel we have to pay someone to wake up and leave the herd. I'm lucky that my side of the family are all aware. My husband's side, however. Baaaa. I'm considering spending xmas eve working at a soup kitchen just to avoid the insanity, the shallowness.

I have to agree
The soup kitchen idea sounds like a good way to spend xmas eve. It's funny, you are thinking things are bad when we have to pay people to leave the herd, I'm thinking things are bad when we have to retreat to soup kitchens to find humanity. lol
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Excellent point
I am certain to find more grace and humility in the soup kitchen than at my in laws.
