15$ Tax on all cattle.???? anyone heard this

Another Rare post for me
I over-heard an older local farmer here in Ar. saying something about a 15$ tax on every head of cattle you own starting the first of the year.?.??? something about RFID tags maybe.?
anyway he went on to say he was going sell every head he had exept 2 for eating purposes
Does anyone know anything about this.???

Tax on livestock
I heard that because of the "pollution" (carbon footprints) that the livestock make, if you have a herd of more than 50 animals they want to tax steer up to $200 each, and up to $150 for a dairy cow, and $50.00 for each pig, most cattlemen say they will stop raising cattle and we can import our meat. that is what 1 cattleman said on CNN last week.

$87 per beef cow, $137 (?) per dairy cow for their "emissions"!
Tax for trackng?
Through NAIS...called a carbon tax. I think it currently applies to farmers with 25 head of diary cows or 50 head of beef cattle. I suppose dairy cattle have more "gas" ???? Personally, in addition to money grabbing, I suspect it is a means to "trace" who has animals usable for food. If this one passes, probably single owned farm animals will have an ID chip and taxed in the near future.
