wall street in a mess
stocks in distress
and globalization in the news
bad mortgage loans
and deficits unknown
are giving me the bankrupt blues

corporations out of cash
the dollars gonna crash
and congress hasn't got a clue
the county's in recession
and headed for depression
and I got the bankrupt blues

fire up the printing press
we say no and they vote yes
and grant the fed powers they abuse
they address the situation
by adding more inflation
and giving me the bankrupt blues

trillions in debt
and lets not forget
the billions from china we go through
just read the constitution
and you'll find the solution
and the cure to these bankrupt blues
