The problem with Democracy

0 votes

Democracy these days is a de facto form of government that has subverted our Republic. Democracy has literally hijacked the minds of most Americans because that is what their conditioned to think. Our founding fathers knew that Democracy never works, ponder this quote from President John Adams:"Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There was never a democracy that did not commit suicide." Why do people insist on calling the Republic a Democracy?

My conclusion on the question

In a Republic, individual rights are protected by rule of law...

In a Democracy, individual rights can be "voted" away...

If someone tells me they want to "Make the world safe for Democracy" or "Spread Democracy in the region," I know that they want to take away individual rights.

Check out when protesters at the RNC in MN were asked about Democracy vs. a Republic...

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead

If we had a democracy...

We have a Plutocratic Aristocracy
"New opinions often appear first as jokes and fancies, then as blasphemies and treason, then as questions open to discussion, and finally as established truths."

"The use of 'Conspiracy Theorist' or 'Truther' as a derogatory -- as an epithet almost -- is something the propagandists have perfected over the decades, and it's a useful tool for eliminating articulate dissent."

In the end, every system

of government results in what we have, a few NWO people who own everything in the world. Even socialism / communism, "redistributing the wealth", ends the same way.

A better world will evolve as WE evolve beyond greed and consumerism.
The world has become a greed driven feeding frenzy. Most of us did not contribute greatly to that scene, but as a nation, American values have eroded.

Updating Benjamin Franklin's

Updating Benjamin Franklin's quip about democracy, wolves and sheep,
I found this argument:

Democracy: Two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

Representative democracy: Two thousand wolves and one thousand sheep electing two wolves and a sheep who vote on what to have for dinner.

Constitutional republic: Two thousand wolves and one thousand sheep electing two wolves and a sheep who vote on what to have for dinner, but are restricted by a Constitution that says they cannot eat sheep. The Supreme Court then votes 5 wolves to 4 sheep that mutton does not count as sheep.

Liberty: Well-armed sheep contesting the above votes.

I found them, of all things, on a website that discourages voting.

Why call ourselves a Democracy?

Because of Wilson and Rooosevelt. (too many Os, I like the slip)
When you are able to run the presses 24/7, you can magically fund all kinds of public works programs and put many jobless citizens to work.
Just don't let the people find out that you created the mess in the first place,
there would be a r3volution by morning.

Sorry Mr. Franklin, "We're All Democrats Now"

Democracy Is Not Freedom by

Democracy Is Not Freedom
by Rep. Ron Paul, MD

The problem is that democracy is not freedom. Democracy is simply majoritarianism, which is inherently incompatible with real freedom. Our founding fathers clearly understood this, as evidenced not only by our republican constitutional system, but also by their writings in the Federalist Papers and elsewhere."

"John Adams argued that democracies merely grant revocable rights to citizens depending on the whims of the masses, while a republic exists to secure and protect pre-existing rights. Yet how many Americans know that the word 'democracy' is found neither in the Constitution nor the Declaration of Independence, our very founding documents?"

A truly democratic election in Iraq, without U.S. interference and U.S. puppet candidates, almost certainly would result in the creation of a Shiite theocracy. Shiite majority rule in Iraq might well mean the complete political, economic, and social subjugation of the minority Kurd and Sunni Arab populations. Such an outcome would be democratic, but would it be free?

"We must resist any use of the word 'freedom' to describe state action. We must reject the current meaningless designations of 'liberals' and 'conservatives,' in favor of an accurate term for both: statists." --Ron Paul, 2005

even Dr Paul does it.

I cringe when he does. even if a republic is a form of liberal democracy, it is still wrong to call it a democracy. that would be like comparing a moped to an 18 wheeler, sure, they are both forms of transportation.......

because

Sheep bleat the repeat. Media says this county is a democracy therefore it must be true. So it has been blasted on the boob tube so shall it be done!

simple answer

government schooling

Exactly

I've attended a public school and I'm now in college my peers have unknowingly accepted a socialistic form of government. The brainwashing is astounding to say the least but very sad in the end. They reject history and never do their research instead they believe in texting in class and other frivolous activities.

" Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. " - George Washington
