Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve refused a request by Bloomberg News to disclose the recipients of more than $2 trillion of emergency loans from U.S. taxpayers and the assets the central bank is accepting as collateral.

Bloomberg filed suit Nov. 7 under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act requesting details about the terms of 11 Fed lending programs, most created during the deepest financial crisis since the Great Depression.

The Fed responded Dec. 8, saying it’s allowed to withhold internal memos as well as information about trade secrets and commercial information. The institution confirmed that a records search found 231 pages of documents pertaining to some of the requests.

SECRECY IS TRANSPARENCY

This fits in perfectly with:

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

Orwell would have liked Ron Paul.

It's the same thing with the $2.4 trillion the pentagon lost

Who cares what they do with the money?

None of us are really in control over our lives or destiny. We are all just sitting around waiting to be herded into FEMA camps. Some us might go down fighting, but it won't even be a blip on the radar.

In the mean time get ready for hard economic times where you will be lucky if you have food, never mind electricity or the internet.

Now is the time for full disclosure

If there is really some meat to this, the Ron Paul community should take this outside of our circle.. people will respond to this.

The money is no doubt parked in numbered offshore accounts collecting massive interest before it suddenly reappears as if nothing happened, it's possible the money is in Dubai and will never resurface. Lack of government oversight of this magnitude sure makes one suspect that political figures who should be watching were paid to look the other way.
Then we have the exploding scandal involving the Obama/Blago deal.
More alarming yet the ConCon (Constitutional Convention) drive which is only 2 States short of happening.
And even more frightening Bush/Cheney still have 5 weeks to bestow more skullduggery.

"more than $2 trillion of

"more than $2 trillion of emergency loans from U.S. taxpayers" ????

The American taxpayers haven't got anymore money to give. This money is imaginary stuff growing on trees in some orchard high above the Potomac. The trees are not much higher than that of a small bush! They are being fed liberally with bullshit.

Bush and bullshit! Now that makes for a heady concoction.

I just saw this....

and found it APPALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I have always thought....our money is being siphoned off from the top - the Fed - and being given to who knows who!

Stateside, foreign........???????????????????????????

Arrest the whole lot of them at the Fed as this is GRAND theft! Then throw them all into prison including Paulson, Frank, etc.!

Assumptions of Article

that the Fed is a Federal Agency. Also, the bailout gave authority to the Fed to side-step disclosure and only limited the cap to $700 billion at a time, not to a total cap.

basically, we're under martial law.

surprise?

Let's call another House meeting so the Reps can wave their finger at Paulson again!

Talk about David vs. Goliath

But the Fed said they would be transparent!

Is this article suggesting the Fed lied to Congress? But people in three-piece suits never lie. Rich people never lie. It must simply be another misunderstanding, you know, like starting a war to find something that does not exist.

Dishonorable gentlemen?

That's true. They never lie. All are honorable gentlemen after all! In the House of Commons it has been established that "terminalogical inexactitudes" are what we should say about liers, cheats and skinflints.

Trouble is, when worked up a bit, this is very hard to say. It also does not convey the same as liers, cheats and skinflints.

Too bad

It's a private bank, they don't have to. If everyone knew the evil of this institution there would be rioting in the streets.

They dont have to, so they

They dont have to, so they wont.
